Excellent Interview, this is the 1st indian army veteran that has mentioned the role of Col nanawati and his study of the SAS as the Indian SF model and also mentions Delta Force, something that is never spoken of. Also he speaks about the deficiencies of Indian SF in jaffana and Sri Lanka and how they evolved post to become a expert jungle fighting force.

The kind of things they have done should come out in Public domain more frequently. I know SF all across the world don't share much about them barring US Special forces but we should also start doing the same. 9 Para's Op Apache (Trans LC ) op should one day be declassified. It was one of the most daring ops ever! Also Bijay sir Awadhesh sir was in 2 Vikas and when his tenure was over , the officer replacing him was Narvane sir who later became COAS !

Is he talking about The hero of the Soviet union Marshal Georgy Zhukov? Zhukov was the one who commanded red army in the world war 2 against Nazis and was also present when nazi germany surrendred. He took the surrender of Germany in Berlin. The guy was a legend.
I think paras are the one , who keep it very simple. Sometimes keeping everything simple is the most toughest thing. Heard to so many para officers and jawans, the thing common about them is keeping simple , yet effective

As you said martyred officer Saurabh Kalia and others were humiliated, tortured before their death. Why do we as Indians have to follow the protocol of decency and decoram when dealing with enemy soldiers. Remember how the Yanks treated the captured German pow. They were court martilled or sent to death. The Russians did not show any respect to the Nazis. Why do we as a country have to be so reticent even when in times of war. Even Bose did not hesitate to take help from the Axis powers like Japan and Germany to rule Britain out. You know how the British treated the Indian freedom fighters. Desperate times require desperate measures.
