Sadly she is no more ;( but she lives on in a few of my videos. She definitely walked past the camera in a few. We still have her sister who is thankfully in good health still
@@freename Ah sad to hear that.! Being a cat person I noticed the familiar sounds . We have had many over the years and have 2 still ............. cheers
Thankyou this was really helpful, I’m not with BT either, if I had followed the instruction leaflet I’d have downloaded an app and all sorts. I was hoping however you’d shown how to connect the forth one as I don’t have a clue
Yea, sorry about that. At that stage I didn't know if I was going to send them back so didn't want to open up more than I needed to. I'm sure you can use the app to pair the new one or; more sensibly but more technical, find the IP address of the main disk from your DHCP list or routers "connected devices" list and then visit its IP / web page to look at the admin page. I've got a video on the web interface here: ruclips.net/video/odRdweG0EX8/видео.html
Thought does go into WiFi names being shown. In the case of the Whole Homes where only the last 3 digits are different there will be other kits in use across the country with the same ending 3 letters. The chance of someone watching the video... 1) bothering to search for the network 2) the network having been picked up by someone scanning and submitting it 3) them finding the right network out of all that exist in the UK with the same 3 letters at the end and 4) the person who did all that then finding it compelling enough to travel to the network, try the password on the chance it's the right network, and stay close enough to use it for any length of time is... Slim to say the least :) In some ways be my guest if you've gone to all that effort. However it would be easier to just join the open WiFi I run; no need to watch the video to get the password :)
Recently had full fibre 900 installed but super hub 2 had to be put into my sons bedroom at back of the house. My house is quite old and has thick walls so I’d get strong speeds just stood outside the bedroom but once downstairs it would drop right down to 30-40mbps. I setup a tp link m5 deco mesh system that I had but other than probably increase the reliability of connection hasn’t effected the speed much at all. Spoke to BT and I’m getting 3 BT Wi-Fi discs delivered tomorrow. Will these improve the speeds and overall signal strength In the house and will I be able to get closer to the 900mbps that I should get? Thank you
The notes I have about the M5 is "Are mediocre for meshing but good with ethernet backhaul. " So the chances are that the BT Whole Homes will perform better than the M5. Remember to place them somewhere with _good_ reception (test you get good speeds on your phone without a mesh box in first and if its good, then place the mesh unit there) so it picks up a good and fast signal to then re-transmit, there is little point putting them on the edge of coverage as it will then be repeating a slow/bad signal.
@@freename thanks for this info. Am I correct in thinking the Wi-Fi complete Wi-Fi discs that I’m getting once you complete the initial configuration wired to the superhub I am of the understanding that unlike the whole homes system you don’t require one Wi-Fi disc to be wired to the hub at so times so consequently you can use the 3 discs around the house to hopefully create a stronger signal/coverage?
@@LewisM1984 That is what I've seen for previous installs; yep. The BT Hub itself becomes the "main disk" and allows you full use elsewhere of all the stand alone disks you are sent. Note that 1) Often customers are charged £18 or more per month for the whole home stuff! [possibly starting after a free period?] and 2) You will need to send them back if you leave, if you are likely to change provider make sure you keep in mind that you will need to either "forfeit" them (buy them off BT at a discounted price) or buy your own newer Mesh kit.
@@freename these are the Wi-Fi discs that come with complete Wi-Fi service from BT but I think I’ve now been put on the Halo3 package with complete Wi-Fi. Is I game online using my pc and XSX I’m hoping I can place one of the discs downstairs in the front room where my pc is will I then be able to connect my pc to it wired using the Ethernet port? What will the speeds be like would you know? Thanks for your help
You can have one but why would you do that rather than just using the WiFi built into your main router? The disc would need to be next to or plugged into the router which means it's in the same place as the router and wouldn't provide any better or different coverage.
These are just wireless bridges so you keep your router too. Beware: there's only one reliable BT Whole Home variant and it is these (the whole home premium and mini variants are unreliable and bad). You also need to be absolutely sure it's on the latest 13 Build07 firmware if buying them as any older firmware devices can now no longer be configured or setup by the app nor can they be updated as the update server they use no longer exists! (Yay for cloud services and apps!)
The black ones often are an additional fee per month(rented) from BT and need returning at the end of your contract. Often called BT Total WiFi or something.

Love the wireless password key. Someone didn't think it through...Or did they?

Which Wi fi disc get white disc or black disc bt are they any good
Is it possible to just have 1 disc or do u need to have all 3 or even 2 for it to work ?

do you still use your original router or do these replace the old router?

@freename I got 4 secondhand ones and only 2 worked but that was good enough to be honest.
What happened or didn't happen with the non working ones?

Well that was a waste of my time! You had four disks and you didn’t show the install of the forth disk.
Plug fourth disk into your network either at the router or at a satellite. Go into app and select add another and off you go.
