I went to Anime Expo for the first time in 2014 and it was so crowded! I remember we waited so long (HOURS) to get into the Viz panel that year for the big SM announcements. But all in all I had a great time. I was very curious how post pandemic AX would be. Sucks it was so disorganized. :/

nice to hear other's people experiences! never been to anime expo but been attending Anime NYC and last year was SO crowded an unorganized, literally all the points you mentioned! anime has gotten so popular, it's hard to enjoy convections anymore because it's hard to walk anywhere inside and having to line up 2+ hours to enjoy ANY event

I only wanted to go to Trash Taste panel, but man was that a nightmare of a line. 😱

Sorry to hear you experience, but don't let your other fans on here think that u shouldn't go to the event, it can be a amazing experience because each person has different goals in mind, so to those people keep it up.

I feel like I’ll eventually check out AX, but I haven’t heard great things 😭

ax was a mess! i feel lucky because i've been to LACC before so i already knew the layout of the convention beforehand. but the lines were insane, no mask wearing was enforced, hell they barely checked vaccination cards, no ventilation in the artist alley... i went to 2 panels (dr. stone & made in abyss) but had to start waiting in line at like 6:30 am to get in at 10 am lol.

ah sorry you didn’t have the best experience! last time i went to ax was in 2018 and before then i’ve gone many times but every year it seemed to get more crowded and less organized,, in like 2012 it was easy to go to all the panels you wanted etc but like you said now you can maybe do one event if you don’t mind waiting all day for it, it’s a shame that it is that way and the only solution i could think of is maybe capping tickets for the event as a whole but they would never do that because money, i didn’t attend this year bc i didn’t like how they didn’t really have a plan for safety related things and them announcing they weren’t requiring vaccination like a week before the event then they retracted that due to backlash etc just a mess, i would go again in the future though but my friends and i use it as more of a yearly get together bc we live all over so even just getting together and hanging out in the convention center is fun,, other than that artist alley is my favorite part but that is getting progressively worse since they shoved it in the hot basement with no crowd control so ya 🥲 also also sorry for this long comment but most the employees at ax are volunteers and i’ve heard in the past they themselves barely get any info on what they are supposed to do which contributes to the confusion and unorganizedness of it all,, if you ever go again i hope you have a better experience! and hope you have fun at comic con
