Very nice! You covered what they are used for at a high level and did not confuse us with extra data. From your video, for my use, LibreCAD is my choice! Thanks for making!
If only I fund this vide a few months ago.. these are for me the 2 best free cad programs, and as you said in the video Free CAD is for 3D, more complex parts, LibreCAD is more simple 2D oriented. Circles, Tangent to tangent, chamfers, LibreCAD has almost everything AutoCAD LT has, and a few things more. But I am using FreeCAD also, for some drawings, models that are sent to me and LibreCAD can not handle. FreeCAD was very frustrating for simple sketches with some 2D chamfer, layers and importing to other programs was a no go even as DXF (had to explode sketches.. ). It was so complicated, I gave up.
so librecad is better for working on landscape than freecad? i just started learning freecad and i dont know anything about librecad so im exploring right now. This might mean that i need to learn both softwares T^T
@@farhanhashmi2705 hi. Librecad is infinitly better for 2d. Dxf files are compilated flawless. Freedcad has a lot of problems exporting dfx files. I could never get it works well so i started librecad and all problemas solved. Perfect for plasma cutting draws or laser cnc.
Good video but I believe that fusion 360 from Autodesk may be a little more simple to use as a 3d modeling program than freeCAD. The buttons are a little tedious to draw and change workbenches just to extrude. Seems like more steps than needed.
What do you think of Sweet Home 3D? I know the name is silly, but I find this a really good application. I have had architectural drawings done using this software, approved by the authorities, so I cannot be that bad!
Hey man, thanks for the vid, but I'm having a trouble on FreeCad, I can't make it solid a curve design, it just doesn't work, only the lines get thicker, If you someone can help me, thanks
Thanks for the useful comparison between the two programs. This helped me understand what LibreCAD is useful for vs. FreeCAD. Definitely can't wait to get started with FreeCAD! I do have one very noobish question. For what jobs do people choose 2d drafting (like LibreCAD) vs 3d CAD? Is this more for things like architectural floor plans and such than mechanical designs? Right now I want to model a mechanism I am thinking of building, I'm guessing FreeCAD is the right tool for that.
2d CAD is used extensively among architectural and civil engineers. It's also used by electrical engineers for printed circuit board layouts and circuit schematics (although LibreCAD isn't ideal for these applications). As a mechanical engineer, 3d CAD is often the way to go if you have the time - 2d drawings would be better if you need to quickly convey a design idea. 2d CAD is also sometimes used to make some final edits/tweaks to 2d drawing sheets generated from a 3d CAD program. It sounds like FreeCAD is probably the right tool for your project - Good luck!
It is crazy I am searching for Linux based architectural design software and kept running into dead ends and now defunct companies(Cycas.de). And then I find this video gem here! Thyankyou! Seems my need IS met free of charge in LINUX! SweetHome3D does not seem to work most of the time in Linux(fails to draw walls), and I am not autocad proficient so I need a software like Broderbond 3D home Architect or the pro software of that call Chief Architect Pro X2 but for LINUX. Windows has too much problems with viruses and hackers lately as well as very very intrusive malware built in to Windows 10,so Linux is my daily OS now. What other BIM software for LINUX do you recommend that still exists in 2018/2019?

How do you download LibreCAD? went to website and did not understand

You sound is very very low. At the beginning I was thinking this is solely a dia show. :-D
This comparison is so good. Thanks.
Me resultó muy útil ver este video!
Thank you, this helped me realize that I'm looking for LibreCAD for my landscape stuff

Mendoza Detectores good to know, thanks
2:13 , 5:15 hmm, i like the use of terminal in non-terminal specific demonstration/video as well. niiice 👍

sure, but there is a price difference? 0 vs 500 per year?
@@aljosssap oh well, it's only money after all🤑
Thank you for this comparison. Very interesting!
Thank you so much for this clear explanation.
💯💯💯💯

That very simple program for planing interior design It more good helper than for prodaction
Thanks for saved my time. Good video.

please raise the volume and audio levels - i have maximised the volume and it's still very low audio

why sound volume so low? i can barely hear what you say
Try to increase your volume.

FreeCAD is very quick at translating 3D models to engineering drawings. You just have to have the drafting add-on.
I went with FreeCAD as there's lots of free tutorial videos out there for it.
Thanks!
Your audio is extremely low!
poor sound quality bro....

Unless your a very important person I doubt a hacker wants your info lmao lol
volume too low
It is pronounced libra as in french, not lib ree cad as in yank.
Libre in Spanish means free. And is pronounced lib re.
We're not speaking french. Every language has their way of pronunciation even though it is the same word. I know. What a surprise!
Moistcritical?
why most of these nerds video volume so low? Speak up!
