Siliguri: Siliguri is a bustling city located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. It serves as a major gateway to the northeastern states and neighboring countries like Nepal and Bhutan. The city is known for its commercial significance and is surrounded by scenic landscapes.
Sevoke: As you leave Siliguri, you will pass through Sevoke, a small town famous for its picturesque Coronation Bridge over the Teesta River. The bridge offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and river.
Teesta Bazaar: Continuing on NH10, you'll reach Teesta Bazaar, a small market area near the Teesta River. This is a common stop for travelers to take a break and enjoy the views of the river and the surrounding greenery.
Rangpo: After crossing Teesta Bazaar, you'll enter the town of Rangpo, which marks the border between West Bengal and Sikkim. I would like to share some information. There is no requirement of permit for going to Sikkim by self driven personal car for indian nationals except for few restricted places. Rongpo checkpost and the town is bypassed if you avail newly constructed Atal Setu. Siliguri to Gangtok drive is easier than driving to Darjeeling. I have recently travelled to Gangtok, Namchi, Rumtek etc and returned via Karseaung, Takdah, Lamahatta, Peskok by my self driven Ford Ecosport from Durgapur. This was my maiden hill drive and found very comfortable. I would ask more people to venture and explore these places by self drive as you can enjoy the nature at your wish and without any tension.
