For 25 years (since 1981)i lived in a small village next to Heathrow Airport and everyday since i was a kid i saw her takeoff twice a day and land twice a day. By the time i was 8 i knew what time it was simply by her take offs - around 9am, 11am and 7pm - and her landings - 5:30pm, 9pm and 10pm.
I heard and felt her roar shake every window in our house. I saw her cross the perimeter road at the maintenance barriers a thousand times. I saw her countless times from the top of the Queens buildings. I saw her go from the red tail, to Landor tail to New tail. All i needed was to hear that high pitch whine to know she was taxiing for take off and just wait for the roar, and the aftermath of car alarms going off aswell as barking dogs!
In other words, i literally grew up with Concorde.

Fabulous memories thank you for sharing. I used to go plane spotting at Heathrow Airport and purposely parked the car in the fight path in the car park to see Concorde fly low over us when she was coming in to land and her engine raw when taking off was unmistakable. She is such a beautiful plane and I live in hope to see her fly again maybe at an airshow. ✈️🤞

That was awesome. I was at OSH in '88 also, and took a Concorde flight. I recall there were several flights each day. The flight I was on, did a touch and go on the return to OSH, and the FAA then afterwards, disallowed the Concorde from doing touch and goes with passengers on board during an airshow. Before we took off, the pilot announced that folks should face forward during takeoff, as the high G's might cause vertigo in some folks if trying to look out the very small windows. The kick of the "reheats" was incredible, and the captain did a hard left turn during climbout that was also surprising. You'll never experience g-forces like that in a conventional airliner.

Thanks for sharing the video! I camped out at EAA that year--the drought of '88. I remember roasting in my tent all night long and when the sun came up, it was an oven! I didn't get much sleep that week, but I sure had a heck of a great time. This video brings back some great memories of that week. Thanks again!

I was there also. I forgot about the drought/heat. You're right, it was miserable.

ACTUALLY--A APOLLO ASTRONAUT SAID ( CAN'T REMEMBER HIS NAME) THAT THE CONCORDE PROJECT, WAS ,TECHNICALLY, FAR GREATER THAN THE APPOLO MOON PROJECT. OR ANYTHING ELSE IN THE 20TH CENTURY.
OBTAINING A LICENSE ,TO FLY 100+ PEOPLE AT MACH 2, NEAR SPACE, IN TOTAL SAFETY AND LUXURY. WITHOUT ANY EXTRA SAFETY CLOTHES, HELMETS ,OR MASKS ETC ETC , SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, WEEK IN AND OUT --IS BEYOND CONPREHENSION. THE WHOLE PLANE STRETCHED WITH THE FRICTION CREATED HEAT , AND BACK AGAIN WHEN COOLING, ETC ETC ETC WTF ???
