I feel like an idiot, i managed to take it apart to clean the fan without removing the keyboard from the top, and have for days been trying to get the power button cable in place by using anything including Popsicle sticks, thought there must be a trick to it, and found your video, ya so much easier with the keyboard out of the way. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this.

Gracias por el video, me sirvió mucho, pude cambiar la pasta Térmica, consejo para alguien que lo haga y vaya a quitar el teclado, les recomiendo que lo hagan con un destornillador plano pequeño en la parte superior del teclado para quitar los cierres,
if I have two dv5-1040's and one of them has a faulty mainboard (no switchin on without hairdryer warming applied due to cold welds), can I simply take the working one from another computer with its processor, network card, graphic processor etc., and replace the faulty one? will there be any key conflict to start Windows normally after the switch?
Una pregunta yo desarme mi lap el mismo modelo que el tuyo la arme nuevamente quedo todo bien pero el bluetooth ya no aparece, sabes si quedo desconectado o que fue lo que paso ? Y tambien ya no se ilumina el logo de HP
