Sawmill blade? As in the oscillating ones they had in the old sawmills (obv given its 100 years old)? Just be sure it's not a felling saw. Those things even unrestored can go for a lot of money if in decent enough Condition. I'd recommend selling it in that case and just buying some decent scrap steel with a lot left over for other things. If you can sell steel for more than the price of steel, sell it. And if you cant, use it.

While these swords making are nice and all, they're not the real one so I can't accept them as real samurai swords. How can you expect for anyone to takes you serious when you short-cut your work! Haven't you seen how long it took them to made one sword? Don't get me wrong though it's a nice short blade or sword but for me to call it wakizashi samurai sword is virtually zero. However it's a nice short blade.
@@stevealford230 But he differentialy hardened the blade but without clay! Probably only japanese use clay but other asian nations do that just by submerging a fragment of the blade in water or even by pouring water on it and etc. But maybe later he really add some fake hamon 🤨 😉
You are brainwashed (sorry 😀). It is not a piece of art but a sword for "normal" people . And not all antique Nihontos were perfect. Have you ever heard about Tabagatanas ( kazu uchi mono)? And what about the price of so called "real japanese swords"-They are expensive even for most westerners.
@@Locutusoftheblackpillum @MrX He held a template over it and ground in a fake hamon. That interrupted quench he did won't make the wave pattern that is on that final result. And "pouring water on it," lol, no... that won't give a successful quench. I am a bladesmith. He did an edge quench, which is a differential hardening, and he did it interrupted, which is bad and makes stresses and weaknesses, and doesn't give you a pattern of waves... and then he used a metal template at the grinder to create a fake wave hamon. EDIT: I watched another of his videos right before this one, and you can clearly see the template separate from the blade at the grinder in one of the videos, if it's not this one it's that one, virtually identical video title, content, and result. It's possible to make inexpensive blades without the fraudulent fake hamon bullshit. And the ONLY way to get patterns and waves in the hamon is with clay: an edge quench just gives you a straight line hamon... and an interrupted quench that you interrupt multiple times will give you a blade that isn't reliable. It's amazing that it survived the little test swings through water bottles. And what he showed immediately after the quench wasn't a hamon, it was the difference in temper colors on a freshly quenched piece of metal, but that goes away after it normalizes. ANY steel, even ones that don't create hamons, will look like that right after a partial quench.
Masya Allah ..
Keren.
Harus dilestarikan kemampuan pembuatan bilahnya ..
Nice job. Great to see craftsmen do forging without thousands of dollars of equipment

you didn't make wakizashi, wakizashi is what you used to make the mold for the forging ,and you did katane chisa
Katana means sword or saber in Japanese . and its nomenclature depends on its length... wakizashi the shortest, chisa the middle shirasaya the longest
Shirasaya means that it has an undecorated wooden handle and sheath, it has nothing to do with length, also the shortest japanese sword is called a tanto
