I just watched an interview with Eugene yesterday and he said that Vlad wrote most of the music for this album. Also he said they have almost enough demos recorded for the next album and the melodies are magic. Can't wait for 2023.

Loudwire just released an interview with Tatiana that sounds like later in 2023. I'm so looking forward to it. They've said that a lot of the guys' musical compositions originated in their time under siege in Kiev and that is is going to be really heavy. I can only imagine. What could be a more elemental genesis for a metal album?

A lot of note bending there yes. Roman has really become the master of bending his parts to the breaking point and back and apply dissonant chords to create a specific feel. The band has really left the era where they had two guitars behind.

Call me a Symbol should be there opening song at Nov. 1 concert that I'm going to. I'm going to see them at the same place as last year, the Ace of Spades in Sacramento. But a better venue. Malevolence, Space of Variation, Vended (Lead Singer is Coey Taylor's son of Slipknot), P.O.D. and Jinjer headlining. Wallflower is an Introvert song that Tatiana Shmayluk sings about from personal experience.

I remember Eugene saying Macro was a little too drum and bass heavy, so they turned those down just slightly and brought the guitar up a little higher in the mix. Vlad also got a new drum kit with a lot more depth to it so it will sound a lot deeper than Macro as well, and he also added a second piccolo snare drum. That’s what he was playing during the bridge to give it a different feel. The band had the exact same worry as you. They felt they were being pulled a little too mainstream with Macro, so they made extra sure that Wallflowers was a lot more dark and heavy. Tatiana did an interview before the album release and she said she was worried the album was going to be a little too dark and niche for some. Eugene said the album as a whole is “purposefully hard to digest on the first listen.”

Jinjer has used a Drop A tuning on everything from King of Everything on. The bending sound you noticed is just Roman bending the crap out of the strings, no effects at all. This album is very aggressive and raw, but you can really hear everything clearly in the mix. The evolution on this album stems a lot from the fact that Vlad wrote almost all of the songs!

Great reaction! Glad to see you finally get to start enjoying some Wallflowers. They opened their set with this song when I saw them last Nov...can't wait to see what they open with in Dec as i've heard that they are playing some of the older stuff this go round. 🍻🤘

I recommend Vortex next. Just be warned you will struggle knowing when to pause.... because it is a vortex. There are videos for Disclosure, Wallflowers, and Mediator as well, and live videos of other ones. Colossus is epic btw.

Everything up through Cloud Factory is in drop C. King of Everything through present is drop A. Basically songs when they had two guitarists or one, though some songs from the Cloud Factory era like Who is Gonna Be the One they just play in drop A now. The first two minutes of stank face bouncy riffs are just bends and slides, no effects or whammy bar. Roman's OD guitar has a fixed bridge, so he couldn't even if he wanted to.

Wallflower and Vortex really hit home for me. Wallflower is pretty self-explanatory but Vortex as Tatiana explained it is about dark thoughts. IMO the lyrics, music and video all divulge what it's like to be in the throws a anxiety/panic attack.

Great reaction my friend, just a little spoiler alert, Wallflowers is by far their heaviest album, so expect a lot of heavy as you go through the album. As far as sounding a little different sound wise, it is probably their tuning because they are using their same music producer who produced Micro, Macro, and Wallflowers and that is Max Morton. The only other official videos for Wallflowers is Vortex, Mediator, Wallflowers, and Disclosure! They have Vlad's drum playthrough for Copycat, and my favorite song off of Wallflowers which is Dead Hands Feel No Pain, they are both awesome by the way so those might be two suggestions for those songs. As far as the remaining songs, they have lyric videos made by other RUclips channels so that is an option for you as well. Enjoy your journey through Wallflowers, and remember, expect the heaviness, and as always, stay Metal my friend. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

There are lots of great songs on this album, and there are lots about this song that I find great. Having said that, there are parts to this song that needed more maturing, lyrically and maybe drawing back a little in spots instrumentally as it is really apparent the timing gave Tatiana trouble matching vocals to. That whole phrase with spit and gold just conflicts rhythmically and how it fits within the instruments as an example. I think if they worked it a little more and fixed that part, this song would be in my top 10 Jinjer songs, but every time I listen to it, that part sticks out more and more.

This song is actually Vlad's autobiography. It was supposed to be called "call me a cymbal".
