- During their Investor Announcements Disney announced their new slate of Marvel shows for Disney Plus. And in this video I am going to talk about the MCU's new slate of movies aswell as their pros and cons.
Wandavision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier are great additions to Disney Plus but Loki and What If... are both very questionable.

Judging from leaked set photos, that figure in the Loki trailer seems to be lady Loki or echantress
never even thought of that being enchantress, more just lady Loki, but enchantress would be a good addition.
"they usually keep reverting to their comedic roots" WandaVision is part sitcom though, one would expect comedy. Not all MCU movies and shows should be dark and "mature", they do have more mature content. Also Loki in the show is from a separate timeline meaning the original Loki still went on his arc and died at the beginning of IW.

Except only 5% are, and only by moments. I'd welcome an actual dark MCU movie featuring Wanda. There's potential, but I don't see Disney going there.
@@a7000zo The latter 2 Captain America movies are serious and mature, Black Panther, Infinity War, The Incredible Hulk and the first Ironman while starring a humorous lead, takes everything through a more mature, visceral filter.
Even the ones that aren't on that list won't qualify as just "'goofy comedies'". In fact, I only think GOTG movies; Ant-Man movies; and Thor: Ragnarok could qualify as that.
@@themadtitan7603 Civil War is everything but mature lmao. Just serious but overall uneventfull imo. Infinity War, Winter Soldier, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Black Panther were the only legitimately serious ones. Iron Man was grounded in its humourous take on larger than life situations. It was novel at the time and so successful it spawned 25+ copies, but I wouldn't call it serious at all. Iron Man 3 aimed at seriousness, and that failed hard.
Not all of them are comedies, but the vast majority don't take their own plots seriously enough to convey threat.

Personally I think loki would be good, It is sorta like a different reality time jump and I usually like or liked his humor and it would be interesting seeing what the realities without the infinity stones look like ( The black widow thing looks like the dormmaumu reality).
One more thing catwoman and loki are both similar from going to being an villain to an anti hero. And they both go after stuff

I have traveled from the future to tell you that Loki is the best well received show of the other to our beating & pacing both Wandavision & Falcon and the Winter Soldier ( both the shows were good to ) ( but not as mind blowing as Loki ).
Just revisiting to say I wonder how Eric will react when he finds out Owen Wilson, the guy who plays Mobius in Loki, was the same guy who played Lightning McQueen from Cars
I personally don’t think the animation in Marvel’s What If will be too much of a problem. Keep in mind that Green Lantern the Animated Series had very awkward and off-putting CGI and people list it as one of the best DC shows ever made.
I agree the russo brothers directed mcu movies are my favorite ones as well here isy ranking

I understand why the MCU wants to keep its humor at the forefront. We saw how focusing solely on the drama turned out for Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. However, films like Logan and The Dark Knight are mainly dramas and they managed to become two of the best superhero movies ever made. It just makes me really nervous to see the X-Men when they are rebooted in the MCU. People may not have liked them as much as the Avengers, but that franchise at least kept a consistent tone.

You know I did agreed with you on Marvel’s What If animation not looking that great but after seeing what Aquaman King Of Atlantis looked, I immediately changed my mind, What If looks a hell a lot better than whatever the hell that thing is.

Over a year later and Uncle Eric has still not Binge Watched Loki or What If, or compared the two Ant-man movies. PLEASE DO SO!
I do agree with Eric my only problem with the mcu is that it feels a little to kid friendly in fact the puppet master episode from avatar the last airbender is just a 22 minute long episode of a pg rated show and somehow it felt darker than 50.25 hours worth of pg-13 movies ( I actually love the mcu but I just want the movies to be a bit more mature)
I mean comics are mainly targeted to kids

I feel "What if...?" could have worked if it took a "love, death & robots" approach i.e each episode/short taking a different animation style

can you review Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, as a way to honor Chadwick Boseman's legacy, since it is his last performance. And just a little side not, chadwick's performance in this film is the best of 2020.
Hard disagree with you on Marvel’s what if...? animation, but that is what options are for.

You need to.....check your eyes man, What if have a very good looking style of animation, I dont see what the heck you say as cheap, you clearly dont see many cartoons shows it look like, I have no issues with the What if show, looks great to me. But I agrees still with you with the WandaVision and the Loki show....specially the Loki show, I have zero expectations and the trailer didn't help at all. If you think the production value of these shows looks great then you need to see The Mandalorian specially season 2.
I don't see how people can like Falcon. He is so bland and a sidekick of Captain America at best.
That's the point, this show will flesh him and Bucky into their own characters.

