hinking of staying here or Eden Roc, are you basically a hostage to the food and restaurants on the property or are there other places to eat within walking distance? How well does the AC work in the rooms, is the water pressure and temperature stable, are the pools heated at the resort and in the rooms with the pools, any issues with privacy and obtaining a beach chair, can you rent a cabana for the day, how is the Wi-Fi is it spotty or non-existent? Is there a hot tub and heated? Is the resort noisy? Is the seaweed bad and the ocean swimmable? Does one need to make reservations for dinner? Debating on going first week or two of November. Thank you for your time!
Thanks for the great review. I've followed your reviews for a while and have booked the Andaz Papagayo as well as Le Blanc Cabo (Appreciated the one year follow up video for that property as well). I was torn between this property and the Hyatt in Aruba but may move forward with Cap Cana. The one thing that prompted me to comment was to thank you for your disclaimer on the fact that yall were upgraded. I appreciate the honesty and appreciate that you guys discussed what room you generally book into with the award program.
Thank you so much! That means so much to us, Aammar! I’m so glad our videos help you plan your trips 🙏🙏. Between the cap Cana Hyatt and Aruba I would 100% say Cap Cana- not only is it all inclusive and absolutely incredible food and beverage but it’s brand new and the beach is spectacular. For the same amount of points, the value at cap Cana is significantly higher in our opinion. Let us know where you end up!!
Hey Anita! Thanks for reaching out! There was definitely entertainment every evening but it's generally a very chill place. I wouldn't consider it a big party hotel, but they do have some late night venues that you can access so you can seek out a party, if that makes sense. There was a big sports game when we were there and a lot of the adults were at the sports bar having a great time so it definitely exists!
Hey great stuff & info......how was the commute from the airport to the hotel ? We’re COVID protocols in place, was the wait time short / delayed? Would you recommend upgrade etc
Hey there! The airport is about 20 minutes away driving - cap Cana is a super safe gated community so no one comes in or out without being registered as a guest. Playa resorts does an exceptional job with covid protocols from social distancing to food and beverage services - everything is dramatically different than before. We were super comfortable with what they were doing. There were many guests when we were there so I can’t speak to the service wait times but I’d be curious to see how that changes with more guests. I definitely recommend an upgrade to club level - having the a la carts restaurants for breakfast and lunch are HUGE. Also, the butler service is excellent. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Hey Carlos! Thanks for your comment - there is currently no quarantine requirement in the DR. We do recommend taking a covid test or quarantining BEFORE you travel to make sure you are safe getting down there but otherwise, there is no requirement. The hotel will also provide covid tests pre departure to the USA
It looks pretty desolate. Are the hotels mostly empty because of covid? Was there much ambiance? I want to go soon but I’ve seen some YT videos that have me thinking otherwise (no people around).
Hey Carlos! thanks for your comment. One thing to note about this current situation is you will find that the more expensive resorts are going to be on the quieter side. The less expensive resorts, or resorts who have dramatically dropped their rates during COVID, are going to have a lot more people at them. Locals from other areas of the country are also driving down to punta cana since there is no where else to go - you'll definitely find the bavaro beach resorts much more lively in that sense. Hyatt is going to be quieter, much less people (which is preferable for us during this time), but we still found there to be a nice ambiance. You won't find parties here, but they still do a good job maintaining the atmosphere. If you're looking to have more people around, I would check out our review of the Royalton! Let us know if you have any questions :)
Hi! About dining between Ziva and Zilara, is it possible to dine in Zilara whilst staying at Ziva? We're an older family with our youngest being 17 - are they strict on the adults only?
Hey Elias! Thanks for your comment! You can definitely move freely between the two properties and dine at either one. To be honest, I think you’ll be ok - as long as they act like an adult I’m certain they wouldn’t notice. It could be worth asking but idk…ask for forgiveness? ;) I wouldn’t go into it expecting to be let in, because it’s possible to be turned around but it’s worth a shot!
Great detailed review. One specific question---I'm very wine-centric (unlike most Caribbean vacationers, I know!), so a good choice of wines is important to me. Could you comment on the wines offered as part of the all-inclusive, as well as any premium bottle lists? Also, are shade umbrellas offered for the beach lounge chairs? I've been debating between the Zilara and the newly opened Live Aqua. If you have any inside knowledge of the Live Aqua, could you offer a comparison? Thanks for any help you can give!
