Till 2022 admission university’s and visa process accepted medium of instruction but from next summer intake 2023 every one must give some English proficiency exam , that’s is what I know , you can also check in visa check like which is new one by that you got to know .

If you are talking about German employment visa then it don’t take much time after appointment if you are going on the bases of on site
Or if you are talking about green card it takes some time like student visa
But in conclusion it’s all depends on your documents , if you submitted everything perfect the process will be smooth if not it takes much time .

For ielts how much score we need to show. I have 5.5 overall

It’s depends on your administration university,if you got admit with 5.5 it’s okay , but mostly people look for 6above , in conclusion 5.5 is also okay nothing to worry for visa process , IELTS important to getting admission.
