  • The wrong headlights used a problem thats all to common.
    Best Headlights LED or Halogen? test performed with a light meter to measure Lux and we check each headlight for the longest distance beam. with a side by side comparison to review the brightest Headlights on the road. Also showing color temperatures example 600k Kelvin which is white but close to blue. 3200k more of a yellow orange warm color. power needed, efficiency. very detailed procedures for you to make a informative decision if you should upgrade stock Headlights. price point not to mention advantages and disadvantages.
    we are using Led headlights sent to Nates interactive auto. I have not been paid by Audew but only sent lights for me to test. so we can see who makes the best Headlights. would you like to see HID tested next? we also show how easy and fast it is to install headlights on a 2014 Hyundai elantra gt.

      That's actually false the housing don't matter its the installation that's the issue. People buy led or hid lights and just install them which is not the proper way. When installation new lights light led or hid you leave your original Halogen bulb in on one side and adjust the led or hid side accordingly to match the Halogen side then install the other side matching the height of the already adjusted side. Doing this keeps your lights in proper adjustment that doesn't blind anyone. People who do lift kits in trucks also don't adjust for the lift. Ive installed hundreds of lights never had an issue. Led and hid are far superior to Halogen lights

      @@icypanda2376 Funny you mention the pitch black country. I'm in the mountains. When it's pitch black and someone with the LEDs is approaching, it's tough to see if that's a pothole, rock, roadkill, tree limb, or whatever because I'm looking at the line... and I'm in an SUV. Can't imagine what older sedans go through, though I remember last decade being blinded in my '96 Outback simply because it was lower to the ground while everyone in newer vehicles were higher up with their low lights aimed right in my face and still blinding me.
      It's not just about looking to the line. It's car/ driver height. It's headlight angle. It's pitch black vs lights in your face. It's not as bad in the cities when there is some ambient light. But you get on the winding backroads with a waning moon or cloud cover? Opposing traffic can blind you at the worst time, and no amount of "look to the side" can prevent some accidents.

I personally can't say that I've been "blinded" by another person headlights, is it more difficult to see sometimes... a little bit, but I almost always just look towards the line and I can see everything I need to. Maybe it's the windy roads where the main issues occur. I don't have too many windy roads around me and the ones that are near are pretty wide and you can usually see when someone's coming around the next corner. Also just wanted to say the 20,000 lumens was just me joking I do have LED's but they're nowhere near that strong!

    • @Undomaranel
      @Undomaranel 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@icypanda2376 I'm in WA. Out east we have wide, straight roads that aren't an issue except the odd tumbleweed and deer. In the middle we have winding highways filled with trees, rocks, coyotes, porcupine, skunk, you name it. Then out west it's trees on either side blocking out every scrap of light, clouds and rain, and all the wildlife I mentioned plus elk, bear, beaver, otter, etc. And birds, owls to magpies you _will_ hit a bird and/or marmot out here. Being able to see is key, which is why I don't begrudge people the LEDs (though the reflections on puddles are trippy). But at the same time, older vehicles get it the worst because everything newer than '00 is just higher off the ground.
      It's one of those situations where there's pros and cons, and if you're driving then just be aware... and doubly aware in the dark anyway. Safe driving fam!

    Yes led cause crashes at night because they blind on coming traffic White light destroys night vision leds would be the better choice if the manufacturer would adjust the color temperature of the light to be closer to that of halogen
    I do a lot of night driving and if leds are aligned properly can be acceptable but do still cause issues with blinding on coming traffic I also have driven a couple of trucks with leds and love them in the rain but I still prefer my halogen lights for my high beams they seem to do a better job than high beam leds but I do think low beam leds could be the best with some work from the manufacturers with proper alignment and a slightly different color temperature
    Tired of having my eye balls burned out of my head every night by misaligned leds

    Projector style headlight housings can have LED bulbs installed without blinding other drivers because projector style headlight housings direct the light beam on the road much more effectively.

    I switched from halogen bulbs to LED bulbs since the City of Los Angeles passed a law named "The Right To Walk." That law allows pedestrians to cross the streets and exempt pedestrians from adhering to the rules. They don't have to walk to the light or to a pedestrian sign to cross the streets safely. In many occasions I see people at night wearing dark clothes jumping onto the streets even when they see traffic coming. If it wasn't for my LED headlights, I would have ran over a guy who was under the influence of drugs kneeled on the street in an area where it was really dark and he was wearing black clothes. The brightest factory headlights among sedan vehicles are the ones on Tesla vehicles. No government will force Elon Musk to recall all of his vehicles to change the LED bulbs and replace them with halogen bulbs. They will go after low end vehicles with LED headlights, but governments will give a pass to expensive vehicles' manufacturers. What about SUV and trucks that have bright LED headlights and two sets of LED fog lights? I don't see the police or the highway patrol stopping them when they have both sets of fog lights and their headlights on.

    I can confirm my retina have suffered significant, irreparable scarring from the weapons grade LEDs people are using here- I have a Ginger friend who hasn't shaved in several years, he only has to travel at night and he'll be stubble free for 2 days.
    My immediate advice to you would be to buff both of your headlights. In the thumbnail, it looks like you've polished one of them- the fog on the surface scatters your beam. It's why one of your headlights looks like a headlight, and the other looks like you've trapped Tinkerbell in some milk.

If you need good headlights though that are halogens, I’d go with Sylvia is silverstar ultra, silverstar ZXE, or ZXE gold bulbs. I work at an advance auto parts and I can say from owning the golds that they’re some of the best halogens that money can buy that aren’t at the LED level of brightness.

Most people dont realize that headlight aiming can changes noticeably after a full load, new tires, new shocks, and ride height adjustments. Even difference between empty and full tank of gas.
