I've known Phil since '89 from back in my Bay Area Thrash days. My band played some BIG shows w/ Vio-lence, including the infamous Hayward Riot Show that also had Death Angel. He was always super cordial and friendly and still is. Good interview Dean!
Violation is a band I have been trying to remember the name of for years. They were the biggest band in east bay in like 81. I remember they had a song where the intro was a pure harmonics riff. So professional compared to other bands in that area at the time. Love listening to these shows that have the early 80s connections to the Bay area. Always brings back cool memories. I always made my way to the front for those day on the greens, I saw Randy using that giant pedal board. Still remember Ozzy introducing the song Believer (Diary was not out yet) and Randy hitting a pedal and going into that killer opening riff. Blew my mind. Thanks again Dean for a great interview
Vio-lence is the truth. Eternal Nightmare and Oppressing The Masses are two of the best metal albums ever. Can’t wait to hear what the new songs sound like! Excellent that they added Bobby G to the lineup!