Hi Tom! Thanks for reaching out! Lucky for you- I am much the same. I don't drink beer and I prefer a good glass of Rosé over a cocktail on most days :). I found the included wines at the Zilara/Ziva to be nicer than the majority of the comparable properties in the area. The brand that was consistently poured into my glass was "Astica". They had a red (malbec blend), White (sauvignon blanc) and then a different brand of Rosé that I can't recall the name of. They likely have other options as well, those are just ones I preferred and recall. The Rosé was my favorite and appears to be available in the club lounge/club bar. I requested the rosé at the restaurants and they went and got it for me from somewhere as it wasn't stocked in the normal bars at the time. I did not do a deep dive on the wine list, but we did have a chance to do a wine pairing with a private meal at Brando's and the wines were all excellent - all imported, good wine. The F&B Director is fabulous and very picky so I can only imagine the wine-for-purchase list is very good. I would recommend reaching out to the concierge if you are curious about the brands/prices. I have made a note to myself to include this in future videos as well. Regarding beach chairs and umbrellas, they do have little palapas on the beach for shade. One of the waiters offered to bring us a real umbrella if we preferred that as well. Re: Live Aqua - I have heard great things about the property. I am hoping to stay there to get a good comparison, but what I CAN say from my research thus far is that the water is going to be darker and the property is a bit narrower so there will be a slightly smaller beach. The Zilara frankly has an unbeatable location and any sargassum that would be prevalent will be stuck behind the extensive barrier that Cap Cana has put in. Live Aqua is not in a gated community and therefore doesn't have the same seaweed prevention. Not sure that matters- it depends on the season. However, if you go to google maps > satellite view, you will be able to see the difference of the beach between the Zilara and the properties alone Uvero Alto area where the Live Aqua is. Zilara is on Playa Juanillo with only the Secrets and a beach club to each side so it's naturally going to be much quieter than in Punta Cana, where its a public beach and you will have more action, people selling things, etc. I hope this was helpful! Let us know any other questions you have :)
Hello thank you for very good information about this hotel, I have a question there’s any extra money should be pay extra?? Like gazebo , place on the beach??? And if there’s like a preference club for adults or not?? I mean if I’m going to book this resort?? Thank you!
Hi Lena, thank you so much for your comment! Regarding extras, I would definitely recommend the club level. You get access to the beachfront ala carte restaurant for breakfast and lunch, which is not available for standard rooms. We definitely love that aspect. Also, the spa - we did not go, but wish we had- we heard it was amazing. Lastly, they do offer romantic dinners and things like that- I would recommend waiting until you are on property to decide if you want to buy anything extra like a romantic dinner or other things like that so you can pick your favorite options within your budget :). Our favorite restaurant was definitely the Tahitian one- so highly recommend!
Fabulous video guys, what more can one ask for when it comes to your details?? Very thorough and informative, I am an official new subscriber so thank you both so much! I'll be booking at the Zilara for sure with my friends, we can't wait to jump into that ocean and I'm SURE...... we'll get our all inclusive worth at the many bars, lol!!
Thank you so much for your comment! It means a lot to us. So glad you found it helpful :). And LOL! Yes you can definitely get a great value out of your holiday between the amazing bars and restaurants! Dont forget to try the Polynesian restaurant! It’s INCREDIBLE!
Hey Lorayah! Thanks for reaching out. It's tough- they both have waterparks, kids clubs and great service. They're both excellent hotels for families. The Hyatt has more food venues and more facilities and is brand new so in general, I'd say Hyatt. However, if you can get a great deal on the Hilton, it's worth going because it's a wonderful hotel. The beach is calm, gorgeous water at both and they're both very safe. Rooms are a bit bigger at Hyatt so that could be a factor for you as well - the rooms at the Hilton are very small. Let me know what other questions you have!
@@lorayaht.lenore6646 Anytime!! So there wasn't much when we were there because of COVID and how empty it was at both places, but I've heard from others that its usually very good. They do have family entertainment at both like blue man group style shows, dancers, live music etc. We did see a singer in the lobby of the adults side of Hilton that was fun to see. They do have entertainment every night so I think you'll enjoy either property when it comes to entertainment
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for your comment! They’re both great hotels, I’d say the Hyatt zilara was a bit more high end when it comes to food/restaurants as well as the service. Everything was super refined and it almost felt like you weren’t at an all inclusive when it comes to how they plate the food and the level of execution. It typically has a higher price tag, unsurprisingly given this. I’d say you can’t go wrong but Hyatt is going to be higher end all around. It’s only 25k Hyatt points as well, which is a fantastic deal
Hey Karen! Thanks for reaching out :) hmm overall I’d say Hyatt is higher quality all around with food, service and the beach. The rooms at sanctuary are amazing and unique, but I think you’d be Hyatt to be a better value to be honest. Unless sanctuary is half the price, Hyatt all the way :)
@@VoyagerGuru Thank you! For my Aug/Sept dates the Hyatt is $510/night. Expensive. Sancutary $431/night. Both Ocean View rooms. The Sanctuary seems a bit isolated and quiet.
