one little note regarding the info on your map, try to carry the map untouched and instead get a sheet of transparent acetate to write the info on there. only you should know exactly where to put the acetate sheet so it overlays on top of the map. that way you wont compromise your other shelters if the map gets captured. godspeed man
Also, be aware that anything that can transmit (send) a signal can be tracked (traced) (triangulated) back to your current location. So GPS, radios, internet, cellphones etc. can compromise your positions. But if you are going to use them, then you must maintain strict radio silence until an actual enemy contact takes place. Because the enemy would already know the general vicinity of where you are already when enemy contact is made. I personally wouldn't take any two way radio's, of course you lose the communication factor, but it allows your team to be ghosts. If you do opt to use radios etc. then after you leave the area of enemy contact, you must go back to radio silence. Most communication issues can be resolved through the initial, training, orders and rehearsals prior to any attack or ambush. So if you have any electronic devices that ONLY receive signals. Then you have nothing to worry about. Just make sure to keep the volume down or use head phones. If you use any type of electronic devices that can SEND signals. Then these signals can be captured, triangulated and your location can be compromised. I think most people could figure out what would happen next.
@@stupedcraig Yup some do, like the Garmin Rhino 750 2-Way Radio/GPS. They transmit when you talk through them to other users and I believe they can also transmit your GPS location to other Garmin Rhino's. All of these could be intercepted.

I don't know how war would develop in Finland, Baltic States, Poland or Georgia(well we saw how that one went) where hills and forests are everywhere you go, but here in Ukraine our entire partisan movement is concentrated in the occupied cities. Especially in those with main transportation knots. Think about it: if your enemy is borderline "special education" but has areal reconnaissance and 20k artillery shells to waste per day would you risk sticking out like a sore thumb in the forest or mountains or just going "grey" in the city, with all comforts available to you and also your targets being at your hand's reach. You can't do much from the forest or mountains, that's what i'm getting at. Not with modern tech in hands of your enemy. You might kill 10 000 russians, but what would it change for their high command? Exactly zero. We killed and disabled 90k they still don't care. You need to destroy their logistics, supplies and collaborators so their advance would halt. And you can do that only from behind the enemy line. That means looking and acting as inconspicuous as possible, playing along, gaining their trust. But that's just me, a random Ukrainian.

