Thanks a lot, this was really helpfull!! I wouldn't have been able do make a card for my daughter without your help, I had no clue how to get music on a playlist. Now I know!
Hi! I am trying to follow the steps in your video and for some reason once I've highlighted a song and clicked file>convert> the mp3 file option is grayed out and unclickable. I changed my preferences though so I don't understand why it won't show the mp3 as an option?
Hi there! 9 months later but I’m commenting anyways in case someone else comes across this and has the same issue. Mine was the same way until I realized that the songs I was trying to convert weren’t technically downloaded to my computer. They were still sitting in the cloud. Once I clicked the download button, I was able to convert to mp3. :) hope this helps!
Once you have added your music, say 25 tracks, how do you find the track you want to listen to? I am trying to convert my books on tape to digital and looking for a way for my grandkids to be able to pick and listen to the books they want.
Is the music stored on the card or does the player have to be connected to wifi or bluetooth/app to play the music on the card? Is there a way to add music without using the app/website?
Hi Tara, I was trying to make some recordings with my iPhone. I couldn't find the file saving the recordings for adding to a playlist. Do you know how to do? Thank you so much!
What app were you using? If you use the Voice Recorder app on your iPhone you should be able to save the mp3 file and share it to your computer! Hope that helps!
Thank you for this helpful video. How do you find and save icons to be used? Also, how to you add homemade recordings like a parent reading a favorite book? Thanks
Thank you for this video. Have you experienced music buffering on the player once audio is downloaded? Our mini is doing so with a few songs. Would this be a glitch on the website I downloaded audio from or a faulty player?
Hmm, I haven’t noticed that happening with ours. I’d it is happening with all of your cards I would say it is the player, but if it’s just one card it could be the audio on the card.
I just discovered the yoto player. My daughter turns 4 in may and I think this is going to be her gift. Question I don’t have a laptop and want to make her card do you think I could use the library computers? Or is there another alternative to downloading content ?
Do you know if this is something that can be done using Spotify? I have some podcasts and songs my kids love that I would like to make into a card. Thanks! 🙂
Hi, is it possible to glue printed images on these make your own cards or would that damage them, thanks! Also you mention a discount code but I don’t see that? Thanks
Hi, thank you for the video. Just got my first Yoto and have a lot of questions. 😆 I linked some music to the welcome card, but it kind of becomes blank every time I turn the player off and on again. So I have to link the music to the card every time I switch the player on. Does it work like that??
Hi! Sorry the delay. We actually lost our welcome card, so I never got to try it out. You shouldn’t have to link it every time, you should just have to link it once! I would try reaching out to Yoto, they might send you a new card!
Yes, the cards can be used with any Yoto! I don’t think there is a limit of how many make your own cards you can have, I suppose it’s however many you decide to buy. We probably have about 10 make your own cards
We misplaced our welcome card so I never tried using it as a blank card. I would call or email support, because my understanding is the welcome card should work as a blank card!
Hmm it is possible it expired 😢. I believe the Hapa Family also has a coupon code, I would check out their video and see if her code works. So sorry! I’ll message them and see if I can get another code
I cannot figure out how to have Yoto download the MYO card to the player 😭😭😭 I don’t want to rely on wifi; we don’t even have wifi… (technically we use hotspot data). All her purchased cards download in less than a minute, but with MYO, it just sits in the “not downloaded” category. Anyone else have this issue? 😭😭😭 I’m still on the hunt to find an answer. It would have helped me along the way LOL
I read on the website that you can stream internet radio stations. I have tried to do this from I heart radio and a few other online radio sites by copying and url but it doesn't work. Have you successfully done this ? Their support hasn't given me much help. Or do you know what online site provides the right url for this kind of stream ? Thanks !
I did convert mine to mp3 for the first card because this video said that they needed to be mp3. But after that I read you don't need to and have had no problem with dragging it/saving it in a different folder in the format it is already in.
We bought a yoto. These are terrible devices. Not only do parents have to go to great lengths to set up what should be a simple system, the software is extremely invasive and anti-privacy. No reason for a phone to be connected to the devise. In the end a decent streaming app on an iPad with a Bluetooth speaker is a million times more straightforward for a child.

You are able to assign pictures to the different tracks and then you can use the Yoto player button to switch tracks!
You rock, Tara! What a helpful and beautifully made video. Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Really Nice tuto. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the tutorial, very useful.

Yes, I purchased the Blippi songs from iTunes
@@TaraWilloughby i don't use itunes and apple music since i'm an android user. can you also purchase songs from youtube music?

How about Audible? I have an audiobook book purchased that I want to put on a create your own Yoto card
I’m not sure, if you have access to the audio file on audible I would think you could. But I don’t know how audible works.
Amazing! Thank you, that was so easy to follow and exactly what I needed :)
Glad it helped!
Hi ! Thank you for the tutorial ! Do you know if it works with the yoto mini ? :)
Was going to do this while Stella played but I'm glad I saw your video first. Definitely needs more than 10% of my focus 😅 Thank you Tara!
Haha, yeah its a bit of a process!
Where is your little basket holder from please x
It’s from Ikea, the baskets come in a set of three nesting baskets
What about doing all this from your iPhone?
Thank you for this helpful video. How do you find and save icons to be used? Also, how to you add homemade recordings like a parent reading a favorite book? Thanks
Here is the link to recording your own stories: support.yotoplay.com/record-your-own-stories-11557
And as for the icons, you can upload any 16x16 PNG file (preferably with a transparent background) and it automatically changes it to pixels.
Any suggestions for sites I can download music for reasonable price? TY!
thanx! this is super helpful when starting w a Yoto!!🤩
So glad this was helpful!
What kind of pen do you use to write on the card?
I used a sharpie!

I think it would probably depend on the library and if they allow you to upload music files to their computer. Good luck!
Thank you very much.
Your video was really helpful but can you please say me whether i can make my own recordings and make it as a card!!
Hi! Yes, you can! You just need to record your audio and create an MP3 file :)

Can I get music from my cd's/I tunes list from my computer and add it to the yoto min player ?
Do you know if this is something that can be done using Spotify? I have some podcasts and songs my kids love that I would like to make into a card. Thanks! 🙂
Unfortunately streaming services do not allow you to download the music, think of it like you are “renting” the song. 🙁
How do you put iPhone voice memos on a yoto card?
Can I do this with my Apple Music subscription? Or do I have to purchase the music separately
It does not work with subscription services
Hi, is it possible to glue printed images on these make your own cards or would that damage them, thanks!
Also you mention a discount code but I don’t see that?
Thanks
I’ve never tried glue, but I’ve printed out stickers and haven’t had an issue. Unfortunately I no longer have a discount code with Yoto :(
Hi Tara! What is the promo code Yoto gave you? Am I missing it in the description?
I no longer have a code :(
Hi . Can we do the songs from RUclips ? Thank you
Thank You. Very clear explanation
So glad this was helpful!
@@TaraWilloughby yeah, right?
How do you purchase the songs if you have Apple Music? I don’t see an option to purchase (I subscribe to Apple Music).
They don’t make it easy, honestly I would just Google it- there are some other YT videos that show you how to purchase! It’s kinda a hidden feature!
@@TaraWilloughby i have mp3 files from youtube. that is an easier way.
How do you put audiobooks on the card? Is that possible? Easy?

No, you can’t use Spotify
I still have mixed feelings about the Yoto, but your video was SO MUCH BETTER than anything I found on the Yoto site. Many thanks!
