Had the joy of being involved with that S/G Replacement Outage. Great memories...

Very impressive. Is there a video of the work that was performed inside the containment?

Awww I missed the L.U. 43 banner that was placed on the first steam generator being removed, that was my guys and I was proud of all of them and the instrument crews who disconnected the instrumentation on all of them, so exciting.

Great video - a highly complex and technical operation made understandable. Question - is this work being carried out in the reactor building? I.e. between the primary and secondary containment structures?

The steam generators are in the reactor building

Why are nuclier power plants not being used mor ? They make great power and produce no pollution build them far away from populated areas

I am fascinated by nuclear energy. It is so much cheaper and safer then coal and oil fired plants. Chernobyl is the reason America shied away from nuclear energy production. What happened there couldn’t happen in America. We have such stringent safety laws in place. Plus large containment buildings. Three Mile Island is the closest we have had to a nuclear catastrophe and it wasn’t that bad. The number of people killed in fossil fuel based energy producing operations dwarfs the number lost in nuclear energy production.

America's pause on nucleat power was 3 Mile Island and the costs of complying with ever changing regulations

Would the TVA like to build edison generator and dynamos power plants that do not use steam wind or water to generate electricity. It is possible to add inverters and transformers to deliver high voltage AC power continuous peak power from Edison generator and dynamos power plants.