If you have locations marked directly on your map that doesn't end well if it's lost, someone is captured or killed and searched. Have some sort of simple code masking coordinates and use an overlay or a ziploc to do any marking on the map so the map itself is clean and everything else not encrypted can be destroyed. Another easy way if you're doing an overlay is to make sure it's not the same size as the map but offset and ybut offset and use a couple of of major features on the map app to align it. This makes it difficult for someone else to understand your overlay. Good hunting
So a good way to secure this is to have a bottom part of that ziplock sealed off from the rest of it with waterproof matches you strike one of the matches and it will ignite the overlay. Quick way to instantly deny useful Intel
I’m in the Army. I recommend adding a small shovel to your kit. They can be used for many things and help build shelter or foxholes. Also, a durable fixed blade knife. I’d add more food in your pack, as well as some gun oil and rags to wipe your weapons down. Make sure you have plenty of socks and undergarments, I also recommend some good quality boots, at least 2 pairs. Your feet are your lifeline. 2-3 changes of durable clothes. Along with that, foot powder and much more baby wipes. That’ll be your shower for however long you’re out there for. Also a small inflatable camping pillow is nice.
I'm from the 🇺🇸 and my family and I are praying for you and your countrymen. I love the shotgun, I love your channel. Stay strong and hold on to your faith. God Bless.
I also like the fact that you carry a mora knife. Mora knives are very dependable. I would have gone with the Garberg but that's a personal decision. I would recommend a larger knife such as a becker bk 2 or bk 9. They are full tang and built to take punishment. Also God forbid it comes down to war fare, a large knife has proven to be a great asset in battle where CQC is a factor. I recommend the becker knives because they are very affordable and as a edged weapons instructor I feel they meet both bushcraft, urban survival and close quarter combat needs. Just something to consider. Praying for you brother be safe.
As someone who's done a lot of camping, especially in colder weather, one thing I would suggest you add to your sleep system is a mattress or sleeping pad of some sort. Even the best sleeping bags can't protect you from the cold ground because of how the fill on the ground side of the sleeping bag gets compressed when laying on it. A good sleeping pad can give greater comfort, which leads to a better sleep and a better rested fighter.
Very true. You can add a paracord hammock which will get you off the ground. If you use 90 or 100 percent wool blanket and wrap up like a taco you stay pretty warm especially if you can't make a fire for security reasons. If you have a smaller blanket besides your wool blanket like a blanket shard, you can pit it inside the hammock and let it drape over rather edge so that it blocks convection.
@@bayoubushcraftandsurvival8842 I've tried hammocks but can't seem to get comfortable in one. I can see the advantage of a hammock in certain environments and terrain, like in warmer climates and the bayou for example, but that's rarely my case as I'm in the Pacific Northwest. I think this is the way to deter pootin from attacking more countries. As you understand , a partisan rig and loadout differs from a 3 or 5 day mission loadout. I like your patrol-bag , though it is a bit limited in size for overnight patrols. I love my Vorn lynx 12-20 litre backpack. it carries my rifle in a genious quick-release pocket. Rifle ready in 2 seconds. I carry my shotgun in a sling like yours. A main battle rifle is heavy, and made for a fighting style you try to avoid. And if you don't get a really good one, you would still need your .06' for that distance kill. If you could get a H&K in 308, or a FN-FNAR, or a accurized AR-10, you got your sniper rifle. If not, you're better off with a .30-06 and a maybe exchange the shotgun for a pistol caliber carabine in the same caliber as your sidearm. That's the Norvegian partisan setup from WW2. (Mauser, Stengun and sidearm. Short and light AR15 or AK74 variant could make do, but then you must carry 3 types of ammo... I would try to get a magazine fed rifle and some spare mags. I got a leftie Tikka M65, original 5 round mag , and aftermarket 7 round mags. These are plentiful in Scandinavia, and cheap. (500€) Magazine price is a killer though.. I would ditch the raincoat and go with a army poncho instead. covers your pack too, and can be made into a shelter. Try putting all your shotgun shells on your chestrig pointing the same way. When you have emptied the right side, you should be able to get the shells from the loops on the left using your right hand and same technique. Training will tell. And as others have pointed out, don't mark positions on the map, use a overlay, or write positions in a caesarian cipher or similar. Try to get a rangefinder. That .30-06 is good to 800 meter , but you need to know the range. Plastic zip-ties and electrical tape! A mini salt and pepper shaker. To deserve peace, prepare for war!
Noticed some people have mentioned camouflaging your large bag. That is the only thing in this video that stands out to me especially the neon orange accents on it. A cheap option would be to buy an assortment of green and brown spray paint cans that match the forest colors and just spray paint it. That’s what we do in the military as a quick camouflage option as we always have Army issued spray cans lying around. Proud that y’all are taking your freedom and preparing so seriously being that I’m an American 🇺🇸
Also another tip move the tourniquet to your chest rig on your right side right next to the shotgun shell holder and above the knife. You can use rubber bands and loop them through the Molle loops and put the tourniquet through the rubber bands that way it’s secure and can be easily pulled off. If I could send pictures I’d show how we set that up on our plate carriers.

Great video, thank you for sharing. If I may make a suggestion for items to enhance your "pack". This is what I have done for my 'grab-n-go' bag: Take large diameter plastic beverage straws, pinch off one end with needle nosed pliers then melt that end and quickly pinch the end until it cools and seals (about 10 to 20 seconds). Then, fill the straw with what you need most (water tight). Then seal the open end in the same manner. This is what I put in my straws: spaghetti, rice, salt, sugar, coffee, creamer, cocoa mix, matches and striker, cotton balls (soaked in vaseline), small beans, dry spices, sewing needles and thread and assorted other items. These straws take up very little space and you can store enough food for at least one day, to supplement other food items in your backpack. I am not the originator of this technique, I learned it from a mountain game hunter years ago and share it with anyone that wants to learn. Sincerely hope you never have to defend your homeland like Ukraine is doing now.

