Why the fuck is Green Day on metal monthly…?
I’m all about adding hardcore/punk on the list! I’m picking up most of your recommendations! Keep it up!
Junta sounds awesome, keep em coming please!
That Mourning Dawn album is an absolute banger
New KNOLL album As Spoken comes out on the the 26th of this month. Killer darkened grind. Three advanced singles rules. Please review
Variety is always great, so no need to shy away from different genres. All 5 sound pretty interesting. Really enjoyed Boundless Chaos. Their shirts alone would have made me buy this back in the 90s.
I dig it when you throw in stuff just outside The Metal Realms. You can totally bang your head to Hardcore too.
Metal Monthly is here! Thank you Blayne for doing this for us every month! Absolutely love that you add hardcore and punk additions. Jan is weird month for metal and I’m here for it 🤘
I like the branching out into different genres, perhaps an extra palette cleanser that isn’t metal at all would be sick
but please not green day!
Yes dude let's begin the fucking year with this recommendations THANK YOU DUDE love this channel!!!!
Japanese Hard Rock Nemophila - Evolve out January 17, even has a piano rock ballet, Mayu the singer is a fantastic scream/singer, twin 7 strings. 😎🤘🇨🇦🤘
I really enjoyed the Svdestada record, and I'm looking forward to checking out Upon Stone this week. Dying Victims is starting off the year strong with BOundless Chaos and Kontact, so I shall be listening to both of those. I also want to shout out the debut, self-titled album by Seas of Consciousness. It's an independent release that came out on January 12, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of melodic death metal in the style of In Mourning.
Shout out to Dissimulator's debut on 20 Buck Spin, Lower Form Resistance, coming out January 26th🔥
I can't wait for Master.
The new Vemod coming the 19th is soooo good.
Mourning Dawn was a banger. Also Guttural Disgorge ep "Enthralled By Mutilation" was ⚒⚒⚒
Domination Campaing was a nice discovery
“Cancer Christ - God is Violence” is a really good mention for the start of the year!
Hell yeah, more hardcore punk in the future. Another great hc punk record for this month is ULTIMATE DISASTER - Demo 2024. Kick ass d-beat!!!!
My favorite releases this month: Funeral winds - 333
Inquisition - Veneration of medieval mysticism and cosmological violence (can hear they've drawn inspiration from Satyricon).
Dagon the riff master
pronounced hoon-ta like a military junta
The Svdestada album was awesome , can’t wait to hear the other albums!
My buddy put me on these dudes about a month ago and they absolutely are one of my favorites now. Check out azabache and yo soy el mar their debut album it absolutely Rips, I had to support these dudes so I ordered all their vinyls tapes and cds
New Blood Red Throne! “Nonagon” Coming out end of January!!
I really liked Kontact’s debut EP from a couple years ago! Very excited for the album.
As usual, I found something new to listen to.
I already know I'm gonna love Boundless Chaos from that one clip.
Will definitely check out the Kontact album!
Also released this friday is the debut album from Xion - Between shadows and gods.
Old school thrash, executed perfectly imo!
Give it a listen.
Another awesome MM Blayne! two bands that I'm really looking forward to hearing! Mourning Dawn and Kontact... Keep up the great work and Rock on! 🤘
Totally fine with adding something like Junta, that sounded sick
I love when you step a foot outside your normal wheelhouse. Keep right on, dude! ✌🏻
Junta kind of has the feel of some of the faster Carnivore stuff. I dig it. I really like that Kontact song, too. I'll have to check out more of it. Keep going with the expanded genre thing. I've been listening to the new album by Scanner (The Cosmic Race) a lot. It's not quite as good as their late-80's stuff, but it's dang good. Thanks, Blayne.
Yes more punk and crust! Amazing bands this month. Different and interesting.
Very interested in Kontact: heard the Voivod influence immediately, and Voivod is one of my favorite bands ever, so yeah, I’m there!
ya think? Sounds just like Voivod.
Same
Really like that Kontact record.
I always like it when Banger branches out into non-metal genres now and then. After all, no genre exists in a vacuum, so no reason to limit ourselves.
Thanks a lot !!!! MORE SAAAXX
Svdestada is fantastic 🔥
I fucking dig all of these recs
I go back to the Metal Maniacs days when they would cover a wide birth of extreme music. Love the variety, keep it going!
C' mon you forgot Slift - Ilion ..no way!😅
I like independent flag from Catalonia of Junta nice detail.
Yes, please include MORE non-metal recommendations. Also, Mourning Dawn and Svdestada sound especially yumyum
January is stacked
Hiraes - Dormant (Melodic Death Metal)
Secrets - Torwards the Nightside (Symphonic Black Metal)
Thank you very much for the palate cleanse this month.🫠
frenchin' it up
Really looking forward to Hideous Divinity new album.
I think it's fine to include other genres that can be considered metal-adjacent. Punk/Hardcore, Gothic, Industrial, etc.
Svestada reminds me a lot of Celeste. I'm definitely checking out.
"only 33 minutes" this us where my old ass complains that albums are too long nowadays and 33 minutes is perfect
Saevus Finis lauched their premiere album on the 12th of January. What a crazy absurd CD....
