Hey Mike, I saw you at Ardmore Music Hall last year and tomorrow I'll see Soul Coughing in Philly. Thank you so much for bringing this beautiful music back to the people. Your fans and supporters wish you all the best.
Was there too! The bands energy that night felt magical and my god, they sounded so tight. Wasn’t sure what to expect from an LA crowd but man did I feel connected to everyone. Glad to hear you loved it too!
Really happy to see you growing Mike, I feel like a few years ago there was no way in hell you’d willing be in the same room together. Im not going to start hoping for a Soul Coughing reunion here, but I am glad to see some beefs are being squashed. This was the unexpected positive energy I needed today.
100% I am proud of you, Mike, for moving forward. After reading the Book of Drugs, years ago, I didn’t even expect the Circles album. You are the best Mike keep being true to yourself and do what makes you happy. ✌️❤️
Mike Doughty, what a voice, what great songs. Just brilliant Sebastian Steinberg plays so well with Mike, sharing that edge and intensity. A special player. Thanks to both for playing together again for this.
I truly have a tear in my eye. I loved Soul Coughing, saw them on all 3 album's tours, remembered the day their website said "that's it", followed Mike sporadically, listened to him and/or SC every day since. I NEVER thought I'd see this.
Mike Doughty has been doing these and many other tunes regularly in his solo projects. He could pick right up, if he wanted to. Would definitely like to see Soul Coughing live again.
A long time fan from 1997, Thank you Mike for putting some of the past behind you.. I would love to see a reunion, I would travel to see that. I miss those days so much.. I love how he stayed on queue with lyrics with the songs, with no changes to lyrics.. Just like I remembered, and as a bass player, to hear this song with bass and lyrics was awesome!
Its genuinely heartwarming to see these two guys from my most favorite band of all-time come together and make peace with all the bullshit that broke up the band... To be honest, I would have guessed that Mike and Sebastian were the least likely to ever reunite. Maybe my decades long dream of a soul coughing reunion tour isn't as impossible as I imagined... Or at the very least, a reunion show, since I'm 99% sure the city they would choose to play would be right here in Minneapolis!
I haven’t been into Soul Coughing since late 90’s in high school and just recently got a music app and rediscovered them. I immediately went looking for tours and saw they were no longer. I like keeping my 21 y/o daughter hip to what moved me as a kid and wanted to take her. Here’s to hoping from STL!
I’d listen to Mike performing literally anything. There’s never been anyone who could write lyrics like Doughty. There’s never been a band like Soul Coughing.
Gentlemen, you both sounds fantastic. And you sound fantastic together. I always thought Soul Coughing was one of those deals where the whole is better than the sum of the parts.
I saw you guys at University of CT back in the early 90’s and STILL regularly listen to your jams. Almost on a daily basis. I wish I was in the audience for this amazing reunion
Can't believe I missed this until now. Got properly emotional seeing the two of you on stage together after so long. Hopefully this was a healing moment & it isn't the last time.
I never thought I would see this. I missed seeing their (SC) last Houston performance as I didn't hear they were playing until the next day. I came to terms with the fact that it would never happen again - Mike was very convincing. Perhaps time can in fact heal all wounds?
It was wonderful to see this, made my day. I love that these songs still felt like they had aural layers to them even stripped down as they were. Super Bon Bon still has some juice in it! So cool that you got in on Watkins Family Hour. They're a talented bunch.
This really puts a smile on my face knowing the backstory of the Soul Coughing thing. Props to Mike and Sebastian! Hope they at least collaborate between the two. Would love to hear that.
This was great to see you two together again! I know I'm getting my hopes up but a full on reunion would be KILLER! Love ya Mike, keep making music brother
I was lucky enough to see Soul Coughing live, and they had a fight onstage (they were brilliant otherwise) I honestly never thought I'd ever see this...
He's been doing his own thing for years, you just have to look him up. He was still touring before 2020. Got some Feb dates in L.A. (where this is), and he's got a Patreon where he puts out new songs.
I don't know man, Mark was the one behind the crazy keyboard samples and orchestration (except the ones that Mike brought in to be sampled) and Yuval was a solid drummer that created a distinctive style for them. But it seems like those two are the ones who are firmly against a reunion unfortunately.
@@Everclearfan86 100% agreed, maybe I should have said the friendly half 😄 Too bad there's still so much resentment, everyone was exceptional on that "team".
@@pnut91red You're good dude, I understand. Nonetheless I just wish theyd do even just a one-off thing. Even if it was somewhere far off I'd make sure to be there.
Doughty was in LA doing a residency earlier this year, and he took time away from that to do this thing opening for Watkins Family Hour, a band Sebastian plays bass in. Presumably a one-off thing, but god I hope they work together again one day, either on stage or collaborating again on studio recordings. We may never get a Soul Coughing reunion, for better or worse, but this is the next best thing for sure.

The reunion is fire. So glad they got everyone back. LA was a dream

I'm always hopeful for a full out reunion. We will be here for it.

Did he get taller?
They're back!!
@@The..SinnerAre you here for it still?!
Just saw Soul Coughing tonight. Never thought I’d ever be able to. Very blessed.
And now there's gonna be a full reunion
YESYESYESYES!!!!!!
Man, to be in that audience. This is great. Surprising, but great.
Get a look at the audience, a crowd of grey hair!? Is soul coughing that old or did these people even know who they were watching?
@@SA_Trains I thought that too initially but look at Sebastian's grey hair. I believe he is quite a bit older than Mike though.
@@moto-fl3rd Ruby Vroom came out 30 years ago! If you were 16-24 at that time, you know have grey hair! Lol
That is literally a Dream come true! Such a surreal moment! The best thing that Happend in 2022 so far. Thank you Mike and Sebastian
Hit me right in the 90's. What an amazing session
This is extremely exciting! Soul Coughing is one of my all time favorite bands.
legit surprised by the vocals on this.
Especially stripped down, the quality of Mike's vocals really stands out.
Why? He still performs these songs just with his own twist both soul coughing and Mike Dougherty versions are good in their own way
WHAT!? REALLY!?!? What a pleasant surprise, still rocking even with 50%. Hopefully one day it will be 100%, until then, gonna be listening to this!
What do you mean by 50%?
Oh half the band. Yeah, quite a surprise and pleasant. I’ll be waiting the day!

You must be thrilled NOW! Loved them from their NYC days

I LOVE YOU SOUL COUGHING!! So underrated.
I miss the 90s been listening to soul coughing on repeat for the past few weeks . Every song on every album was good you don't see that nowadays
excellent!!!! Soul coughing for Ever 🎶🎶
Amazing…you're still hit my soul since 1994
I love seeing Mike and Sebastian playing together.
that's pure gold, thanks!
Still one of the absolute funkiest bass lines of ALL TIME
So happy. Can’t explain. Just happened upon this. Thankful.
Doughty has such incredible pitch. Always sounds terrific. This was a treat.
Yeah he really is a great singer but it’s easy to miss because he never does anything too flashy. He locks into those notes like nobody’s business
Who woulda thunk we would get some sort of Soul Coughing reunion. This is a treat
Mike Doughty has been doing these and many other tunes regularly in his solo projects. He could pick right up, if he wanted to. Would definitely like to see Soul Coughing live again.
Truly amazing💜💜💜hope theres more to come

glad to see them bonding after all this time apart.
This brings me so much joy... thank you Mike and Sebastian for this , I'm sure this was very emotional
What a treat. So glad you got over or past what kept you from performing together for so long.
This warms my heart

why are they all wearing masks in the audience??