A couple points of critique I noticed: Keep your main TQ exposed in a minimal, but sturdy pouch or retainer. If you go down alone and you have to open a pouch to gain access to your TQ then stop arterial bleeding, you're going to lose to that bleeding. There are tons of cheap TQ pouches out there that retain it, but allow for easy access. Also, store it high or open and visible so you and your buddies know exactly where it is. TQs save lives, but only if you can apply them in time. Not sure how all the cold weather gear affects their effectiveness, but its definitely something to look into for that environment. Next, move the radio pouch. You cant be effective in a prone position with a piece of black gear shoved into your stomach. Put it on your side, or at least to the side on your chest so you can lay prone with no inhibitions. Finally, paint your shiny. Shiny is the enemy of concealment. The outside of your survival kit, your canteen cup, and your chest mounted shells. Shove the shells all the way into the elastic so they don't give off a shiny profile, and paint the outside of your messkits. The orange on your mainpack isn't as bad, but if you can make it tactical, then do so. A comment below touched on your map. I can only agree to what @Alejandro Ayora said. OPSEC (Operational Security) is extremely important. Don't be the guy that gets all the other guys killed when the enemy figures out where everyone's shit is because you didn't police your map. The orces are pretty stupid, but they're not that stupid. One last thing, look into COMMSEC and signal footprints. Not sure what your background is or how much you know about radios, but when you key that radio or turn on that phone, the enemy can find you. Research that and know how to be effective in spite of it. Comm windows and minimal communication are essential. God bless you and I pray you never have to put these things into practice, but Fuck Russia.
Another good idea is to have 4 tourniquets one on each limb snugged but not tight secured maybe with a clothes pin so if you are hit all you do is tighten the strap and crank it down
@@americanmilitiaman88 I would say absolutely not. There is no way in hell that that's good advice. You don't need to carry four when you can carry one. You don't need to pre-apply them when you can have them stowed, but available. If your buddy goes down, then you use his equally readily available TQ to stop his bleeding. However, if it isn't readily available, then you need to use your own. There is no way in hell pre-applying a TQ will ever be a good idea. Keep them stowed and accessible. Carry one, maybe two. And don't sacrifice the durability by keeping them exposed and "wrapped around each limb." Unless that reply was bait, then gg.

Hey brother. Just a side note for your combat ifak. If u put it closer to your center line you can reach it with both hands in case one arm is unusable. Also have the one on your person clearly marked. Generally in combat it's a buddy treating you with your ifak so the need to be able to find it themselves in case you're unable to communicate. Nick, I will pray long and hard for you , your fellow countrymen and those you love on a daily basis. I know what you are going through. I served in the US Marines during the Vietnam era. When I was a young child, my parents and I left Czechoslovakia during the Russian takeover. They wanted to kill my parents and rape my mother. We were in displaced persons camps in Germany and left Europe by way of the US Army. We became naturalized citizens here. All Slavic people are brothers and sisters who simply want peace but the Russian government will not allow it.The places it has sent it's military are only the beginning, it wants to dominate all Slavic countries and regions as well as other nations as well. The Russian government has failed to remember that communism doesn't work as they embrace communist China, which also shares in the desires to dominate. It makes me think that the Russian government has become puppets of China. This is a danger in their alliance. The entire world is in trouble if this is the case. China is pouring money and resources into Africa and South America creating highly volatile and dangerous situations for neighboring countries. It is imperative that Georgians defeat the Russians along with other threatened Slavic countries. Nick you are a brave man, survivalist, bushcrafter, outdoorsman and warrior. I just wished that some of these commentors and viewers would send you money to help you. I am praying about sending money to you, maybe through patreon. I am talking about this tomorrow with my wife, to see what we can do. I will be looking at all my options and you don't have to send me anything, if I choose to send you money. You don't need to worry about such things because you need to stay focused on the war in your area. I would just like to know how you are doing and to get a progress report occasionally. You take good care of yourself and I will try to figure out if I can send you something. God bless you and be with you and keep you safe my brother ! Semper Fidelis ! (Always Faithful) is the meaning. It is the Marine motto.
I'm currently trying to save up to buy a pistol and body armor , if you can contribute to that , it would really make a difference to me. Thanks for sharing your experience and thanks for watching Nick
@@HFSurvivalSchool best sidearm or pistol would be a revolver. Yes they aren't as fast as most semiauto pistols, but more reliable and less prone to jams, and you don't have to worry about magazines.
@Kašpar Johan a sidearm's weight vs another rifle is a huge difference. A simple revolver can weigh as little as 2lbs, and depending on the ammo type, he could carry 500 rnds of .22lr or even 200 rnds in calibers up to .44Mag. A basic no fancy optics and gaer AK platform rifle is 9.5lbs by itself, add in the additional weight of roughly 2 lbs per loaded AK magazine, he would max carry 10 AK mags. Personally a revolver seems more useful in conjunction with the hunting rifle, and shotgun, less hassle and weight to carry.

