Giselle Fauquet So cool when you think if it. I come here quite a bit too. It comforts me, suiths me. Cool to hear that it might do the same for a complete stranger somewhere. Regards from the Netherlands.
It's amazing how powerful his instrument is in this song. So delicate and haunting, yet driving and insistent. His voice and instrument alone are a perfect match.
This is a special performance. Praise the God who brings such beauty in life. There is much pain in life, which God had his own purposes for. His ways are higher than ours and our understanding is mere dust compared to his.
If the opportunity presents itself to see Wovenhand live, drop your plans and go! Seriously. Practically a spiritual experience... Best $10 I ever spent in Austin, TX, bar none.
There too much years that's he songs these songs!!i remember woven hand!!and 16 horsepower...2009 in Greece and Thessaloniki when he came with his band..i still like them.. that's music!!
If we have so many guitar heroes, we have some rare guitarman like Edwards too!! Im convinced!! This guy touch the strings like nobody else, that' s what i like!!
The timestamps are driving me crazy, so here's the actual titles for anyone unaware: 0:00 - Whistling Girl 5:12 - As I Went Out One Morning 8:28 - Kingdom of Ice
*11:12** he seems to have surges of input that cause him to react. i've seen it in another performance. whatever activity he has happening within must be enormously distracting, and challenging to manage.*
Might want to check the spelling of Pollman vs Pullman. The former distributed string instruments, like this one. The latter, from what I can find, did not.
I wonder were his ancestors have been from. Maybe someone moved over from Ireland or GB? Why do I feel this connectedness? I always fall in love, but in another, kind of familiar way
Every now and then I binge all the Wovenhand/David Eugene Edwards videos.
David is a blessed musician.
I am from Greece...and i haven't seen before so much energy in a live stage, before....Woven Hand .. great band.....
One of the greatest songwriters and artists of the 2000's. His music will endure ..
He and John Davis of superdrag are easily my favorite songwriters right now.
I come back to this one a lot.

Me too. I can listen to him play all day. This video is gold, so enjoyable and calming
Seeing David live was like having a religious experience. Beyond talented and soulful.
I agree, when i saw him live the moment he started singing and playing i was in another world, together with him, on his journeys.
I'm so glad to see others have had this experience. Seeing him fronting 16 hp in the 90s was an absolute honor to see a true heart felt artist.
Changed my life, the first time I saw Wovenhand.
It's amazing how powerful his instrument is in this song. So delicate and haunting, yet driving and insistent. His voice and instrument alone are a perfect match.
I always come back here... this music is like a sanctuary to me, a hand on my shoulder
He’s a genius huge influence for me

That bango has seen so much pain and sadness. Timeless sound
Love that sound. Wovenhand vibes
one of the most beautiful voices right now.
Wow you can really hear his vocal texture here - awesome
He touches my soul with his music.

My brother dragged me to a show in Stockholm (Sweden) 2 years ago, never heard them before and like you say, its practically a spiritual experience!
Saw then in Bush Hall in London a few years ago. He was practically shamanistic in his stance and manner on the stage.
@@MaquiladoraIII My word exactly, shamanistic. My favorite is Outlaw Song. It's his original cover of a Hungarian folk song.
David is a wonderful songwriter and player
Great to see this again
FWIW, here's the setlist:
00:00 Whistling Girl
05:13 As I Went Out One Morning
08:29 Kingdom of Ice
There too much years that's he songs these songs!!i remember woven hand!!and 16 horsepower...2009 in Greece and Thessaloniki when he came with his band..i still like them.. that's music!!
I just love the sound of that mandy-banjer.
Absolutely love the one about the horse. My grand-daughter got me back into horses.
Just listened to the Secret South album by 16 Horsepower: magical album.
Jan Karlsson one of my favorite albums hands down
All 16 Horsepower albums are magical and mystical
16 Hp is everything to me and secret south is a desert island album ❤
Gives me goosebumps every time. Even after 25 times ;)
I’ve lost count. I watch it often. He’s an idol to me.
As I Went Out One Morning... my favourite.
Wonderful music. David is truly a gift.
If we have so many guitar heroes, we have some rare guitarman like Edwards too!! Im convinced!! This guy touch the strings like nobody else, that' s what i like!!

Talented artist with great rythm and that is a lovely sounding instrument

Its sIimply awesome... Im getting goosebumps and my eyes are wet... My soul wants to cry... and one moment later she does.
“Look at my original 60’s Fender pbass”
Eugene: “cool. My banjo is from 1887.”

I think I was at that show. The last one with OM was jam packed.

This beautiful human. Cannot believe he is real.
He is a shaman
Pure wildness can not be tamed
No cage dampens soul

Mille merci Je veux encore et encore le même rythme. Je voyage...
🐐I love him.
So amazing!!
Música que enche a alma. Obrigado Pai Santo, por estas bênçãos.
A woefully underappreciated talent. Most genius musicians are, sadly.
*it's supposed to be that way. the very special ones have their own world, they don't belong in the mainstream.*
@Ulrike Liebmann *you're welcome :)*
GREAT THANK YOU!

I miss you Ordy 🖤

Pleased that in addition to any mtv, billboard and other freaking hit parades was,is and will be that kind of music.
У Дэвида русская душа.
you are in my mind, man, in my country and we share the same name. maybe we are soulmates..
@dawnredskye I would give anything to have his talent
Tom Paine Remember 2021
Yup.
I love me some DEE! So does Danyl and Daniel.
*11:12** he seems to have surges of input that cause him to react. i've seen it in another performance. whatever activity he has happening within must be enormously distracting, and challenging to manage.*
Night music.
On the first song: I didn't know you could do so much with the Bowser's castle music from the first Mario Brothers.
A Natural.
Not a massive fan but that instrument sound amazing!
lyrics are great too
but someting massive are you
What is with the pyramid and all seeing eye on his shirt. Is this guy sold his soul?
🎈
LOVE this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this instrument is called a banjola, a mix between a banjo a mandola.
you are correct
I own one because of him.
8:28 Kingdom of Ice
Why is the setlist wrong here? It's correct on the NPR webpage.
00:00 Whistling Girl
5:12 As I Went Out One Morning
8:28 Kingdom of Ice
reduced, so much better
Wisdom Minstrel.
disquieting, great.
Without thought of thorns
Maybe my friend......!!!!
Hey Tech pay attention .... Kingdom of Ice...
M A J O R C O O L !!!!!!!!!!!!
He never skips neck day
Might want to check the spelling of Pollman vs Pullman. The former distributed string instruments, like this one. The latter, from what I can find, did not.
Anyone know what tuning he is using on his Mandolin-Banjo?
C5 tuning i believe: GCGCC
At least for as i went out one morning
but: do ya mean it?
I wonder were his ancestors have been from. Maybe someone moved over from Ireland or GB? Why do I feel this connectedness? I always fall in love, but in another, kind of familiar way
IIRC he has Native American heritage.
@@EricGranata IIRC? What does that mean? ( I am from Germany)
@@sommerseeflimmern “If I Recall Correctly” and I do. Read an interview later where David talks about his Native American heritage.
@@EricGranata ah thanks 🙂
This man is proof that there is a God, somewhere.
hi , anyione knows wich tuning he is using on this specific tunes here?
