I'm so confused. I watched this to see your example of a monologue but it was never added. Like, I was hoping to see someone explain it, then do it, so I can be like "oooooh, I get it." Am I missing something???
I should have added it! at the time, I was shy to post my monologues. I’m hoping to redo this video sometime in the future! I hope you were able to at least get some tips from me tho!

so basically is it saying to find a monologue that isn’t based on a play or movie, etc and make up your own characters for the monologue?

so would you just put the short clips of you acting, and would you have someone else in the room reading the monologue of the person you’re speaking to?
hey! yes you would put the whole monologue in the demo reel, roughly 1-2 minutes if you can. and no need to have another person speaking because a monologue is one person speaking! ☺️

im currently filming a video that is in a long process, BUT i will add the reel in that for sure! or i may just post it seperate. ive taken your guys’ comments and will definitely post the reel on my channel! :)

do you just submit one monologue scene in your reel? or do you do multiple like two scenes?
usually anything that gets you within 1-3 minutes in length!

so in a demo real you got to put severals clips of 30 seconde ? not juste one big monologue of 2 mn? I am bit lost lmao
casting directors really do not like monologues. so if you will record any, make sure its short for your first demo. or, as prefered, a scene with someone else (them off frame, you in frame). and overtime you will add clips of you in scene work! hope this helps 🤍
Can I use a monologue from a well known movie for my demo reel? Ur vid is really good btw I don’t get why you don’t have more subs
omg hi! thank you so much for this comment❤️ from my research, i have heard that its not a good idea to use very well known movie monologues and the reason for that is because casting directors, agents, etc, have seen it all. think of it this way, if you saw the same movie clip over & over & over again, you would get tired of it; same goes for these guys. they will either get bored (not pay as much attention), or compare (you to other versions of the scene). instead, go for a less “popular” movie & keep them hooked!! ⭐️ and omg you are the sweetest! i screenshoted this comment frfr it was so cute🥺 i appreciate you. hope i helped and good luck to you!! 😊🫶🏻

How should you edit your demo reel and should you have an introduction for it? If so what should you say?
no introduction needed, start with acting clips right away! a great thing that has helped me was watch some examples here on youtube! good luck🫶🏻