@@roc_cave2107 Remember also Ichkeria. These people wanted freedom, they created their own republic, but Russia considered nothing more than its another colony. The first Chechen war ended in failure and the signing of the Khasavyurt Treaty, and then a few years later it attacked again. This proves one quote "Treaties with the Russians are not worth the paper they are written on." The same with the Budapest Memorandum, where Russia was obliged to defend Ukraine, not attack it. In 2014-2015, the Russians wanted to throw off power in Kyiv to the pro-Russian one by creating "people's republics", but this one failed. Now she has brought in troops and wants to seize territories, which is not surprising, because the Russians have always been like that. Is always. Even if the Russians withdraw their troops from the territory of Ukraine, sign a "peace treaty", it must be remembered that the Russian-Ukrainian war is a victory in a battle, but not in a war. Russia will never give up its imperialist ambitions, and maybe in 2-3 years, or maybe 5-10 years, invade Ukraine again, but this time more prepared.
I’m praying that it doesn’t come to that for y’all. . Like I told Vadim on his video it’s a shame the politicians and the bureaucrats aren’t the ones doing the fighting instead of the citizens . Stay safe
I was in the second battle of Fallujah, the Marines in the first battle about had Fallujah secured when a political Paul Bremmer said he was going to negotiate with the insurgents holding the town. Well for 8 months they "talked" basically he gave them 8 months to fortify and set up weapon caches and booby trap everything, and we had to go in. We lost 31 Marines there, a 1/3 of my platoon had been wounded, and the ones of us that served there carry those memories daily. Paul Bremmer should have been there with us so he could see the result of his 8 months of "talking". Proud of my Marines and what we accomplished, but I agree 100%, they should be there with us, then they wouldn't throw human lives around so freely

They spray painted everything rifles, web gear, whatever it was it most likely was spray painted.
For this I would recommend investing in some British surplus if you are fighting like this. DPM is cheap, useful and very common. It’s a standard British woodland camo from the 90’s. I recommend a high back Bergen with side pouches, a ballistic helmet with dpm cover, dpm trousers, dpm smock and some dpm webbing. This will help with load carrying and can carry food, magazines and other supplies. Also investing in cam cream to stop the skin from shining making you less visible to the enemy! This is kit I would recommend to anyone in a woodland/ grassland setting!
Great build. I would really encourage you to leave that cell phone at home though, and tell your friends to do the same. If this truly is designed to resist a powerful force like the Russian military, there are a lot of reasons you don’t want to be bringing cell phones to your hide sites. Wish you well in the days ahead.
Interesting. A few thoughts, just based on my study of History: 1. Stay light. The large axe is overkill. Replace it with much more food and the smallest hatchet or large knife that will do the job. 2. Carry way more food. You should be stocking up on food to last you months, and you should be carrying enough to keep you going for many days in the field. 3. A space blanket, both for survival purposes and to hide from IR, which will be a big deal. 4. Get as much training as you possibly can. Going to war is no joke, and poorly trained partisans will be slaughtered if they don't really, really know what they're doing. Focus on intelligence, logistics, and communication and cooperation with larger forces. 5. Don't get in the way of regular troops, and if at all possible, try to cooperate with the main army or government, or whatever remains of it. I imagine such an offer will be rejected until the situation gets desperate. But in either case, don't get in the way, and I stress again, focus on intelligence and logistics. 6. Learn as much as you can, and take advice from people who have served in the military, especially those who have served in higher command roles and logistics or intelligence. They'll be able to offer you far, far better advice than I can or any other keyboard warrior on the internet.
A smaller Axe means you'd have to work harder when cutting firewood and shelters. His axe is not big, probably less than 2lb head, it's high carbon steel and can do everything a knife can and more. He only needs more food if his forest doesn't have much available. I'm an indigenous man and can live in my own backyard without carrying any food. This is his backyard and his family has been there for generations. I think this man did very well for himself. The only thing I'd recommend is a slingshot for birds and small game. A slingshot helps conserve ammo as well as hunt without noise. Also eat every edible part of anything you catch. Pluck birds instead of skinning, eat the eyes and brains (these are high in fat) as well a organ meat. Some people think eating these parts are gross but I believe throwing away edible parts of an animal is truly gross and incredibly wastefull. Good luck my friend and stay safe.

