It seems like on all levels the devs want both organized clans and unorganized solo players to be necessary. You will probably need an organized group to maintain that facility. (You can build a facility solo, but it is exhausting. Maybe if you only want one ship?) However getting the rare metals/alloys does need much organization. Meanwhile crewing the ship requires a core crew in the seats which are organized, but also benefits from having unorganized randos to repair holes, load shells, and bail water.
@@babyboijeremy I honestly think calans might want to have randoms around, especially on the battleships. We'had a leak in our testing battleship and spent a solid half hour just bailing water with three people. So for ammo running, bailing and sealing leaks I suppose clans want randomws around. Moreover, the base ship when anchored will act as a normal base, so there's no preventing randoms to join the landing. The storage ship's stockpile is public, so as soon as that is deployed everybody has access as well
I like that design philosophy a lot. It also kinda incentivizes experienced groups to guide randos and interact with them. Which makes the game more fun for everybody.
@@FreerkHoltes bigger clans that can run battleships by themselves won't, though as it can be quite challenging for them to get 30 to the front on a fully crewed battleship
Whenever my clan does arty ops we usually have a number of randoms to help load and repair especially with 3+ guns. Battleships essentially are mobile artillery batteries so randoms are necessary to run them around the clock.
Thanks for explaining - I always love your videos when I'm looking for Foxhole info. TIP: Build switches for the cranes so you don't need to disconnect the cables everytime.
Yeah switches would've taken care of that. Just bear in mind that half the time when things go "wrong" they go wrong for a reason: to show something ;)
Why didn't you use the gangplank for getting off the destroyer when you were repairing it? And how come the gangplanks aren't deployed when a ship finishes repairing/building? Seems to make getting on the ship a lot more difficult...
Things got a bit messy after the devs in all their wisdom decided to flip the names. Part of my footage is from before the change, very few shots are from after. There were also some changes to the dry dock, it had a normal stockpile (for weapons and supplies) at first, but now only can hold the ship segments. SO I had to redo quite a bit

already guess but this confirmed it. i will never see ship combat in foxhole. and it will be the same for many others. i love the game but even getting tanks is a ball ache for a solo/2-3 man team. especialy when all rescorces are already claimed by clans. i had some hope for this update, if the factory was a natrual area, i could see my self getting my mates on and getting a ship. but since its player made its gonna be the same as all playermade factories, closed off and you get body blocked if the group who made it are toxic. i love foxhole, but somtimes the bad apples of the game are a real obsitcal and im unsure if the devs can do anything about it.

So instead of making front line fighting viable beyond novices and unorganized players they make more extreme costing facilities and vehicles that can only be accessed by die hard logi players
Good! It's dedicated logi players/groups that do 80% of the work in each war, so...they deserve 80% of the rewards. You can't just expect to do zero effort and get to use a super powerful machine of war
@tevarinvagabond1192 It's really funny how you got that interpretation from a sentence that is pretty damn clear. He didn't say "people who put in no effort deserve to be part of the reward". Clans dont want solo's around though. And majority wins.

Good question. Here's why: you can't deploy the gangways when you are not anchored.
ho damn, yeah they changed metal to alloys and alloys to metal when you created this video.
good job as always Freerk
Great video!
Thank you!
thank you so much i have no idea how much effort this took
Thanks for the video! Really helpful information!
Very cool! Gonna join a regiment and build a destroyer! Can't wait
I recommend BOAT for Collies and FWG for Warden if you want a sub
Thanks for the video! I hope the algorythm helps other players finding this tutorial
Good video! We need a guide about sonars, ballasts and other complicated things, how to use them with demonstrations!
The destroyer video will have the sensor operation, I'm not sure if I can get access to a submarine though at this time.
Will definetly try to, though
Good video freerk been a while o7 see you on the ocean
Alloys* very funny and I needed that this morning
I’m surprised dry dock isn’t just a set world building
Great video, can you also make tutorial for making those ship parts?
That is actually in the works. Hopefully finished (my) tomorrow

You correcting yourself in the annotation, but it is indeed Metal, alloy is what your scroop which needs to be refined into the metal.
It was changed in the most recent update to be the other way round.

When the ship is done fixing the drydock fills automatically with water?
Apparently.

does repairing also unfloods the ship?
I don't think you can repair a ship that has water in it. But I'll have to test that
I'm struggling to get started.
I can't find any Rare Metals in game.

Cool
0:05 you named 5 ships, but showed 6
Submarine is only warden, destroyer is colonial only. So you can make 5 ship on shipyard, but there is 6 new ships.
@@alexturnbackthearmy1907 that would've made 5 icons per side, 6 total names
here it's the other way around - 6 icons with 5 names

Pretty sure it got mentioned in the responses, but the reason there's five is that both factions have a battleship (each with their own icon)
how do you make rare alloys?
