I am patiently waiting for y’all to be able to open up again!
I can't believe these bikes start so easy for this guy I mean come on you got that magic touch brother.
It's all about tuning them right, mostly in the carbs. And low compression. He also might have warmed them up just a touch first. ;)
Large carb is good for top end, but makes it difficult to start and poor mpg, lots of carbon, and worse driveability.
@@VndNvwYvvSvv : LOL I think I'll just stick with the Magic Touch part it looks good. Very nice collection to be sure.
Wow / sounds AWESOME / looks great / had a 1939 Indian Scout & also a 1947 Indian Chief / the CHIEF is currently on display in Calistoga CA. In a place called the Tank Garage / a converted service station to a Wine tasting Garage. Place to visit if ur ever in CALISTOGA CA!!!! 😎 WILLY CA 🦅🏍⚒☠️⚡️🌎🇺🇸🍷🌹🍷
When I was 13 my dad took me to the museum and dale seen me looking at the evil Knievel bike and told my dad to let me sit on it. Great moment in my life. When I was 26 I road my bike up to see the museum and dale was doing a video so I was lookin at my fav the Crocker. When he was done he seen me lookin at her at a distance and grabbed my hand and put it on the throttle and said this is a hands on museum enjoy yourself.. what a great man
I would fork over good money for a reproduction of a machine like that. 🙁
I’m from Aurora Il and never new Thor was made there. Great stories about both bikes, great job😎
LOVED THE EXHIBIT when I went a few years ago in 2016. Bought a coffee cup at the gift shop.
Loved the Vintage motorcycles!
I have a picture of my Dad with his 1929 Henderson. I have no idea which model. I know it was belt drive with the suicide shift. He said it was 4 speed ? And , it had reverse.
4 cylinder. Beautiful. 👍
AWESOME CHARLIE MAC!
Really like yalls videos!!! Keep'em coming!! Beautiful machines all the old motorcycles!
The museum was,and is, on my bucket list! One might think that seeing these wonderful segments might dampen my urge to travel to see the museum. Not so! If anything, he has fueled my desire to see it in person, to study the peces, hear the engines in person and smell the smells of these glorius old machines!
I am extremely fond of the old Henderson Fours. My father owned a 1938 Indian Four which has its roots from the Henderson Bros. design. Keep up the good work.
I just listened to the book Across America by Motor-cycle by CK Shepard. Rode one of these from New York to LA. Well worth a read.
Just a thought, could the hand pump be a primer for the oil pump? Maybe being it was the first model with a pressurised system they wanted to make sure things were lubricated before the mechanical pump started circulating.
Good idea. May have been dropped because they found priming unnecessary or changed the design to make it such.
Love all old bikes and hearing them run. Any Douglas’s in the collection?
I,love there vidio,,were the uncrated a Brand new 41 Indian motor
Matt, amazing work on the teens bikes series you are rockin' it! This is a true public service to all of us, you are building our passion and our connection with these wonderful and exciting bikes. Keep it up!
I am rebuilding a 1916-17 1000 cc electric Thor.
I have info on the Traub if you are interested.
How so? I am in awe of the Traub and would love to hear what you have to add to it’s story!
Max Z.
I’m happy to pass it on to the Walkslers if they are interested.
Ben t Axelrod - Oh I see... well then, good night or whatever time it is for you.
Max Z.
Thanks Max. I have a couple of Thor engine videos if you are interested.
Send it to Info@wheelsthroughtime.com , we would love to hear it!
My brothers and me have or owned, 1946 Knucklehead, 1951 Flathead, 1956 Ariel(4 cylinder), 1960 Panhead, 1972 Sportster Shovelhead, 1979 Super Glide Shovelhead, 1980- 80 cu.in.Shovelhead And (3) 2000-2006 blockheads(Dynos). Yeah, only American bikes. The first 4 mentioned are still running.
So many Great American motorcycle companies back in the day. Now only one aging mismanaged motorcycle company on verge of bankruptcy.
This is a happy place. No need for negative opinions

Hey guys, This is Johnny, from Johnny D's Cycles. We, as a group, are coming up to the summer rally. Can't wait to see the museum and hope to talk with Matt. See you guys soon.
I love it sri lanka 🇱🇰 ❤❤🤘🤘
First thing I thought when I saw that bike was that those front forks looked awfully Schwinn-like!
I thought Henderson built a couple of inline 6 cylinders as well back in the day. Do you have an example of one of these at the museum or am I mistaken about the 6 cylinders?
A friend and neighbour of mine had an early 4 cylinder 1000cc Henderson that he restored over many months and it looked wonderful. He rang me to tell me it was going and he was dropping by to show me on its first run. I heard him coming down the hill and it sounded great, but then he shot past my place and kept going, before turning around way down the flat and came back much more slowly. Turns out he braked to turn into my drive, only to discover that the brake (rear wheel only if I recall) was basically useless....he'd been trying to stop as he whizzed past my place, lol.
