I’m glad you got to experience a trials tire!
Interested in both the EXE800 (EXE880 is too tall) and the EX800. Probably leaning towards the EX800 as I use my electric dirtbikes for tight, gnarly single track and I have fullsize ICE dirtbikes and ATV for higher speed, longer distance trail riding (hence why I'm not looking at the EX880 or Stark Varg). Like the Surron Ultra, but they need more range, better suspension and larger battery. Those may come eventually from the factory as options, but currently, one has to spend $7,000 - $8000 to in aftermarket 21/18 wheelsets, bigger battery and top level suspension to get the Utra Bee up to par. To me, it's a waste paying for stock parts that one is going to shelve and replace. I want manufacturers to offer high end components as options so we can order those right from the factory. Much more economical that way as well.
For my use case, the EX800 comes with plenty of power, large enough battery, and 21/18, so that leaves only the suspension. Other reports have mentioned the stock EX800 suspension isn't quite as good as the stock Ultra Bee. But Arctic Leopard offers the optional $1,500 TECH Shocks for the EX800. If that is high quality suspension, then the EX800 will be my next bike. Have you gotten in any bikes with the TECH shocks? How often are you getting in bikes? Your website shows everything as pre-order. How do you only do pre-order or are you building up stock to have bikes available immediately? Looking to get a new eDirtbike next spring so hopefully there will be more info on TECH shocks by then, better availability and perhaps any bugs that turn up will be resolved and more refined.
Where are you located? We do drop ship the bikes. We get them in and they sell so quick for locally that hanging onto them is hard and I don't bother showing the inventory. As of today we have a EX800 assembled on the showroom floor and a EX700. We have yet ordered the Tech Shocks. You also got to remember this bike is more Trials then what the Ultra Bee is. So the suspension is more geared towards slower technical riding.
@@Meekerextreme Makes sense for your business model.
Agreed the EX bikes are geared more towards slower technical riding which is when I use my eDirtbikes over my ICE bikes. I use my other bikes for faster and more aggressive riding and eDirtbikes for slow, gnarly mountain single track here in MT which is where I want the suspension very plush to absorb rocks and roots and not wear me out. And also use my electric for slower family mountain forest road rides.
Both scenarios maximize possible eDirtbike range compared to the higher speed rides. Though, as Artic Leopard and other manufacturers increase available battery size/range, I'll be able to use my eDirtbikes for a much higher percentage of my dirtbikes rides, which is great.
Hoping you get in an EX800 with the TECH suspension and can detail the differences between the standard suspension and the TECH suspension in specs, adjustability, stiffness, performance, etc.
I am interested in this bike for Eastern single track. Currently I have an Alta EXR which is about 160lbs and a range of 40mi. Do you have any experience with the Alta that you could give me a brief comparison? The drop in weight alone is very appealing. The bike looks to be well made as a platform with which to start as an old enduro/trials rider. Thanks, I enjoy your videos.
I only got to see the Alta's I never rode one. Good idea for the time, and a well made bike from what I remember. The EX700 and EX800 are for sure more on the trials side of things but also make a great trail bike for exploring areas. It's very quiet. A&M Moto Toys www.ammototoys.com we can drop ship one to you.
Do you think that the ex800 lacks traction control, or is it just tuned to allow for a lot ore wheelspin compared to the ultra bee?
When do you expect to have the ex800 with the black plastics ready to go? What other options does that one have with it?
How do you think the ex800 will handle on the trails under a heavy rider, like 270 pounds?
We got the black one in the other day, our guy told us. We are at TKO right now, but when we get back, if you are in the Monument area you can check it out
How would it work for local errand running on the street? What's the top speed?
No rear tail light and not street legal it would be silly. Not sure why so many people want to use these for the street.
As for Top speed like 65mph
How are the suspension and brakes?
Brakes for trail riding could be better as it's a trials brake setup. Suspension is so personal, I find it's fine others complain.
How do you compare this to your exe800
Lighter weight, plenty of power
@@Meekerextreme better for trail riding?
Yes, I think it's better for trail riding due to the light weight
