Hey there! This printer is a white toner, so it's different than a DTF. It has the advantage over DTF printers in that the white toner printers don't' require daily maintenance. I have a printer comparison here if you want to check it out! www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html
Thank you so much for your detailed review!! I am at a toss up because I feel it would be great but I wanted to know can you use this type of print on a glass tumbler/can? Once printed and transferred to sheet B can you place it on the glass cup and press it in a cup press? I really like the white underprint option for glass so you can see the print better then sublimation….is this possible? And if so what do you think the longevity of it is?

What about print size? Also roughly how long would you say your cartridges last? I’m currently using a DTF which has a nice output. But I’m tired of the maintenance!
The. print size on the 560 is 8.5x 14. You can create larger transfers by using the SmartCut option which will allow you to basically tile a design and then reassemble on the shirt

Hey there! I use Silhouette Studio and then export to ProRip to print. I have a full design guide for Silhouette Studio here: www.ultimatesilhouetteguide.com/collections/frontpage/products/the-ultimate-silhouette-guide-to-designing
How do the prints last after they have been washed for a few months? Coming from sawgrass I’m concerned that they wont hold up as well, what is your experience?
There's definitely a difference because with sublimation the ink is being infused into the fibers of the fabric. With any type of heat transfer whether it's DTF, laser transfers like these or HTV the transfer sits on top of the fabric. The quality of the transfer over time is largely determined by how the art work is prepared and how the transfer is applied. If it's done correctly you should experience minimum cracking.
Did you use the original cartridges’s that came with the printer or did you use the Sublimation cartridge’s to heat press the image on 100% cotton tee shirt
I have a few Questions. 1) I seen in other video of this printer, that you have to let it cool before you pull off the printed sheet off other wise you could pull up the designoff the shirt.. So my question is. this is like a Vinal tranfer where if you run your hand over it you can feel what you printed on it. or is this like dye sublimation that the ink is now part of the shirt and you cant feel the design) 2) also i seen you can do things like coffie cups, Do you have to use specal cup made for this type of ink to hold your design. or will any coffie up work. 3) Will this work with dye sublimation items (like those front licenes plates for cars ID's. and more.) Thanks much.

How many washes can these shirt designs handle? Like heat transfer vinyl is very durable to about 20-30 washes, vs ink transfers I really have no idea on? Would really like to get into something like this! Or Direct To Film. Thanks!
I don't have a WT printer yet but am wanting to get one, I know the uninet i560 seems to be the most popular but I came across the Ricoma luminaries 2000 WT printer they currently have a deal with zero interest and payments as low as $70 per month which includes a heat press, I already have a heat press so i guess i'd end up with a back up. I have been happy with the results. There is some cracking but it's not unlike garments I have purchased from the store that have graphics which crack over time as well. You can reduce cracking with various techniques such as knockout and rasterizing to reduce the size of solid areas in the transfers.
@@SilhouetteSchool very thorough review! How many washes before you noticed cracking? I presently print dtg and get a minimum of 30 washes before any loss of quality.
@@mainboard1987 It depends on how you prepare the design (rastorize / knockout the shirt color). It's definitely a transfer and with all transfer there will be some cracking.

I have not experienced any peeling or fading with the white toner transfers..the issue is usually more around cracking. A lot of how well it washes has to do with how well it's applied and rasterized before. the transfer is printed. If you are looking for the best printer to create t shirt transfers there are several different options. This should help: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html

@@SilhouetteSchool you are the best thanks. the problem was i had the wifi still connected to the i color and the cord wouldn't allow the printer to print. thank you for all your great tips. fan for life!!
@@SilhouetteSchool awesome, I know there is no white so light color and white garments only for icolor sublimation but how is the feel does it feel the same as a traditional dye sublimation print and press and can you do cotton or only poly like traditional DS?
I'm in the market for a dtf machine, is the a+b media film really $180 for 25 sheets? Or is there a more affordable option option of film that can be used? Thanks in advance!
They don't fade b/c the toner is a powder and it's colored unlike ink that can fade. However if you don't prepare the file correctly - as in there's not enough space or it's not rastorized correctly - you can get cracking.
sublimation is far more durable. we have an icolor 550 and run it in both sublimation and white toner modes and most people prefer sublimation because it lasts far longer.
So if you needed to print black, there is no black toner or is there black and you swap out the white toner for the black so its then CMYK or does it print black by mixing the CMY toners?
Yes there is black toner...and you are correct that when you want to use the white toner, you need to take out black and then black is made with CMY. There's a photo in this blog post that shows www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/11/how-to-make-stickers-with-white-text.html
I usually buy "screen print transfers" from different businesses and facebook groups but i am tired of spending $4-$5 per transfer. is this the printer they print those with? Or is it the eco-solvent printer? sorry im trying to do research to do my own transfers now as i am selling quite a few shirts..
Hey there! I'd suggest exploring the "which printer to get next" graphic on this page: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html There's also a pros and cons list for each kind of printer.
Screen print transfers are just that, they are screen printed 1 color at a time onto the transfer instead of the garment. Eco solvent is a cmyk outdoor rated printer that prints onto htv. I see its been 5 months since you posted but in case someone else comes along.
I think they are nice being able to print white but I don't understand is everything I'm hearing and reading is when you put these on clothes it will only last like 50 washes. It's almost a waste if the ink won't last on the clothes.
Hi, we just purchased our model and the program appears to be giving us issues. Have you ever experienced it printing the same image repeatedly? After the job is complete and we attempt to print a different image, it prints the previous one no matter what adjustments we can find to troubleshoot