Mr DuPont he probably didn't have a Hatchet but will defently need that small Axe. one little note regarding the info on your map, try to carry the map untouched and instead get a sheet of transparent acetate to write the info on there. only you should know exactly where to put the acetate sheet so it overlays on top of the map. that way you wont compromise your other shelters if the map gets captured.
godspeed man
That is a great idea! I would never have thought of that...thank you so much for sharing.
wow thats intense man great thinking
@@KiwiBushcraftAndSurvival I don't think GPS receivers transmit signals.
@@stupedcraig Yup some do, like the Garmin Rhino 750 2-Way Radio/GPS. They transmit when you talk through them to other users and I believe they can also transmit your GPS location to other Garmin Rhino's. All of these could be intercepted.

This is a terrifying concept. I hope things go in a manner where you don't need to bug out. These past few years have taught me I need to train, learn, and practice. I wish you the best, brother.
It’s not just a concept. Russia invaded Georgia once already back in 2008 and still occupied parts of the country.

Or just use a black marker and cancel the orange part at least.

Those fold up saws are fantastic 👍

The 30-06 would be great if one can remain stealthy, pop one guy and then bugger off. But an AK would be more versatile than a 12ga as a combat weapon if you get sticky.

@@ambjornborjesson5481 Partisan warfare is all about taking one pop and disappearing.

Love the kit. If I may offer some constructive criticism, the Baofeng radio and especially the cellphone, are very easy to track. In conflict, I would abandon the cellphone altogether. Hey brother. Just a side note for your combat ifak. If u put it closer to your center line you can reach it with both hands in case one arm is unusable.

@@ajergus8443 definitely.
This is really cool, dude.
I hope you're still safe. I can't imagine making a survival kit video while my country is actually under duress
My prayers go out to your and your brothers in arms! Keep up the good fight! God bless and always fight for freedom!
I’m praying that it doesn’t come to that for y’all. . Like I told Vadim on his video it’s a shame the politicians and the bureaucrats aren’t the ones doing the fighting instead of the citizens . Stay safe
Thank you very much my friend !
@@hatfieldmccoy0311 I have no use for bureaucrats or most politicians for that matter. Thank you for your service. Damn shame the politicians don’t fight the battles they start and oversee. Put them all in the colosseum…
@@hatfieldmccoy0311 politicians always screw things up. 🙏 for Marines you lost!
My dear brother, may God send his angels to protect you your people and the people of Ukraine, may he also bring judgment upon the evil who lurks in Russia may he also bless the Russian people the innocent, the children, we pray every night for these things that only God can provide be safe, be careful, and as much as you can let us know the world the truth of what you see. As always blessings Pastor Mike Marino from Colorado USA.
My dear friend , thank you very much , means a lot to hear that from you and always a joy to read your comments.
Thanks
Nick
Very good and interesting video sir, we’re praying for your safety and that you’ll never have to use those skills and tools. As far as the color concern of your bag. It can be fixed when a can of spray paint. Look at all the picture of the gear guys were carrying in the early days of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. They spray painted everything rifles, web gear, whatever it was it most likely was spray painted.
Thanks for watching !
And some stencils, either natural (leaves etc), man made (your own)...or perhaps purchased online, loads of interesting patterns available
Yeah that bag color isn't the biggest problem. it's relatively minor.
My grandfather use 30-06 in ww2 and he said it's a great round and I use it here in the USA 🇺🇸 it has great range . Good hunting.
A few thoughts, just based on my study of History:
We have many friends who served , had been in wars and are hardened men.
Thanks for your advices and thanks for watching

