@@hikerbikeromar It should not be more than $5K. TREK has gotten arrogant just like Specialized and a few others. This bike is none other than a professional bike with a non professional level groupset on it. Some idiot will probably buy though because they think it will get them points in their club rides. Dummies.
@@wasupwitdat1mofiki94 I totally agree it should have been way cheaper. Seems a lot of these brands are trying to charge covid prices in a world where demand has shrunk and overall cost of living has gone up. I do hope next year these prices will drop so more people will have access to these types of bikes.
@@hikerbikeromar I don't see these companies lower prices willingly. They will be forced to file for chapter eleven protections. Only then will they find a way to get a cheaper option to market if they plan on staying in business. People are voting with their money but it isn't doing anything for newcomers who are looking to get into cycling. That's saddening because that number is big. The more people that cycle the healthier we are and all the other benefits for cycling that go with that.
I have the trek madone SLR gen7..i gave up my s-works SL7 and i couldnt be more happier..its faster, holds speeds better and very comfortable..i got it down to 16.6 lbs using TPU inner tubes..i like specialized but that sl7 tarmac would beat me up after just doing a short 30mile ride..with the madone i can ride for hours back to back..
Thanks for sharing! I am absolutely itching to try the Madone SLR Gen7. What I've heard about it matches 100% with what you describe about comfort and speed.
The ISO Flow is just marketing. When you ride in a group, it does not matter at all. Drafting does all the work. Just by looking at it , you can tell it is just for the looks, not for weight savings. But i can tell you it does look great. Your legs take most of that turbulence wind coming from that very nice head tube and down tube. That bottom bracket will be very stiff and great to ride, expecially when sprinting. I just do not like the gap between the down tube and the front wheel. For more Aero gain, it should be a lot closer. Here the gap is big. They are building bicycles like mordern cars. Looks good but do not last long. Major problems with that seat tube. To ride this you have to be about 65 to 70kg. The bike looks really good. riding it will be a different story.
$8K, let them sit on it. When the 2024 models come out the price will drop on this bike so they can move it. 105 is not the groupset you want on a racing bike.
It’s been in the back of my mind too! I have to trust they’ve done enough testing to ensure it won’t snap. Hopefully the warranty would cover any issues.
Need yr recommend【 cheapest Road Bike for Beginners 】 sub $1000 and a $1500 max recommendation. If U were to recommend for a friend who is new to cycling. I would ❤️ to see an indepth video of ur recommendations
Thanks for the suggestion! I think that is a great video topic and will most likely be something I cover shortly. In the $1k price range, I'd recommend the Specialized Allez. It's got pretty decent components for the money and overall has a great reputation. (www.specialized.com/us/en/allez/p/199476?color=322262-199476) For the $1500 price range, I'd probably opt for the Trek Domane AL 3. It's an excellent bike! For 8k you’re getting an Slr frame which is 5k, electronic groupset 2000 and the other 1000 for wheels, saddle, tire, handlebar. The price is fair. Wait another year for the sl frame and save 2k.
The price is not fair. $5K for a frame that only cost a few hundred maybe. The consumers are learning the tactics from these manufacturers. Shimano asking $2K for a groupset that is less expensive to produce than the mechanical versions cost to make. You can buy motorcycles for that price so asking 8 grand for a pushbike is ludicrous. Grow some common sense Arthur. Or you can be stupid and broke the rest of your life.
What is fair? Every bike brand top tier frames cost 4-5k sometimes even more. The only difference is now you have to go electronic. No one is forcing you to buy. I just explained how the cost for the madone is 8k. Why you attacking me? I don’t need you to explain how a manufacturer makes their money. Do you work for free? Don’t buy the bike if you don’t like it.

8 grand for a bike with 105 is unimaginable. Also at that price you'd want better than the god awful 105 rotors
I agree, I just can't get past the $8k price tag. Really wish this landed closer to $5k or $6k max.

Its not for aero, its for flex, because aero seat posts are stiff
Happy new year hiker biker Omar!!!!
Thank you! Same to you!
Since Mad Pedersen's top of the range pro version of this is over 8kg, better not to weigh this one, but 100% sits over 9kg.
Pro riding an 8kg bike ? You sure about that ?
They normal spec the bikes on UCI weight limit
I love Trek. I think this is their best bike to date, but 8k for a made-in-Taiwan frameset and a 105 group set? Common Trek !
SL7 Gen 7 for you.

Looks great, however 105s on ANY bike over 4 or 5k is unacceptable, let alone 8k. My $3200 emonda sl5 has 105....
Totally hear you!
Never in my life, my dream come true on this,
I just order the same model !
Wow man, nice! It’s a beautiful bike!
awesome

Trek has a lifetime guarantee on their frames. That was the only reason I could stomach buying this frame.
My dream bike.... $$$
Can aerobars be installed on this model?
They are actually already installed, but you can replace them with different ones if you like.

No doubt it's the rider more than the bike, but I think you are right that we can't deny the marketing that the stage wins carry.
Looks heavy, looks heavenly expensive for a di2 105…
Weight seemed typical for an aero bike when I picked it up and held it but I agree the price is nuts!!