@@karenbraxton4948 thanks for your reply, Karen! Gotcha so not super different, but enough of a cost increase. So both properties are inside Cap Cana which is a gated community, both super safe. Sanctuary isn't next to anything on the beach and the beach is much smaller. It does have a little "pueblo" that other hotels can access that sits across from the main entrance. guests at sanctuary can access a few of the restaurants for free and pay at others. its not big, but there is potentially some interaction with others outside the hotel. Hyatt is on a much larger beach and sits next to secrets cap cana so there's more "happening" on the beachfront. Sanctuary caters more to romance and couples while hyatt zilara caters to adults/couples but also friend groups and everything centers around the pools and the beach so its easy to meet people. we had an easy time chatting with others at Hyatt. In terms of quiet, i do think sanctuary will be more quiet since it does focus more on the romance and couples. rooms at hyatt are going to be "newer" feeling since it was recently built with all the modern amenities, sanctuary will be a bit older but feel more romantic and homey if that makes sense. If you're going for a fun friends trip, i would say the splurge is worth it with Hyatt
Hi Gina! Thanks so much for your comment! That’s so exciting that you are booking next April :). The hotel does not offer a shuttle service, although they could coordinate a ride for you but that is usually a more expensive option. There are a few ways you can get to the hotel - taxis are very readily available at punta cana airport and there’s also shuttle services you can book in advance - if you need any help picking one let me know :)
@@VoyagerGuru thank you such! Me and my fiance are working with a travel agent so I will be definitely talking to her about that! I reay enjoyed your video it was very helpful. Yes it is exciting! Thank you!
Hey Max! This was the master suite. The grand master is oceanfront and slightly larger - this suite was perfect for us and had a great view - highly recommend!! Let us know what other questions you have :)
Hey there! We were there during Covid and it was still pretty solid so I imagine now will be even better! They have bands, karaoke, djs - it depends on the day of the week :) but it’s a very fun place
Overall nice and informative review. Would have liked a review of cocktail lounges if there are any and how are rated? Some more details about beach such as if there are any beach beds for club members? Thanks.
Hey Deem! Nice to meet you and thank you very much for the comment - that’s great feedback for future reviews. Regarding cocktail lounges, they have 29 bars on property so there certainly is a LOT to choose from. The sports bar was very lively at night and served exceptional cocktails (my fave was the mojito). There is also a speakeasy that looks very cool and more “loungey” but it was closed during our stay due to occupancy. I would rate the cocktails a solid 4.5 across all our restaurants and bar experiences in property. We tried a range of sugary frozen drinks and some more refined cocktails and they were overall very very good. The club guests have access to two private pools across ziva and zilara where they do have pool service for drinks. They do serve drinks on the beach as well but there is no dedicated club section of the beach. They do not serve food to you at the pool or the beach, however. The club pool is nice but we prefer the view of the ocean so we liked hanging out at the pool that faces the ocean. There are two options of beach chairs - classic chaise loungers and the palapas. We loved the palapas and they did give us a free palapa so I would inquire if they’d give you one. Very nice experience! So let us know if you have any other questions any time
Thank you so much, Octavia! At the time of our stay, there we’re so few people at the hotel but I think they said 8pm. Now that COVID restrictions have lifted I’m not entirely sure what the rules are to be honest. The beach I think you can be on at any time :)
How did you get to fly your drone? They have a policy against it now. Did you receive permission? I would love to fly mine but don’t want to get in trouble.