I get get my white to print, I have the same printer. Any advice please help
I can’t get
how many times can you wash a garment made with a uninet before it starts peeling/fading etc? I've been reading most last only 4-5 washes?! :(
I have not experienced any peeling or fading with the white toner transfers..the issue is usually more around cracking. A lot of how well it washes has to do with how well it's applied and rasterized before. the transfer is printed. If you are looking for the best printer to create t shirt transfers there are several different options. This should help: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html
Yes, I have heard this too. Especially with the white toner. I'm hoping more will jump in and tell us how their products have washed up.
But how does it wash does it fade or feel wrinkly?
As with anything, the gentler the care, the better your design will wear. You do not want to dry on high heat.
Can you upload your owne designs from adobe photoshop?
Yes
Once the image is pressed does it have a vinyl feel to it like printable htv does
It's between a screenprint and HTV. It has a hand but not quite as stiff as HTV.
hey I have followed your channel and love it. I'm having trouble with spooling error could you help or point me to someone that could help. Thanks
Hi there! Without further details, it's hard to help troubleshoot. You can find our email on this contact us page: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/blog-page_9.html
@@SilhouetteSchool you are the best thanks. the problem was i had the wifi still connected to the i color and the cord wouldn't allow the printer to print. thank you for all your great tips. fan for life!!
Does the 560 also take their sublimation toners or is that another icolor model?
Yes, the iColor 560 will take the sublimation toners
@@SilhouetteSchool awesome, I know there is no white so light color and white garments only for icolor sublimation but how is the feel does it feel the same as a traditional dye sublimation print and press and can you do cotton or only poly like traditional DS?
I'm in the market for a dtf machine, is the a+b media film really $180 for 25 sheets? Or is there a more affordable option option of film that can be used? Thanks in advance!
For DTF? Not the DTF film sheets are about $90 for 200 sheets..prices slightly vary from that depending on the size of the DTF sheet. shrsl.com/3z16t
How do these transfers wash when compared to HTV and sublimation or even transfer paper that I can use with any sort of printer?
They don't fade b/c the toner is a powder and it's colored unlike ink that can fade. However if you don't prepare the file correctly - as in there's not enough space or it's not rastorized correctly - you can get cracking.
sublimation is far more durable. we have an icolor 550 and run it in both sublimation and white toner modes and most people prefer sublimation because it lasts far longer.
Roughly how much prints can you get out of one set of toner ink?
The standard is about 7,000 pages however it really will depend on your use and the colors you print with most.
I have a Dell laptop and desktop all in one, would that software work on these? Not to sound dumb
The Rip software runs on PC, so yes it should be fine as long as you have enough room for it on your computer
I think they are nice being able to print white but I don't understand is everything I'm hearing and reading is when you put these on clothes it will only last like 50 washes. It's almost a waste if the ink won't last on the clothes.
Hey there! As with any handmade item, then gentler the care, the longer the wear!
Hi, we just purchased our model and the program appears to be giving us issues. Have you ever experienced it printing the same image repeatedly? After the job is complete and we attempt to print a different image, it prints the previous one no matter what adjustments we can find to troubleshoot
Hey there! Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the software?
Can this printer do actual photos? Like photos of people.
It can print anything you send to it. It's a laser printer :)
Does the software it comes with work on Mac?
You either need to use a Windows Computer or a Windows emulator on your Mac to be able to use the software.
How do I get larger images than 8x11?
You can print up to 8.5x14 standard or you can use the SmartCut feature to print larger images and piece them together
Hola, My I color 56O Is new, but I can't use cause error messange "toner set error" . Can You help me to solve this issue? Gracias.

Was there a reason you got the i560 instead of the i650? I am trying to decided between the two. Also how long does the transfer last? as in if printed and not used, how long can you store it?
The 560 suits my needs well! Check out all of the blog posts we have on the 560 here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/uninet-icolor-560-printer-and-pro-rip.html
How long transfers last??? Depends on who you ask. Many get over 50 washes with ease. Others have issues after 2 to 5 washes. You gotta know what you are doing
@@naturalhealthrevolution1518 😮 I would like my shirts to last 50 washes plus but I’m nervous to buy this printer and i have an issue with it being 2-5 washes. I bought a dtf printer and hated it so much . It clogged up on me .
Does this printer needs to be used daily and or maintenance daily??
@@swtxvi3txhuni it does not need to run daily. Its toner not ink. You do need a certain type of heatpress if you want to have less issues and get great durability
My cuestión is the original toner that came with is the one we use to transfer on clothes. Or we need to buy separately??
does anyone have any advice i just bought this i live in America & they sent me it with a European power cord for the pritner .. iv been searching for a converter or something but cant find anything to fit that voltage ?. please neone !. lol. tha ks in advance !.
Hey there, I would reach out to the retailer you purchased it through.
@@SilhouetteSchool thanks I ended up doing thAt before I seen this & they were very understanding & it was an accident to begin with & they are sending out the right one !. appreciate the response keep doen ya thing !. 🫡🫡
I know you recorded this almost 1 year ago. Do you still feel the same?
Yes!
@@SilhouetteSchool Is that a better purchase than the DTF printer you recently reviewed? The one that also had some contraption like a hose coming out if it.
I feel it takes too long to print if it ever prints…
the biggest con is you use a mac :D
a you have witnessed first hand you can do much more on a windows computer, just use one ... a pc
