Electromagnetic waves are formed of electric and magnetic field.
Electromagnetic waves are produced by movement of charge particle
In atom electron is the charge particle which moves from one level to another producing electromagnetic waves
Depending upon the energy of electromagnetic waves they are classified into different types example uvrays , x rays ,infrared, visilbe light etc
We study electromagnetic wave during study of structure of atom because it explain how different types of waves are emitted by an atom
