I feel that way about a lot of the old graphics that are now frozen in history. That being said, this has been a long time coming. Especially wing vapor!
This is the only reason why I’m coming back to the game, quality of life updates always seem to make me more excited than major vehicle/aircraft updates😭
And after 4 matches you'll remember why you left 🤣 the damage models are all different, teams are just as bad if not worse with the premium sale happening, and (could just be me) since they made it so you can't lose money, payouts have tanked
@@kingtigor I think that change isn't very significant; I only noticed it on a couple of planes. I've only unlocked the US tech tree up to 10.7, so I don't have many planes that I could show 🥲. That's the reason why most of jets here are premium
It still confuses me why they don't add different style of afterburners to the respective aircraft. Older Cold War jets like those in the century series were often powered by a Pratt & Whitney afterburning turbojet with a single stage "pop-on" afterburner. Other jets like the J35 Draken and Mig-21 also have pop-on afterburner. How Gaijin has modeled all afterburner for all jets that would have it, is closer to a more modern 5-7 stage variable afterburner system which is the standard on all modern afterburning jet engines today. Between archived footage of these old jets flying, and footage of flyable examples today, there should be no lack of information about the topic
Thanks for showing them on exisiting planes, I feared we'd only get them on the new aircraft for now. And damn, they even updated the oldest ones like the F-100 and F-89. That's got to be one of my fav parts of the update
I kinda liked the old Super Sabre afterburner. The raw look of it made it feel less refined, as if it was truly the result of humans only beginning to understand afterburners and jet propulsion in general.
Some of these in the video are actually bugged. As much as I hate to say it, you've caught some afterburners with their visual bug. The F11 Tiger is a great example as you don't even see the flame at all. It's not supposed to be like that and you have to restart the game in order for it to work again. The same thing goes with some other afterburners like on the MiG-23MLD in this video. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it but what I've noticed is that there almost look like there are 2 separate flames in each others at the same time, when it's actually supposed to only be one. There's this faint outline flame which is not supposed to be there and requires you to restart the game again in order to fix it. On the other hand the F-20 TIgershark is a great example of what it's supposed to look like. I noticed this the first time I test flew the Su-34 and I was astonished with the new design, but when I wanted to hop in another test flight and record it, I noticed it looked a bit different, it looked closer to how it used to look like before, and I thought to myself like "I could've sword it looked way prettier before". And that is until I figured it out after restarting the game.
I only found 3 planes that I could test drive to show you new vapor trails. I saw it only on F-5, F-20 and Kfirs. Most of the jets are locked for me unfortunately :((
@@TheMikiosunfortunate 😢 i was able to try the dev server and i found the following jets i was able to use to have the vapour, f5e, f16, f15, mig 21, mig 29, su 27. i really hope they improve the look of the effect and hope they can improve the coding for activation times like airspeed and maybe temperature and altitude since they already kinda have those values in the game and in each map

the glow changes on the afterburner too if you go from 101% and move it up 1 notch each time it gets brighter

@ but the afterburner looks cool 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Finally they got rid of these old terrible afterburners 😁
Here's to them never returning

now we need realistic visual damage effects with jets when being hit by missiles like parts of fuselage cut off and no only wings

tail and wings come off
