As a Catholic, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am attracted to the ancient traditional spirituality of the East. It is admirable how you preserve these rites and traditions. Thank you for witnessing to the beauty of your faith. In the name of Jesus, may the schism be healed.
Christ is risen, Christ is risen, Christ is risen !!! Truly risen, truly risen, truly risen !!! Glory to worship and repentance to the only true Lord Jesus Christ Moshiach !!! Happy Holidays to you sincerely dear brothers and sisters, today is Easter for Orthodox Christians 5.05.2024
God hear my prayers. There are so many different obstacles that I face as a single mom. Some days I want to give up. God give me strength. I’m struggling to make ends meet. Both of my sons are special needs and require much from me. I keep faith because I know that God will provide. So as I struggle to buy groceries for my children, and as I struggle to pay rent every month. I turn to you Lord Jesus help me. Amen ❤️
Thank you for this Father. you have been such a great influence on my journey to Orthodoxy. In August my wife and I will be baptized and chrismated into the church during Dormition. My wife is unsure of what saint, either Paisias (feminine of Paisios) or Photini, she will take the name of. I will be taking the name...Columba. Thank you for all that your monastery is doing to bring the Celtic isles back to it's Orthodox Christian roots. May our Lord bless your efforts and may you always be "the flame of love that never ceases". Tapadh leibh!
May Almighty God bless you Fr. Seraphim, as a Catholic I appreciate the wisdom you are open to share with all of us, you bring a lot of joy to us and I believe that you are a very great inspiration for us young Christians who want to strive to live holy lives in the service to our Lord and all the people!
I have never seen before such a holy table before. It is so worthy of being the place where the sacrifice of the Mass is offered. To see the care and attention to detail that went into its making is almost enough to make me want to become orthodox.
As a person who is going to start his studies to become a priest, God willing, very soon, this video was very informative. Although I am an altarserver in my church I did not know all of this. Thank you Father and God bless you. Please keep me in your prayers ( my baptismal name is Serafim)
A beautiful alter table. Thank you so much for sharing! I feel at times that I am called to the Orthodox Church and learn so much from your videos toward making that decision. My prayers are with you and all that you touch in the many ways that you do. ❤
Father, you could never scare me. Catholic but with a trace of orthodox for sure. That's me. Blessed be your community. I will offer your intention at adoration tonight.
This was most interesting Father as all of your videos are. God Bless you and keep you in all you do every minute of every day. You are shining Father.
This one is so timely for me Father Seraphim as I am about to experience my first ever visit to an OC for vespers tomorrow (Saint Luke Evang. Glasgow) and I'd very much covet your prayers. As my background is Scot. Presb/Baptist I shall expect some degree of 'sensory overload'😇 but otherwise I proceed with an open heart & happy anticipation. My prayers for you also for God's blessings on your plans & journey this weekend!🙏🙏
May God bless you, dear one. Expect nothing, remain open to Christ's presence and allow Him the freedom to act on your heart and to show you the way forward. I am certain all will be well. I pray for you. Please give my love in Christ to Fr Luke and ask for his prayers for our Monasteries.
Blessings on you and your journey. I think you will find the service of Vespers a beautiful service. For someone coming from the Presbyterian/baptist it will be a very different experience but well worth going to pray. Slainte mhor agus a h-uile beannachd duibh
I am so thankful for you, you are a real point of light for me. I feel so unsettled and sad today; I am crying as I write this. I witnessed a dog being abused in town today by some drunk/ homeless men, and I can’t get it out of my mind. I hate myself that I was not braver, that I didn’t step in, but they are so intimidating. I feel such anger towards my fellow humans most of the time these days, I am become almost reclusive with my cats! Will you ask St Modestos to step in and protect this poor dog? I can’t get him out of my mind. I will pray for you for your trip to London, I hope you get the outcome you want. Sending lots of love to you.
You are such a sweet man Father. I am a Greek Orthodox Christian and I find it very reassuring when you say that you pray for us. Humanity needs your prayers now more than ever. We have lost our way in this world and I am filled with Fear.
Thankyou for such an in depth explanation of the church and the altar..Now i understand why its so sacred.Thank you father Seraphim, prayers for you from Australia.
Thoroughly enjoyed 🙌🙏🙌 I've lately become so interested in the devotional practices of others... Thank You for sharing 🙂 I love you & I pray for you ❤️
THANKYOU SOO MUCH AND DEEPLY FOR SHARING THIS✝️ GOD BE WITH YOU AND ALL AT YOUR CHURCH✝️ I hope you are feeling better Father Seraphim with love and prayers for you all ✝️🕯️🙏📿🕊️
Thank you Father for that wonderful presentation about your holy table. All the while I listened there was a mother bird (a Black Phoebe) outside my window feeding one of her brood on the top of my fence. I like the fact you have a beautiful Celtic cross.
I live in an old Dominican Priory that's now run by a protestant community, I'm as of yesterday , a newly baptised Catholic. The building I live in has a chapel. When the nuns left protestant community room over and today I found they put the old alter in the garden covered in old plastic... I assume as a Orthodox member you would see the alter as sacred and throwing it out in the garden disrespectful at best.
My dear Father, if I can humbly ask you to remember me in your prayers, I am having cervical spine surgery to replace two disks and have plates and screws inserted at two levels. This will be May 2nd next Thursday. I am more nervous as it approaches of course but I have immense trust in our Lord. Just really more worried how I’m going to get along here at home. Worried how my husband is going to be able to take care of our animals and himself. I do everything. I know he will do the best he can, but going into surgery I cannot be preoccupied with such things. I am your Roman Catholic sister in Christ from Indiana USA and I appreciate you and turn to your wisdom constantly. Thank you and may God always bless you ❤
A friend had a similar op done recently. His went very well. I don't know you, but I'll remember you as I also pray for my friends continuing recovery. Rehab afterwards is vital. He said the physio is working with him. God bless you.
Thank you for sharing this Father Seraphim! The Holy Table and Altar of the (Russian) Orthodox Church where I attend has a small church-like tabernacle where I believe some of the Body and Blood of Christ are preserved from week to week in case of a sick or dying member of the parish and to have the Holy Presence of Christ always present… is that not universally done anymore within the Orthodox Church?
Dearest Father Seraphim i feel in my heart drawn to you and your words and voice bring me such peace - how would i go about seeking you as my Spiritual Father?
Thank you so much for your videos, Fr. Seraphim. They have been such a massive help in my journey to Orthodoxy, and I pray that I may have a spiritual father like you. I would be deeply grateful if you and your community on RUclips here could pray for my friend Tahlya. Thanks again for all you do.
Glory be to God, dear one. These are not videos that generate any support for our Monasteries, but I know in my heart that they have the potential to help a lot of people deepen and grow in their faith, so glory be to God!
Have a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing how the altar is built. I have a little type of one in my home. 2 candles , a crusifix with Jesus on it and a small holder representing humanity holding hands( as a symbol of unity with the human family). A blessed statue of St Joseph holding Mother Mary and baby Jesus on her lap. I’m waiting for the icon picture I ordered from your convent store so I can place it on the wall just beside the altar. I’m catholic. I don’t have relics of course. ❤
Fr. Seraphim, every Orthodox altar I’ve ever seen also has the tabernacle, the container for the reserved Sacrament - do you keep yours somewhere else?
Do you mean that thing that contains pre-sanctified holy gifts (for the sick and other people in urgent need)? Sorry I'm a bit new on these terms EVEN THOUGH I have served as an altar-servant for a year now
For this, like for the Antimension which can replace the Altar Table, the bishops usually use relics from Holy Matyrs whose names have not been kept. We have, for instance, hundreds of martyrs in the Monasteries in Palestine, the Monasteries in Egypt etc This practice allows us to keep the relics of well known Martyrs (like St Thekla or St Demetrios) for veneration in Church.