@@billygauthier9512 I'd feed what you said people think is gross to eat to my Dog because he has to eat also.
I'd hate to be in that Situation.
I hope we USA never gets invaded.
I really feel sorry for this Man.
Maby he will contact me so I can send him some Super Special 12 Gauge Rounds.
This will be like I did something to help him and the Ukrainian People.
@@billygauthier9512 I'm sorry Mr Gauthier I got you and Mr DuPont mixed up .
My Bad please forgive me.
I apprentice and enjoyed your input good stuff.
Mr DuPont he probably didn't have a Hatchet but will defently need that small Axe.
As far as the Emergency Space Blanket, it will get you killed being that it's Shiny and bright silver not Camouflage or even Earth Color.
That's good about what you said with staying out of the way.
Unless to get organized into Guerrilla type Warfare Teams and get Supplies or Weapons & Ammo.
You say some good things Mr DuPont for being an Armchair Warrior.
GOD BLESS U and all UKRAINE !! LONG LIVE FREE UKRAINE !
I have many of those same things, but I'm in Texas so my cold weather gear is not as substantial, and I also have ways to procure food, fishing, snaring, hunting. But I like the idea of a smaller bag for a grab and go, but I keep something like that on some other kit. Very cool bag man. Good luck out there. Stay frosty.
Hello,i noticed that you are left handed (like me) but your shotgun is for right hand shooters ,do you get any problems when you soot and the empty shells pass through your ayes?? why you haven't choose a left hand model?? what model is the gun you have now??thanks in advance, stay safe and good luck !
How ur skills gonna work against Russian rocket system?
Just a thought, if one of your crew get captured or killed with a map marking your locations that could be the end of the rest of you.
Sure they get rid of the map get use to it . Hide grids coordinates in note book some simple to the person code. Memorize most important ones. Wouldn't just program in GPS.
Тримайся друже. Бережи себе. Слава Україні
Very inspiring video. We should all prepare this well. God Bless you from Pennsylvania USA
Thanks for watching!
Nice video man and great gear! Do you have any kind of pliars based multitool like leatherman, gerber, sog, victorinox swiss tool? Maybe it would be handy as a car repaiting in a pinch, backup knife, cutting barb wire or fence.....
It's not a fairytale my friend, it's reality. Ukraine is the hero of the world. I hope you and your family and friends are in good health. Slava Ukraine ✊
Gratitude for your interesting video. I particularly liked your Boreal saw. I am actually ready to buy a new saw. And how this bow saw stows away is impressive. I agree about woodland camo. I'm Scottish & this camo is perfect for my country also. ✌️👍✌️
sako 180gr
Раз уж он так серьезно готовится к русскому вторжению, то лучше бы у него тоже мушка отвалилась 😂
God bless you and keep you. Very informative video. I am hoping this war ends soon. That's great that you are defending your country. Hang in there and never give up!
I would consider moving the radio more on the side, as a sniper you would lay a lot and it will at the very least disturb you a lot. Baofengs are also not very robust, so you could break it when you need to hit the ground and there is for example a stone under you.
I wish you and your group all the best, my country also has a border with Russia so similar preparations are ongoing. I hope we won't need them!
Thanks for watching
May God grant you wisdom and direct your path. Stay strong and keep the faith.
Salute from Finland. I am confident you will stand your ground and destroy invaders should they come. High spirits are the foundation of homeland defense as history has shown for Finland, Ukraine and Georgia. What you will need is a good body armor and NIR compliant combat uniforms.
Wow I cannot imagine such tribulation in our time. Very sad to see you braving these circumstances. Your courage and even your humor is bright. Stay safe and god bless you.
Great mental health to hear you preparing for the inevitable invasion. Remember to stay humble and pray daily. God can work with the humble. Keep your head up and remember to take it one hour at a time. Don't gett mentally bogged down over loss. It's important for your survival to stay positive and clear headed. Can't do that when your only dealing with loss. It's gunna be a long fight. Stash food where ever you can. Like most wars, ammo and weapons will be plentiful when it's going. Food and water will be your greatest challenge during winter and spring
A lot more interesting than the usual day pack download video. Thanks.