I remember a Henderson in a museum 35 years ago got a photo of it somewhere in Christchurch new Zealand it was ancient then brings back memories
The old motormen I knew told us they preferred Hendersons to Harleys and Indians because of their ability to get around good in snowy weather.
that modern zip tie on the plug wires makes my eye twitch lol. love the videos guys.
Both are amazing bike but I got to say one day I'm expecting him to say they just fire right up and not be able to get it start not joining you just a observation LOL
Did I notice a 1912 zip tie lol just joking beautiful bike
I'm an Australian wanting to do a big holiday to America at some point in my life, and I tell you what, I am making your museum one of my stops for sure if I can make it work
Hand pump probably for pre lubricating before start.
hi there is one same machine in Tavannes Switzerland, dismantled and not complete , i got some picture of this bike and the side-car
Any relation to "Walker Engine and Frame" formerly in Carson CA?
It seems I read that Indian Purchased Henderson and that's why there were some 4 cylinder Indian Motorcycles..
Half the bore, half the stroke, and twice as many reasons to fire.I like that.
Are there remakes of the 1912 vtwins or is there no market for such things
I'm surprised the Cleveland Welding Company CWC did not make motorcycle frames. Westfield manufacturing made Indian bicycle frames at some point but were weaker than CWC's.
thank u matt...
The Oooga! Horn do they still make those
I'm surprised that Leno's not there
Nothing beats the sound of a four!!!
I’ve noticed that all of the bikes you’ve shown are and i quote, “one of my favorite bikes.” Just captain obvious here!
Well he'll there my favorite ECT , ECT and ECT each and everyone of them !!! Who wouldn't
yep I reckon they are all favorites
Excelsior!!! Super X !!!
What is the value of those to motorcycles
henderson is the best more harley n indians
exhausts cut so ya dont scare the horses
Very cool.....on the list to see
Stop saying uh
Exhaust cut out opened sounds amazing!.
Another awesome motorcycle! Great videos guys, thanks.
I love the 4
Sweet.
I like the fact that the bikes are kept original, and not 'restored'.
Also, I had always thought that carbide lighting systems had a carbide container and water. The drip rate determines how fast the acetylene gas is produced, and therefore how much light. The Henderson in this video simply has a pressure container for acetylene gas. I had never heard of that method before. BTW I have a working 1905 Miller acetylene lamp for a bicycle, repaired it myself from an incomplete wreck
Wow!! I had no clue anybody even tried to make a 4 cylinders that far back. Thanks so much for keeping these 2...sometimes 3..(sidecar) wheel, pieces of living, running history. I have learned a ton from these videos. I have only owned and ridden Honda all were relics when I got them and didn't run but a little cleaning and tinkering and they ran. I was 12 when i learned to ride ..pretty much immediately had it down. The bike was a 1972 XL125(I know the fork VIN \model plate said "1972" but I searched for it and Honda didn't start making the XL125 Till 73 from what I could find. I rode that thing everyday just around my grandparents little 2 acre place for till I was 18 when I got a 1978 Honda Hawk CB400t as well as my motorcycle endorsement. That 125 would fire up every time 1 kick as long as the choke was where the bike liked it.
I love all the 4 cylinder, inline bikes. But the Indian most favored.
In the 50's Thor made a great positioning head right angle type drillmotor, same size & efficiency
as best choice in construction now.
my grandfather and his brother in law went from westfield mass to florida on one of these in 1928, there was a story written in the local newspaper about their trip from before they went with a picture plus i have 4 pictures of them leaving on it and the story with another picture from the newspaper, my sister has the original copy of the news paper
Love these videos! So much history and information.
what is the schedule for the 2020 fall season? would love to visit
I have a Thor electric drill from the same erra if you want just pay for the shipping
Amazing. outstanding condition, sound sweet and look the bollocks
There is one in Norfolk England 😁
The real reason for the name the windy city.
This fella ever breathe?
Super cool bikes mate
keep the camera on the bikes, please
Super cool. I’d love to see the headlight lit.
A couple of cool old bikes 😎
Scuuz me!
Beautiful bikes
I love all these old bikes!!!
Wooo
Thanks to both of you!!
That looks like a scaled down aircraft engine
In fact some early HomeBuilt airplane designs required a Henderson 4 cylinder as the Engine to use!
You seem pretty cool...I really don't think much of your dad from the shows I've seen him in...
You obviously have no clue as to what you are saying, otherwise you wouldn't say such bullshit!
I have never seen a show where he was stuck up rude or disrespectful. I have never heard on anyone saying he was a jerk to them. Matter of fact all I ever heard or seen of dale was someone who was humble and polite to everyone.