Hey there! Thanks for your comment! We did get special permissions because we were working with the hotel. I would recommend asking the hotel for permission as you never know! They might grant it at special times when it won't disturb people :)
Hey Lauren! Thanks for reaching out! I'm so sorry about that! We have a couple articles on our blog here that will hopefully give you more info about their awards program: www.voyagerguru.com/hyatt-credit-card-most-valuable/ www.voyagerguru.com/why-you-should-consider-the-hyatt-credit-card/ www.voyagerguru.com/the-best-hyatt-hotels-to-use-your-free-night/ Also, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! It's honestly been a great program for us because the points are incredibly valuable. If you stay at Hyatts a few times a year, the credit card is totally worth looking into (and I don't get paid for saying that haha, it just genuinely is true. It helped us get into traveling more and getting to stay at some amazing hotels).
Hey there! They have apparently started offering paddle boards again which is fantastic. You can also pay for excursions and other motorized water sports. There is nightly entertainment such as music, shows and fun things like that in their atrium :)
Hey Michael! Thanks for your comment. They don’t have a complimentary shuttle, however, they can coordinate a transfer for you. I’m not sure the cost but if you call the hotel, they can tell you. Cap cana is a really easy and quick stop from the airport, so taxis are also an option that would not cost you a lot of money.
Hello, Thank you for such a great review. I had a few questions I was hoping you could answer. You mentioned if you are staying at one hotel you can eat at all restaurants at both hotels. Does that mean we can eat with the kids at both properties?
Hi there! Thanks for your comment! So the zilara side is adults only and therefore any restaurants on the zilara side are also only for 18+. If you want to dine with the kids, you’ll have to stick to the ziva side - they had amazing restaurants so its not a big deal in that sense. Adults can move between the two sides of the hotel, however, so if you have a baby sitter for a night, you can dine on the zilara side
Hi there! Great question. It really depends on what you're looking for- they're VERY different. Eden Roc is not all inclusive and is an ultra-romantic vacation. The suites are private, the villas are exceptionally private and the hotel is quiet and high end. Hyatt is all inclusive, with tons of activities and a fabulous beachfront. You won't find the same "privacy" as you will with the private villas at Eden Roc but its by far the best all inclusive we have stayed at yet. You can't go wrong with either- it just depends what you are looking for :)
Hi Abigail! Thanks for reaching out! Yes, you can absolutely go between the hotels - they are connected by an interior walkway or the exterior walkway and beach. The only thing is that people under 18 cannot come to the Zilara, but that's the only restriction :). Let us know what other questions you have!
Hey Jo! Thanks for your comment! There wasn't much entertainment while we were there since there weren't many guests so I can't speak too much about it. However, I do know they typically have a long list of activities during the day and performances at night. I did hear someone comment here that the performances were mediocre, but it may just have been an off night. There is a kids club at Ziva and there is an AMAZING water park - it's gigantic. Your kids will have a great time :)
Great video. Was going back and forth between here, the property in Cancun, and the Hard Rock. After watching this, I'm pretty much set on booking our next vacation here. The one question I have is what was the nightlife like during covid?
Hey Bryan!! Thanks so much for your comment! I can say for sure that the beach at the cap cana property is FAR superior to the beaches in cancun. There is no current or waves in Cap Cana so for me, that's a big win as a beach person. When we were at the Zilara in July, even though there weren't many people at the hotel, there was actually a lot going on. They have a great sports bar and bands playing and I believe when there are more people they have many many more bars (29 to be exact) that are open late so you won't run out of things to do. There's also a speakeasy that looked very cool that we didn't get to try. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi Michael! We were there when it was just opening during heavy covid restrictions so it wasn't that exciting to be honest. However, they do offer shows in the main outdoor auditorium as well as singers at the bars. It seems like today, there is a lot going on that wasn't there when we went. They did have one show that was pretty well done. I have no doubt they have a lot going on these days. They also have a fantastic sports bar that was really popular at night.
Hey there! thanks so much for your comment- that is so exciting, congratulations!!! I think some of the most beautiful hotels we have seen for a wedding would be the hyatt zilara and the Hilton La Romana as well. Since both hyatt and hilton are on very private beaches, it's going to be a bit more "private" with less lookyloos. Sanctuary Cap Cana would also be a beautiful choice from an aesthetic perspective because of the architecture and privacy of their beach. Let me know any questions you have!
@@Dpyron23 awesome!! No we have not yet. We did recommend it to someone who didn’t have a great experience so I would personally not recommend it until we can experience it ourselves. They mentioned the food was not great and the clientele was a bit rowdy.
We’re here now and we love it. However the portions for dinner are relatively small for what we’re used to and we are not sure if we can ask for seconds being that this is an all inclusive resort. Would you happen to know if you can get seconds ?