Mă iertați și binecuvântați

The division between “east” and “west” never should have been. I mean that on every level.
@@_Pia12That’s why we need to study it. To get to know it more. In order for us to become one again
Different but the same. Newly baptised as of yesterday Catholic here.

You could just visit your nearest Greek/Byzantine Catholic parish instead. 🙂

Thank you Father for the explanation , may I ask why there is no tabernacle on the altar ?
This was beautiful 🙏what do you reccomend for a home altar? (I became Catholic 7 yrs ago but follow some Orthodox practices) I will pray for you 🙏☦💕
Thank you for sharing our faith to others so beautifully, Father. I do have to ask, do you not keep the Tabernacle on the Holy Table?
Do you mean that thing that contains pre-sanctified holy gifts (for the sick and other people in urgent need)? Sorry I'm a bit new on these terms EVEN THOUGH I have served as an altar-servant for a year now
Who's the artist that did the icon of the mother of God?
🙏✨🙏
Whose relics will be put into the center of the alter table?
For this, like for the Antimension which can replace the Altar Table, the bishops usually use relics from Holy Matyrs whose names have not been kept. We have, for instance, hundreds of martyrs in the Monasteries in Palestine, the Monasteries in Egypt etc This practice allows us to keep the relics of well known Martyrs (like St Thekla or St Demetrios) for veneration in Church.
What jurisdiction is the monastery under?
Met. Joseph of Southern and Western Europe (Romania)