Due to the Pandemic, I've been watching some indies and tv shows so I forgot all about Marvel. Thanks for the update tho. I won't be watching any of these until I see them get good reviews.
For Loki I’m fine with him coming back because this is a different version of Loki from the one we saw In infinity war one that may or may not be redeemed (most likely will be redeemed)
I think marvel is definitely starting to change...just the list of movies they’re releasing screams change to me...I feel like with the new characters and different stories they are telling, they have to change...if not, that is dissapointing
I hope you are right and that they do change. I don't want another phase where everything feels the same.

I think the Loki trailer actually looks really good. It has a horror thriller vibe similar to WandaVision. The scene with Owen Wilson in the elevator seemed really eerie and creepy. Also, it’s rare that we ever see a superhero show that had a villain as the main character, and since this Loki hasn’t been redeemed yet, it allows for a ton of exciting opportunities that I hope this show takes.
I bet the time of the Loki trailer is a lie. They're doing another Age of Ultron where it SEEMS eerie and creepy. But then when you way the the show it's going to be very goofy and light-hearted.
Don't buy into these Marvel trailers. If they show a darker tone, then don't trust them until you see the final movie.

I’m gonna be honest I love the MCU more than any other franchise but after Endgame I’m just not as interested or invested in seeing anything else from the MCU. To me it was over at Endgame and plus I doubt that anyone of these shows will compare to Netflix’s Daredevil.
I don't know I don't think what if was ever going to be live I do remember clearly this was announced and did said was animated before this started but I am disappointed with the style not the worst animation I seen but not great ether getting a star wars resistance vide to it would been better each episode to a different animation style instead of the same style but the zombie episode is only one I gona watch

The only thing is is it going to be confusing if all we do is watch the movies that come out in theaters because I guarantee you not all Marvel fans have Disney Plus I for one don't have a reason to get Disney Plus cuz I have too many subscriptions already not going to waste my money on Disney Plus that's the problem with putting shows that are connected to the Cinematic Universe on Disney Plus do you have to have a subscription at this rate it would have been better on television I'm not joking about that it would have been better because now say there's a very important fact in the TV show but that we need to pay attention for for the movie what is the point if we don't have the app or we just don't have the funds to get the app because we already have too many apps that we don't want to get rid of right now either this is why it's a bad idea in my opinion there's going to be a lot of Marvel fans confused because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who doesn't have Disney plus and doesn't plan on getting it cuz I already have too many subscriptions to other things

Yes I did. That's one of the reasons I gave it a 10/10. Endgame unfortunately was not as consistent. Civil War though was, with the exception of one scene.

This didn't age well... Eric while you're complaining about the animation on what if and the sitcom style in WandaVision just appreciate what it sets for the mcu and if you hate it just don't watch it (and for Loki You were so wrong on that one) This is a whole problem I have with this channel You always compare these mcu shows with star wars and Disney movies where it's honestly kind of cringy along with all the fake fans in the comment section

I will say, Secret Invasion is something that should've been a movie, not a TV Show.

I think we should wait and see how these shows are before we make a judgement like that. The shows will have effects on the movies and will have longer run time by being in a show format. These are also not normal tv shows and have bigger budgets and will feel more like movies than most shows do.

Wierd how the ones you were the least excited for were the most good. Like the new what if. It’s has really good story’s and at first i didn’t like the animation but I started liking it the more I watched the show. I think the animation they made for the show looked the most like the mcu.

One of my only problems with Infinty War is that when they killed Loki, he died pathetically. Also I think Vision should be a bit better in Infinity war as well

Please watch umbrella academy. It may be a bit slow, but the overall story is great and the characters are really unique and well-developed, in my opinion. Great video as always!
I think its fine for them to use animation since its very limited to do an alternate version of the original story. But they need to make a better animation

I have a theory about Loki
At the start of the trailer, it shows the scene from endgame where Loki gets the tessarac and escapes. If you paid attention during some of the time travel scenes, the ancient one refers time to reality, so I’m thinking in that reality, Loki is alive however in the main MCU reality, Loki is still dead
Let's hope when Spider-Man 3 trailer comes out it will interested eric oh also did anyone see the All American season 3 trailer it looks interesting