@@VoyagerGuru so Trip is done and the review you gave was spot on. The only 2 gripes we have is the music and not necessarily the food but we would’ve like to see them incorporate some of their culture into their music and entertainment maybe some bachata dance lessons instead of archery or something like that and the food is great however there are so many Dominican dishes that would do great here but just weren’t available. Our next trip will be niyama resort in the Maldives will comment on that video soon. Love you guys 🤙🏽
Hey thanks so much for following up!! Totally good point on the culture side - it would be nice to have some more Dominican inspired options. Love the dance lesson idea- seems like a really easy thing to implement. Make sure you mention this on TripAdvisor or in a survey! They seem to take feedback seriously
Hi Jay! The resorts in the DR are not subject to curfew laws so they remain open. This is because they are self contained entities and people don’t leave the property to eat so it’s a great deal for travelers :)
Hey LeeAnn! Thanks so much :) great question! to our knowledge, they are not heated - they were “refreshing”. I’m not sure if they are heated in colder months but its possible. When we visited it was about 90 degrees so the cold water was welcoming, haha
Hi Iris! Thanks for your comment. They do not offer a complimentary shuttle, however the taxi services are highly regulated at the airport and very reliable. If you prefer a more luxury option, I would recommend calling the hotel directly and they can arrange a transfer for an additional fee :)
Hey Tiffany! Thanks so much! We live part time in the DR so we didn’t do the COVID test there. However, they do free antigen testing to return to the US and it’s REALLY easy and simple. They’ll schedule you for your test when you check in and take great care of you :). We asked a number of people who stayed there around the same time and since. Hope this helps!
Hi Jennifer! To be honest, we were there in July 2020 so there wasn’t much going on from a night life perspective. However they did have some shows and events at night. I believe they’d upped the nightly entertainment now that restrictions are ended and there’s a great sports bar as well. It’s a really nice property so I have no doubt they’ve increased the amount of entertainers and nightlife
Hey Donny! Thanks for your comment! Haha the shirt is actually from target!! It was a “good fellows” brands shirt. Love that one! Also - that’s awesome to hear! I hope you guys have a blast. Let us know how your experience is :)
Hey Grace! We have not yet stayed at Hard Rock so we honestly can't speak to it, but we agree with your friends that Hyatt is incredible. So far, it's the best all-inclusive we have stayed at in Punta Cana so I can confidently tell you it's worth it :).
Is the low occupancy weird? I’m planning on traveling solo and I am worried that it won’t feel safe if there is no one there. Also I like people watching
Hey Lauren! That sounds like a blast! I found the staff to be incredibly professional- I never felt even a sideways glance from any staff unlike at other properties. I will say it was exceptionally low occupancy when we were there and I don’t think that’s the case anymore. However it’s definitely a more private beach - if people watching is your favorite activity, I would definitely recommend staying in Bavaro - there is SO much to see and so many more hotels in the area it just brings more people around. The Hyatt complexes have over 700 rooms between the two and I imagine occupancy has picked up quite a bit since July.
@@VoyagerGuru ok but right now Mexico looks dangerous for tourists and Mexico city have more Corona virus problems than Dominican republic I'm not from Dominican republic but my friend travel to Mexico and now every one has covid 19 virus
The Dominican Republic is a great alternative to Mexico right now due to their lower Covid numbers and precautions. The governments done a great job with the tourism industry
We have heard that hurricane season is the worst so September-November. Spring is supposed to be the best, but honestly it depends on the weather of the season as it changes every year. I’d say stay in cap Cana to avoid most of it all year.
Hi there! Thanks for your comment. So the swim barrier won’t let you go out as far as the reef unfortunately. The best snorkeling in the area is going to be on the la romana side - there are a few tours that go out to isla Catalina and the surrounding area that have great snorkeling stops along the way- you can book it directly at the Hyatt and they will pick you up there :) I hope that helpsb
Thanks so much for that feedback- that's really good to know! The hotel does look incredibly stylish but I wasn't sure about the food or service since we haven't been to secrets yet- We will have to go see for ourselves at some point but good to know we should keep our expectations low compared to hyatt!!
