- Paramedics respond to a call of an elderly lady who fell out of bed. As they rush her to hospital to check the swelling on her leg, the paramedics feel for the patient as they learn she is a widow spending Christmas alone. Elsewhere, paramedics have a hard time dealing with an intoxicated patient.
For the very first time, an ambulance has been rigged with cameras that provide a unique perspective on what it's like to respond to emergency calls. 'Inside The Ambulance' follows paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service in England as they take us right into the heart of the action. We see heroism at work in the actions of these first responders. We also enter the lives of people in crisis and learn their unique stories.

I'm a 75 year old widow and am alone. This makes me so scared. I've fallen several times but luckily haven't been hurt more than horrid bruises and soreness.
I'd see if you can get one of these emergency buttons to hang around your neck or put on your wrist. That way you'll always be able to call for help quickly!

Our paramedics here in America could learn a thing or two out of this group. So helpful and endearing.
my husband was very sick for a long time.. and we live about 45 mins from the nearest ambulance service and every time he would fall (and that was a lot) they would come help me get him up.. they were always very kind and helpful.. to drive an hour and a half just to lift an old man from the floor.. I am very grateful to them.
We have great EMTs & Medics where I'm from in the US.

I’m a former paramedic. In the United States. Just keep in mind that they don’t show the really graphic parts. Such as bloody car accidents. It’s an awesome job. But I’ve seen things no person should ever see.

@ProfCheryl I am happy to be born in Germany in a country where everyone gets therapy the only thing that keeps us from being een more better is our "Paper Work addiction" so everyone who is in charge loves guidelines even if they are over 40 years old
For example we have an rescue system that needs a doctor to run efficiently, withou a doctor even NFS* who learned things like a EMT would have learned it in the USA aren't allowed to work as they were trained because Federal system in Germany makes rescue things a State department.
This led to the fakt that in different states different things are allowed or not allowed... in the one state I am allowed to give advanced pain medicine without a doctor in the other I am not or only allowed to gave low level pain meds what in this situation like an amputation realy isnt enough, the funny thing is there is no reason for it to not allow the use in one state but in the other it is because both NFS had the same training
So our problem isnt the whole social system but we are troubled with short staffed NFS and the overwhelming regulations that cause unnecessary pain for the patient....a wonder that we aren't happy with that what we have but we want to help the patient as best as we could but in the moment we are forced/limited by the law to not do things that we have learned which prevent pain but because of regulations we

Because we know how to drive? Most European vehicles have manual transmissions. Autos are seen as wimpy. In fact it used to be that if you took your test in an auto that was All you could drive!