Yes I'd be interested to hear your choices of none metal bands
To the question of how we all feel about the non-metal/metal adjacent recs, I’ll add a +1 to the I like it column. Your recommendation for Katharine XIII some time back planted them firmly on my radar, and while I wouldn’t necessarily want a month where there’s no metal (that would be weird coming from Banger), I maintain pretty diverse listening habits (paused the doom jazz album I was listening to when I saw that I’d missed January’s Metal Monthly), so I’m all for some recommendations for non-metal music that might appeal to metal fans.
Hiraes and Scanner are releasing new stuff also 🤘🔥
Love the recommendations when the bands are metal like stoked for the Junta records sounds dope!
New Departure Chandelier it's insane! Check it out, fellas!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I am going to check out that new Green Day album.
I'd be.
Hopefully it sounds better than the last one
even at their worst you can still jam it in the background fine
Not I. Hope you enjoy it though. I’m genuinely confused why them and alkaline trio are on this list but that’s a “me” issue
I won't be as the last time I liked anything from them was East Jesus Nowhere.
Surprised to not see Sovereign - Altered Realities from Dark Descent. Like Nocturnus but a bit more Thrashy.
I'm cool with metal adjacent bands in metal monthly. But that Junta sounded pretty metal, almost grindcore.
Dipygus self titled unleashes the 22nd!!
For black/post-black dudes out there - Vemod is dropping The Deepening on 19th. Very melancholic and introspectfull is how I would describe their sound
New Mega Colossus the 26th as well!
Keep up with adding stuff that's metal-adjacent. Love it.
Forgot to mention Resin tomb - Cerebral Purgatory
I did not realize how tall, You must be close to 7Ft based on your head's proximity to the ceiling.
Will 2024 be the year Blayne finally admits his love for nu metal? Only time will tell!
Waiting patiently for the Alkaline Trio review.......
Well thanks Blayne for making me listen to Doppleganger by Kontact like 6 times in a row. Shit is catchy af (Whole album is awesome)
Check this guy out, good metal this month. Worth the auditory and investment in general.
Candela slaps too hard! (Candela pega duro!)
and all the concept (not just fire but candela!), widely used in Latin music, translates surprisingly well to metal...
9:20 Junta is pronounced Hoonta
Not exactly metal but Infant Island deserves some attention. New album is GOOD.
Nemophila - January 17th
❤️🔥 Nemophila 😎🤘🇨🇦🤘
❤️🔥 Nemophila 😎🤘🇨🇦🤘
Cancer Christ. “God is Violence” is fucking amazing….as is Escquela Grind.
Kontact sounds like the best kind of wtf. 😂
P.S.: Svdestada is actually pronounced "sudestada". Spanish for winds comming from the South. 🤘🏼
Blayne is back from his 2 week hangover
A month later. Thought Bangertv was gonna be a patreon only thing now or something.
Can you review the new Green Day record? What can you say?
Blayne, what about the banger from Dipygus that just released?
Jnnta: "mi violencia" hehe, ok
You all are missing out on Tumulario.
Kontact -What the hell is that supposed to be?
Where did you get your couch?
Junta photo with a Catalan independence flag FTW
Hauntologist
For the prog and tech Death fans Calligula's Horse is releasing thier new album olong with Tech death bands Exocrine and Cognizence. on the 26th too. It annoys me how disrespectful Blaine is to Prog and tech bands. It's one thing to say "It's just not my thing" it's a whole other thing to dismiss it entirely, I don't like Thrash but I don't dismiss it because I don't get it.
Triggered
Thank you
It’s his picks for the month. Can’t expect him to offer great recommendations if he has no interest in the subgenre.
Add deathcore to the list
Damn.... no mention of the new Ribspreader? It's called Reap Humanity. Do it.
Your mother drew me in, and I came, Blayne.
Green Day? Ummm…ok, I guess.
What! No “Lord Dying” ?
Yes some hardcore to can't live on metal alone.... just mostly
Not mentioning Cognizance - Phantazein coming out on Jan 26 (Willowtip) yet you’re mentioning Alkaline Trio and Green Day????
Didn't Hardcore used to be called Crossover back in th' day?
I´m all for punk bands being featured, hell yeah!
Green Day? Punk? 😂
Junta is pronounced “hoon-tah”
Green Day? WGAF?
Slow start of the year.
No mention of Vemod on January 19th? Shame.
more hardcore! more saxophones (New York's alright...)! More weird! *(NY Punk/Oi! is know for the saxophone too)
This is just a thought, I would leave the pop/punk stuff at the end of the video (If it needs to be included at all). Not a good start to a series called "Metal Monthly" especially for new audiences.
Again I'm here to mention ones Blaye forgot....
Engulf - the dying planet weeps is really, really good Death metal..... FFO Morbid angel, old Ulcerate and early gorguts.
Early Gorguts like Considered Dead and Erosion you mean? Not at all.
@@Eye_oftheBeholder maybe closer to from wisdom to hate... so maybe not early gorguts mid-career
dude these need to be at the beginning of the month lmao wtf are you doing
im okay with non metal recs
