Yes, I agree. I really like Descendants 2 the most then the 3rd movie's soundtrack and finally, the 1st.
10:40 But I kinda like that Evil like me is more a classic Broadway song and doesn't really fit with the rest of the pop songs, because Malificent belongs to the parent generation and it nicely shows that in this new time her black and white thinking of evil vs. good is outdated. Also it shows the difference between her and Mal as characters really well (Evil like me in contrast to If only).
I think it was a smart choice thematically :D and also I really enjoy broadway musicals XD
I just made a comment about this but in less elegant words 😜. I also really like how both gen 1 Villains (Hades and Maleficent) take a departure from the pop sound.

High key, Evil Like Me makes sense for it to be separated. It’s an actual villain singing it, and a dramatic one at that. And to be honest, this song is so good! I think it really captures Maleficent’s vibe ( not like hades’ s but I just have an intense grudge against that song ). Both of Mal’s parents songs are separated from the pop vibe, Maleficent being Broadway and Hades being classic rock and roll. Either way, I’m biased bc I adore this song and Kristen AND Broadway music.

Stronger gives me so much nostalgia cause i remember listening to it when it dropped right before the actual short premiered, and the way the lyrics really fit mal and uma's dynamic was great. The short story seemed odd at first (and honestly built up a storyline for d3 that never happened). But if you read Escape from The Isle of The Lost, the short is a whole battle scene in the book and it makes so much more sense.
Night Falls deserves to be #2 for the sheer fact that the phrase “bigger fish to fry” is literally flawless.

The first movie personally holds a special place in my heart, but the second movies soundtrack was the best! Every song in Descendants 2 SLAPPED and delivered!!!!
I actually watched all 3 movies for the first time recently, and it’s so funny hearing a bit about what’s the general consensus on the songs among fans. Like, I thought the Be Our Guest cover was very fun and catchy! Never would’ve guessed people didn’t like it. Totally understand Queen of Mean going viral though, I was really taken aback by how much I love that song after watching 3

Here's my top 5:
1) Queen of Mean - the lyrics, the writing, the emotion!! It's a well-produced angsty anthem, and I can see why it is one of the highest views on RUclips of all three movies' songs.
2) Chillin Like A Villain - I could literally see this playing and no one realizing it's a Disney song.
3) If Only (+ the two reprises!!)- gets me in my feels, great writing, I imagine that's Ben's heart singing that backing vocal 😂
4) Space Between - friendship, great writing, amazing harmonies
5) Ways to Be Wicked - the BEST vk song, I'm annoyed at how heavy the dubstep is in the others.
EDIT: I'm extending this list to top 10 cause I'm bored lol
6) What's My Name - the production is too good, super catchy, China's vocals are stellar, and Thomas's rap is fun
7) Night Falls - I wanted to put this lower because the dance-off in the movie was incredibly cheesy, but this song itself is a bop, and I love the harmonies in the dance break.
8) Set It Off - Controversial pick, cause this song is a bit messy vocally. The beginning sounds like the Alleyway from Austin and Ally and there's a woman ad-libbing in the background every 10 seconds, but it's a bop. 😂 And the cowbell in the dance break! Everyone loves cowbell. I love that Jay, Carlos, and Audrey share a verse. It's my favorite ending song.
9) It's Goin' Down - It's a good story song and the music production is great. The writing in the rap is a bit too contrived bordering cheesy, but the pirate chorus breakdown goes hard. And China's high note!!!
10) You and Me/Good to be Bad - I was debating what to put here. I originally didn't like You and Me because it was too slow for a finale song. But it's chill listening to it on it's own, and the song grows on you. A very nice message as well. Good to Be Bad is the opposite, the lyrics are a bit meh and not the biggest fan of the "talk singing" verses... but the chorus is a bop! And everyone loves a "When I say __ ; you say ___ breakdown."

I feel the same about the Royal Wedding special, it was disappointing. But they never outright stated that Carlos was dead. Mal said that she missed Carlos, Evie said that she understood, Jay gave Mal the bracelet with the symbol charms and that they always be together, that's it. So they kept it vague as to why he wasn't there. The two big theories are that he is dead (which would be morbid for a kid's franchise) or that he was elsewhere for some reason, probably with Jane as she wasn't there either.
I was sad when Carlos wasn't in the Royal wedding special I feel like the group are not the core 4 without him.

13:34 it probably makes more sense if you read the books. The books are basically prequels to each movie. For example, the first meet between Mal and Ben makes more sense after reading the book.
I firmly believe Ben was in love with Mal even before she gave him the spell cookie. We all saw that first look when they met. Audrey saw it and I believe she started fucking around with Chad after that moment

They did include kiss the girl in descendants 2. It’s the scene where Uma and Ben are dancing at cotillion and it’s playing in the background. It’s not playing very loudly though so it’s easy to miss.

I have a question: How do you feel about Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD channels being closed around the world? The most recent closures of these channels were in Asia. It's mostly been because there's been a shift to streaming services and the closers of Disney channels mainly started around that time and everything. How do you feel about one day there might not be any Disney affiliated channels anywhere and it'll all be on Disney+? Also when this happens and they release new Disney movies, what will they be called since they wouldn't fit under the category of DCOMs since they weren't released on Disney Channel?

It would be so hard for me to make a list like this because we all love so many for different reasons but Set it Off is one of the best in my humble opinion. ! The choreo is fun, the song was catchy, and I love the scene... the fireworks, the castle, everyone coming together - it was perfect! While Descendants 3 was my favorite movie overall, the first movie had my favorite finale.

if only is also one of my favourite songs because i love how the deeper voice in the backing vocals could've been ben singing along because once he entered the enchanted lake the spell no longer had an effect on him, he heard her whole confession and how she felt conflicted

"Do What You Gotta Do" is my favorite song from the whole Descendants franchise and like mentioned in the video, it's a great karaoke bop! As for 'Descendants: The Royal Wedding,' I kind of wish it never existed because it didn't have enough Ben and Mal moments and I feel like the third movie pretty much closed the franchise. Also, we didn't need to have Carlos die in the franchise. That was a bit sad.

Honey, I disagree with so many points, but I appreciate that we agree on one important thing, "If Only" is always number one. And yes, I think the male voice joining in is Ben, but more like in their heads (cause I know she's singing and we see her dance a little bit, but it could be all in her head).

While I do agree that If Only is really great and deserves to be top 10, I just cannot agree with it topping both What's My Name and Chillin Like a Villain 😭 WMN is my 5 year old's absolute favorite song and Uma is her favorite villain (tbh the best one) and CLAV is just SO GOOD I feel like it's so much different than the rest of the songs in that movie??
