Jonas Kaufmann is superb. His voice is so gorgeous - warmth, expression and strength. If a rich, luxurious velvet could be represented in a voice, it would be in Jonas Kaufmann's. Kate Aldrich is absolutely wonderful and they sing together really well.
They are a beautiful couple - and Kate Aldrich sings well as Charlotte. But JK as Werther is truly believable in Act 1's - first ecstacy, then in the devastating discovery of Charlotte's obligation to fulfill her mother's dying wish. He is always so real as the persona he is singing.
