This stuff is so true. My first dynasty league started in '20, and I've already seen all of this. My dynasty league was set up with the draft order reversing for the rookie draft, and both drafts being snake. I was hoping to get a late pick in the vet draft, but I got #1. Offered it up and had no takers. The guy at #12, with #1 rookie pick traded Miles Sanders for rookie pick 1.3 after the vet draft. He then traded 1.3 and 3.1 in '20 for 1.2 in '20, and a '21 2nd. So he drafted ceh and JT. Luckily I traded him my 2.1 in '20 for his '21 1st, since he had terrible luck and gave me the '21 1.3. Unfortunately he was able to package ceh and 2 '22 2nds for Javonte... 🙄 The off-season before '21 I got into a random league with people on sleeper, pre nfl draft. We did the draft with rookies included. A bunch of trading happened, it seemed fun, then teams started dropping out, and the league was deleted before the season started... During '21, my team was riddled with injury so I sold off players. Got '22 and '23 firsts for Mixon, '22 pick is 1.3. With no 1st this year or next, and all his best players, other than Mixon and Justin Jefferson, being clearly declining assets(Amari Cooper, Travis Kelce, Zeke, Russell Wilson), and using his '21 first on Justin Fields in a 1 QB league, the guy I traded Mixon to bounced after the season. With $100 dues, somehow the commish was luckily able to find an owner to take over the team.
Anyone know how it works on sleeper? Can you just assign the rookie picks after the draft to the players that took the kickers as picks? I’m commish of a new SF league, and I kinda wanna do the draft soon
In leagues I play in, future deposits are done differently. In your example, teams can be put up for bid starting at $30. If only a bid of $30 comes in, the prior owner would lose his $30. If a bid of $45 came in, he would lose $15. This also helps those selling teams, to keep their rosters (and future picks) as optimum as possible because of the value presented to a possible new owner. Always enjoy the content. PS, the owner also has to add deposit.

How do you handle roster trimming in after-startup years with trading picks? Like if someone trades away a pick, can they keep a player on their roster? Or do you make everyone trim to the same number and owners have to either fill an empty spot from waivers (if they traded away a pick) or waste a late pick (if they gained a pick)?

We will be drafting ASAP, and this is after the 2022 NFL draft. Is there anyway I can do a veterans draft exclusively, and then do a rookie draft? Or am I at the point where I have to do veterans and rookies in the same draft? In other words, can I do one draft with veterans, and then a subsequent draft with just rookies on the Sleeper app? Is there really any difference between an 8 team league with 3 superflex positions and a 12 team league with 2 superflex positions or a 12 team league with 10 starters compared to 8 team league with 15 starters? The 8 team league should have a more fun rookie draft because everyone in the first round will have very interesting choices and the 2nd and 3nd rounds still have a lot of interesting players in 8 team leagues. Rather than saying that 12 teams are ideal...isn´t it better to say that you should simply adjust your settings (starters+bench) to the size of your league?
