This version is so much more heartfelt than the Talking Heads rendition. Eva really makes it hers. Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Gospel ... Eva sang it all, to perfection. R.I.P. Eva.
Love Eva Cassidy,it makes me sad to think she was here for such a short time but her music will never die.She takes us to the river every time she sings.
. Her doctors estimated she had three to five months to live. Cassidy opted for aggressive treatment, but her health deteriorated rapidly. In the early fall, at a benefit concert for her at the Bayou, she made her final public appearance, closing the set with "What a Wonderful World" in front of an audience of friends, fans and family. Additional chemotherapy was ineffective, and within six weeks she had died. Cassidy died on November 2, 1996, at her family home in Bowie, Maryland. She was 33.
Robert Anderson got it, and yes, then the power of that little girl roars. Or is so tender on "tall trees in Georgia" "autumn Leaves", But, "Bridge...." is best version ever, by anybody.
Agree with bhandsdes this cover beats David Byrne & Talking Heads. Eva was a great singer who died too young. BTW: check out Bryan Ferry's version from "The Bride Stripped Bare"--a superb cover that Al Green would approve.
In my opinion, Eva was the best of the best. You can never get away from her .
She could sing anything, truly. I miss her so much, it's just not fair. RIP Eva, you were incredible.
Unbelievable! What a smoking version this is. She was an extraordinary talent. R.I.P. Eva.
She had much more than an unbelievable voice,
she had the Genius to blend it with the words and music very few have ever been able to do.
Nobody possess a unique beautiful and fantastic voice as Eva....nobody.
Blues Alley is in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC, Great room....intimate atmosphere and good food too. A must see if you are visiting DC.
Awesome. Eva Cassidy is a great artist. I still say is even though she passed some time ago though, she's great!

R.I.P Eva Cassidy. And to my Grandad who thanks to him I know your music. :( Love you Grandad. 9 years have passed and still miss you to this day.
Time after time Eva comes thundering into my consciousness and just halts me in my tracks! She is beauty of sound and spirit -- this from an agnostic.

Clearly, but your first comment is a bit strange. There's no reason to think a shy person couldn't sing like Eva.
What? You don't think shy people are competent or something?
