What color did u start this WC painting out with did I miss you saying on video? and did you just end up putting same color thru out but more concentrate form of the WC paint of same color. Did I miss you saying that also ?trying to absorb so much info this past yr so I can become my best WC painter for me, but I'm afraid I'm missing alot of revellent info.. being older student doing a new learning skill to build on other wc skills just to get elements right in a painting is daunting at times.. but like michele webber and ceecee creations Ellen crimi trent saids just breath have fun ..?am I making sense?...lol the look of this painting with the layering is fantastic...I've only have strahmore to practice on but it buckles if I put to much water and paint on paper I think after watching your video I'm sure or hoping I need to be patience and step away and let dry then apply more WC paint to areas to get that in depth look I so want to achieve.....I'll give it another go around....if not I'll have to start practicing on my arches paper ...which is scarey took me a yr to just save up enough money for a roll of it figured I'd just buy roll seeing as I've sketch over 500 sheets of computer paper ...skill building things...but I kinda feel like the character from lord of the rings ( "precious with the ring" hunch over, gazing at it... arches WC paper..lol)...lol maybe I'll just have to just use stratmore for sketching and mixed media fun.... very glad I found your channel...your answering question I've had on your videos I started watching over the weekend and was to afraid to look like a fraudster wc student by asking those questions that lingered in my mind to my other art teachers on line..... yeah to art teachers...thank you for passing on your skill ...😷👋🎨

HI Marc - Thanks for watching. Yes it was the same colour throughout. I mixed my set up a bit so im not exactly sure of the colours...but i think this was burnt umber. Yes I did dip back in at the end for some darker darks. Keep going - its tricky when learning watercolours....on the one hand you need to practice lots - but at the same time good paper isnt cheap...and the more expensive the more you can tighten up. The tree was painted on a BOCKINGFORD : SPIRAL FAT PAD - This paper works really well for the price! - good luck!

I feel kinda repetitive as I I get up earliest around 430am and practice art drawing sketcking shapes....and keep watching your videos as I try to gain more practice in on my sketching.... I've missed both classes you were offering on line before I found your channel on line di you think your going to do another art class on line?? I dont have facebook but is there a list I can add my name on to be aware of any upcoming online class...? Where I could leave my email address?altho I started doing rock art by dotting on them ;mandalas freestyle in the back of my mind I always wanted to do painting I was suggested to start watercolor by a water colorist friend whoes a artist over 20 yrs....but as I've managed to make some strides in this median I've watched you do oil paintings and finally realized how well layering is on oil work painting I couldnt never understand why people say watercolor is hard but now I get it the shading and layering without cauliflower and mucking up the colors is challenging..not that I can attempt to do oil painting I think.maybe in future if I win lottery I can buy oil supplies and give it a ago..if ..lol....but I'm amazed at how you flow so well from oil to watercolor and still get wonderful layering techniques and shading...two yrs in as a hobbyist artist I'm just getting better at sketcking and knowledge but my technique on watercolor paper....mehhh lol...good thing I can laugh at myself..I'm not sure if I ask about leaving email I've watched so many videos on different supplies from gel and gelato to WC to wcpencils charcoal graphite ink work, mix media, and trying to see museums thru virtual video walkthru I never knew I had so many brain cells left as I enjoy learning and reading .and when you mention a artist I try to find out about them go look on ytube fir museumthat shows their work and do a walk thru thank you for helping me further my bucket list.....many art blessing to you today 🎨✍

Thanks Marc. One of the best ways to learn oils is monochrome painting with burnt umber and titanium white! might be a way to make a start?
