I just want to say that everytime I take someone on outlaw run they mention something about the impressive use of terrain in silver dollar city. the beautiful ozark mountains and the theme of the whole park really come together with this ride. the setting makes a huge difference.
I found Goliath to be better, as it is relentless from start to end(airtime and intensity all the way 'til the hop into the brakes), whereas Outlaw Run kinda dies during the double barrel roll. The airtime could also be a bit better on it. I loved the wave turn and setting, but Goliath's surprise airtime and stall would overtake them any day.
I haven't ridden Outlaw Run but from experience on Goliath and what I have heard about Outlaw Run, Goliath is better. Now have I heard from someone who got slammed into the side of the train (and actually pretty badly hurt) during the doubble barrel roll? Yes, yes I have. But Goliath is awesome for me. It would be my #1 if (I know this is an unpopular opinion) it had more airtime hills to replace both inversions. Because I found those inversions forceless and gimmicky, it looses to Leviathan for my #1. But it is still my #2. I'd be shocked if Outlaw Run is better because it focuses even more on inversions and less on overbanks. From what I've heard Outlaw Run is an eaqual to Goliath in the airtime category.

Yes it is but the loop was removed the year it opened and there is much theming on the ride such as the stagecoach train the over banked turns such as if an outlaw was turning. Also the screeches is themed as a wailing horse

Olympus decided to beat them all they had to do was build an inversion, because they didn't have to make an entire coaster.

If they built another Goliath, exactly what they have already but at another park, then added a second half, it would be my favourite wooden coaster in the world.

I love both of these coasters. how ever i think outlaw run is better and i would ride Goliath more than outlaw run because outlaw run is not my favorite roller coaster. But i do love the beast it's my most favorite wooden roller coaster ride!

I would definitely say goliath aged better than outlaw run and is better overall Especially in intensity id say it’s one of the more intense rollercoasters out there Goliath is still smooth While outlaw run has a rattle to it now
Goliath doesn't use the terrain because there is no terrain. Gurnee is all flat land. Also, the space they had to work with was very limited so they couldn't put trees out there.
I thought Goliath was the better ride, but I was judging from the POVs (also I rode Goliath) and having ridden Outlaw Run now, I can say it is for sure the better ride.
OK but to be honest goliath is on a huge flat field that had been cleared for previous rollercoasters and there's no way it could even adapt to that. Then again, SFGAm is my home park so I have a bias.

I have luckily ridden both, and I'll just say both are amazing woodies, but Outlaw Run is better in my opinion. It has good theming, airtime, inversions, use of the terrain, etc. I do love the zero-g stall on Goliath, though.
If I complained like I did when I was 5 I would say: " it's not Goliath's fault it's on flat ground! The ice age hit Illinois!" Now I would say, "he's not wrong about that."

The "setting" catagorie may have changed the battle, but the setting of a coaster really does make Outlaw Run and Goliath different
