In this video Er. Fazal UR Rahman, Corporate Trainer of Civil Guruji is Explaining about What is Prime Coat, Tack Coat and Seal Coat in Pavement Road Construction
The purpose of the prime coat is to coat and bond loose material on the surface of the base course to harden or toughen.
1. The base surface to provided a work platform for construction equipment. To plug capillary voids in the base course surface prevent migration of moisture.
2. Prime coat also serves the purpose to blocking capillary action in base course, so than water may not arise up to the asphalt layers.
3. Prime coat apply before the 24 Hours then the base course surface behave like asphalt base course.
It behave like bonding coat between W.M.M or Asphalt layers.
2. To form a bond between asphalt base course and asphalt wearing course.
3. If Tack coat is not applied, asphalt base course will tends to slip under traffic load, and pavement will fail due to slipping.
Tack Coat is also known as (Bitumen Bond)
Seal Coat : It is placed top of the pavements.
To provide friction to the vehicles which is moving on the road.
3. To providing waterproofing layers after applying the seal coat water is not penetrate in the other layers. It behave like impermeable layers.

I have seen various vlogs on seal coat, everyone gives good details regarding where it is laid, when it is applied and specifications. But no gives details of preparing whether produced from Asphalt plant and how it is laid on asphalt surface i.e using paver or manually.

There are three types of coat present in flaxible pavement. (STP). Seal coat , tack coat or prime coat. Final layers (BC) Bitumen concrete mix.

Actually mere khayal se PTS kyon ki work sequences dekha jaye toh pahele prime coat, 2nd tack coat n atlast pe seal coat use karta h

Road shoulder woh extra space hoti hai jo road ke kinare hoti hai, jise traffic ke liye nahi use kiya jaata. Yeh emergency lane ya parking ke liye istemal hoti hai. Isse accidents aur traffic jam se bachane ke liye banaya jaata hai.