Thanks for your comment! For all inclusive? DEFINITELY Hyatt Zilara/Ziva. The service, amenities and the beach are just truly phenomenal. We are headed down to Punta Cana next weekend so stay tuned for our next reviews - but until now, 100% can't recommend the Hyatt properties enough. Let us know if you need any help :)
Great video guys! I was there in December/January of 2019/2020 and I'll be back this coming December/January once again. After being there the first time, I would say that your review is highly accurate and well done! Keep up the great work :)
Thank you so much for your comment!! We really appreciate it and are glad you agree! It’s always great to hear that our experience is the same for others - let us know how your return trip is!!!
We went there in early Feb 2021 and they did require guests to wear masks anywhere except the beach and in the pools. Security guards handed out masks to any guests that didn't have one.
That is GREAT news, Chris! Thanks for letting us know!! I'm glad they have added this extra level of COVID safety. Did you enjoy the experience overall?
@@VoyagerGuru it was the best resort we've ever been to/// We will go back! We loved everything except the entertainment.. That could be improved upon.
@@Chris-wp3ew amazing to hear that!! I can’t wait to go back too. Haha I felt the same about the entertainment - I was hoping it was just because there were no guests on property but hopefully it’ll improve after covid :)
wonderful video ! thanks a lot ! i little sad that your opinion is real, but you had a "not so cheap offer" to enjoy. Not every one can go from classic room to master suite price :-( but thanks any way ! :-)
Hey Remy! Thanks for your comment. Very true! One thing to note here is that everyone who arrived on opening day did get a major upgrade since there were only 10 people are the resort 🤣. Also, we always make sure to disclose when we were upgraded or on a media stay but always try to do our best to provide the honest truth. In the case of Hyatt, we visited a number of room types and they’re all very similar - the only differences are the sizes of course. We really did love the resort and hopefully you do too :). Let us know if you have any questions!
Hey Daniel! Thanks for your comment! Well, they are quite different so it kind of depends what you are looking for in your vacation. If you give me some guidance I can recommend one over the other - are you looking for more of a "lie on the beach and swim in the ocean" or pool days kind of trip? Are you a foodie - if so what is your preferred type of food? Are you looking for a club level experience or booking a standard room? swim-up suite? Let me know and I can provide what I think would be best for for you :)
Hey Daniel! In that case, I’d 100% say zilara. Club level is excellent - the two additional breakfast and lunch restaurants that are for club level only are so good. Also the butlers were kind, helpful and very responsive. You feel very catered to. Sanctuary doesn’t really have a club level. Also, the food at Hyatt was exceptional and DEFINITELY foodie worthy. Also their wine that was included was way better :). So our advice is go with zilara :). Let us know what other questions you have!
Made it to the end ! Good stuff/info :)
Thank you so much for watching!

Hi thanks for sharing. Just a quick question, when you arrive do you need to quarantine for two weeks ?
The way she's looking at him LOL
Haha 😍
Hello thank you for very good information about this hotel, I have a question there’s any extra money should be pay extra?? Like gazebo , place on the beach??? And if there’s like a preference club for adults or not?? I mean if I’m going to book this resort?? Thank you!
Hi Lena,
thank you so much for your comment!
@@VoyagerGuru we definitely will 👍🏾
If coming with kids (6-7 yr old) would you choose this place or Hilton La Romana?
Hey Lorayah! Thanks for reaching out. It's tough- they both have waterparks, kids clubs and great service. They're both excellent hotels for families. The Hyatt has more food venues and more facilities and is brand new so in general, I'd say Hyatt. However, if you can get a great deal on the Hilton, it's worth going because it's a wonderful hotel. The beach is calm, gorgeous water at both and they're both very safe. Rooms are a bit bigger at Hyatt so that could be a factor for you as well - the rooms at the Hilton are very small. Let me know what other questions you have!
@@VoyagerGuru Thanks so much! Also, how does adult entertainment compare at both?
@@lorayaht.lenore6646 Anytime!! So there wasn't much when we were there because of COVID and how empty it was at both places, but I've heard from others that its usually very good. They do have family entertainment at both like blue man group style shows, dancers, live music etc. We did see a singer in the lobby of the adults side of Hilton that was fun to see. They do have entertainment every night so I think you'll enjoy either property when it comes to entertainment
Which resort would you choose between: Hyatt Zilara or Hilton La Romana? I'm torn! Thanks!
Anytime! Happy to help
Great presentation! Sooo Hyatt Zilara or Santuary? For fun, adults-only luxury.
Do they offer shuttle service to and from the airport? Or did you have to get an Uber?
I really loved your video by the way! It wasvery informative! Meand my fiance are booking pur honeymoon there next April ❤🙂
Thank you!
