Her music starts my day.......and illuminates my sleepless nights. When the Demons and My Virtues have their most frightful Fights! It's my Free will that stays calm in the midst of the fray.......giving it the power to gently Pray
As you stroll through the meadows of the present, you can pick bouquets of crazy and improbable flowers, come back with sumptuous extracts from these sensitive and flayed musicians and tell yourself that you sometimes save time ignoring so much of these redundant & futile contemporary musics to gain strength and fullness 🕊💧🌊
It is very difficult to listen interestingly, but these actors do look as if they are paying attention to each other and reacting. They also convey a moving sense of love and mutual support.

Wow. Such depth in such simplicity. Wow. When I'm not hearing it, I'll think Hildegard, yes, good stuff, but when I'm immersed in it, just wow. And an intense performance.
Que belleza!!! Que voces!!! Felicitaciones!!! De verdad logran transportar. Hildegarda, una de mis Santas favoritas. Gracias por esta belleza de presentación. Bendiciones 🙏.
Wonderful performance! I just wish that the video had been edited with the supertitles so viewers could follow along with the text. That would make the communication of Hildegard's message even more powerful for us. Thank you for sharing!
More then proud of this, exactly how hildegard wanted it to be. C'est un travail si profound avec tant d'elegance quoi mieux pour présenter telle femme que je considère une de mes personnages historiques préféré, merci🥺
Glorious and modern. Tingling feeling from the whole performance super well done every body who worked on this particular piece. Thank you all for the wonderful sound bite from the past and present
"Mama Congo"? Niggas have nothing to do with this all-White, all Christian piece. Neither has the nigga singer in blue. Talk about "Culture Appropriation"! She should be singing the Pata-Pata in Soweto.....
Beautifully sung, in a sacred setting! Is there a weblink for donations to help the group perform Ordo Virtutum at the Berkeley Early Music Festival in June 2016? Please post or email me where to send a check if online donating is not available. Thank you!
This one kind of, It is a sort of codification of the soul from what I can glean from the translation. It seems to categorize the soul as a musical argument between virtues, wisdom, God and the devil. I'm not sure though, I'm just writing a paper, I'm probably woefully wrong.
Beautiful work. Just regarding the description - I think it's deceiving to characterise the social dynamics as "opposition" between men and women at the time. I'm sure if you went back and asked Saint Hildegard whether she was "opposing men" she would completely reject that statement. Not only would she claim that anyone doing the work of God is not in opposition to one another, but I think if we're being realistic she'd also claim that the natural order of society stemmed towards females being child-bearers and that that was actually a good thing for many reasons. I think also she would recognise herself as an outlier - and if that is something that bothered her she would have mentioned it in her writings... but she didn't and if she wished for the perpetuation of a Christian society, would have encouraged women to submit to traditional gender roles just as men should. This modern interpretation that men and women must necessarily be "in competition" with one another due to their vocations rather than "compliment" one another is contrary to the general beliefs of ages past (and with doctrines expressed in the Bible that Hildegard would embrace) and so it's misleading especially in this age that pits men and women against each other so often.
Yes, He is Satan, He is played by The only Monk in Town, Monk Volmar, who administer the sacraments of the Nuns in the Abbey and also serve as the secretary of Hildegard Von Bingen.

MERCI
In what work did Hildegard write a "Christian doctrine uniting ethics and metaphysics"? Any information on this text would be immensely appreciated.
Lord HaveMercy, I am not quite sure but I'm pretty sure it was one of her later pieces.
