I have watched 100's of barber experiences shared from all over the world.. The two traditional experiences you have shared are par non the most amazing I have ever seen. The master seen here demonstrates the best skin stretching techniques of any I have ever seen. I am going to make sure that The Nomad Barber and Haircut Harry are aware of the Japanese masters.

This barber is like a sleeper car. His skill is subtle. I've watched many shaves. Many great barbers. But this man combines precision and sheer speed like very few I've seen. I've always admired the Japanese work ethic and their pride in craftsmanship. And of course, Space Battleship Yamato, haha.
The barber has a meticulous attention to detail and they are such lovely people in the shop.
I think the cut makes you look a few years younger, nice cut.

This was fun to watch brother I'm a barber myself and let me tell you one thing although his technique is a bit different from the way I was taught in California he did an amazing job even trimming the hairs in your ears that's awesome! I'd love to work in japan as a barber but I heard it's pretty hard to get hired for that type of work especially because there isn't a big demand for barbers over there but I might be wrong though. I'd love to share my techniques with fellow japanese barbers. Great videos brother keep them coming and keep living the dream of living in Japan since a lot of us can't YET!!! Good luck with everything! !

Have you ever heard of ASMR? It's on wiki if you want to look it up, but basically it's this tingling reponse people get from certain visual and audio stimuli in their head and neck area :) There are a lot of ASMR videos like this and even roleplays where it is like the person in the video is cutting your hair and giving you a shave :) These kinds of videos are very relaxing and some people use them for insomnia :) Totally got the tingles from this video, I like to see people get pampered because it almost feels like it's happening to me :) I'm sorry if this message is weird but I think other ASMR people will be thinking this too xD!

I told him about it last time he did a barber video too and if I recall correctly he sort of knows what it is. Shame he isn't an ASMRtist (actively, on purpose anyhow)

kewlness! I wanted to be a hair stylist when i was young but my father would not let me, made me go to school for basic office schools instead. Lke what he did stylewise. it's fun to get a 'fresh' look. thanks for posting this hair styling experience by a traditional barber.

Did you ever go back to the first barber shop you did the video in - that rates as my favourite vids on youtube even now, the art of a true barber shop really lives over there, shame its gone in most countries - even the UK.
I recently learnt the word 写真and you said it!! :) That makes me feel quite happy, lol

holy crap dude, that guy is a master barber, very skilled with that strait razor. When he pulled that razor out I was saying Qwa the same time you were. You were like a sneeze away from loosing an ear, my mouth dropped open just watching that. I think I would really REALLY have to trust someone to let them get that close to me with a blade like that.
By the way, I found this video so relaxing for some reason.

Still the best! Something about older barber videos that the newer ones can’t capture. Maybe the white noise is more prevalent because of lower camera quality back then, etc

The barbers' wife is an excellent camerawoman. The image is steady as a tripod!
And the funny thing is she wasn't even looking. She was just standing there looking off to the side. I was worried the whole time that she wasn't actually filming me.

In 1968 we imported a barber to Thailand to cut the westerners hair. I never really knew where he came from, but your two videos have convinced me he was from Japan. Exact same haircut, ear work and shave. By the way, the mustache should have gone the way of the goatee.
This vid is awesome. You should go back to this same barber for another haircut one day, he seems to do a really good job.
It's amazing to see how much attention to detail was involved in each step of the process.

他の都県でも禁止する条例無うても京都大阪で禁止の流れ受けて理髪店側が｢やったらアカン｣と自発的に自粛しとるさけ｢耳刀で耳毛剃る理容室｣は少ななった
そもそも耳毛剃り自体理容師の腕を信頼してこその話 ヘタな理容師やったらそらごっつう怖い

i´d return to this barber 4 shure. he gives a good cut with some cheap shears, is decent, polite and 4 shure can give you the latest news from the neighborhood. that´s what makes a good hairdresser.

Victor - another great film. Totally intrigued with the start of the process with the hair wash and towel rub over. They all seem to do this in your films. A pre-wash? The whole process with towels and capes is very relaxing