@@VoyagerGuru are the taxi's safe?
Awesome!! Have a great trip and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions :)
Is that the Master Suite or the Grand Master Suite? Online this looks closer to the Grand Master.
Thanks!
Hey Max! This was the master suite. The grand master is oceanfront and slightly larger - this suite was perfect for us and had a great view - highly recommend!! Let us know what other questions you have :)
@@VoyagerGuru Thanks so much!
Hi there! How’s the entertainement in that resort? Thanks!
So let us know if you have any other questions any time
Hey thanks for this excellent review. I wanted to know what is the curfew for the pool and beach.
I don't see the info about the hyatt rewards program linked. I could be overlooking it though! great video!!
Hey Lauren! Thanks for reaching out! I'm so sorry about that! We have a couple articles on our blog here that will hopefully give you more info about their awards program:

Also, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
@@VoyagerGuru awesome, thanks!!
Is the jacuzzi on the balcony big enough for 2 people ? Hard to tell sometimes with wide angle lenses and such nowadays. Thanks for all the info.
Hey! good question! It was definitely big enough for two people to fit comfortable ❤️. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Is the jacuzzi on the balcony avaible in all room?
Also, Do they offer any water sports with the all inclusive or nightly entertainment?
Hey there! They have apparently started offering paddle boards again which is fantastic. You can also pay for excursions and other motorized water sports. There is nightly entertainment such as music, shows and fun things like that in their atrium :)
Great vídeo!
Thank you so much, Ricardo!
New subscriber here 🙋🏼 great video thank you for the info!👍👍
Thank you so much!!
Did the hotel offer transportation to and from the airport?
Hey Michael! Thanks for your comment. They don’t have a complimentary shuttle, however, they can coordinate a transfer for you. I’m not sure the cost but if you call the hotel, they can tell you. Cap cana is a really easy and quick stop from the airport, so taxis are also an option that would not cost you a lot of money.
Is this all inclusive?
Hi there! Yes it is! All alcohol and food is included :). Spa is separate!
Which do you recommend Eden Roc or Hyatt Zilara?
Are those staying on the Zilara side able to go over to the Ziva side as well?
Hi Abigail! Thanks for reaching out! Yes, you can absolutely go between the hotels - they are connected by an interior walkway or the exterior walkway and beach. The only thing is that people under 18 cannot come to the Zilara, but that's the only restriction :). Let us know what other questions you have!
Awesome video, but can you tell us your thoughts about the entertainment. Is there a kids club?
Overall how would you say the nightlife/ party scene is?
Good video, im looking to do a destination wedding to cap Cana/punta Cana, do you guys have some other videos you recommend go watch?
Hey there! thanks so much for your comment- that is so exciting, congratulations!!!
@@VoyagerGuru awesome! I’m currently awaiting both of those proposals, have you guys stayed at secrets cap Cana?

Is there curfew in place in the resort due to the covid laws they got there?
Hi Jay! The resorts in the DR are not subject to curfew laws so they remain open. This is because they are self contained entities and people don’t leave the property to eat so it’s a great deal for travelers :)
Awesome video! Are the pools heated?
Hey LeeAnn! Thanks so much :) great question! to our knowledge, they are not heated - they were “refreshing”. I’m not sure if they are heated in colder months but its possible. When we visited it was about 90 degrees so the cold water was welcoming, haha
Hi love your videos! Will you be planning to review the new Hyatt Ziva Resort Expected to Debut in Riviera Cancun later this year?
Hey Alex! Thanks so much for your comment :)! Oh gosh we’d absolutely love to stay there - stay tuned - can’t wait to review the property!!
Is there airport transportation?
Hi Iris! Thanks for your comment. They do not offer a complimentary shuttle, however the taxi services are highly regulated at the airport and very reliable. If you prefer a more luxury option, I would recommend calling the hotel directly and they can arrange a transfer for an additional fee :)
Great video! Did you guys do your covid testing there? If so, what was the process like?
Hey Tiffany! Thanks so much! We live part time in the DR so we didn’t do the COVID test there. However, they do free antigen testing to return to the US and it’s REALLY easy and simple. They’ll schedule you for your test when you check in and take great care of you :). We asked a number of people who stayed there around the same time and since. Hope this helps!
Hey! Trying to plan a trip to the Dominican soon and was wondering how the night life was at this hotel?
Hi Jennifer! To be honest, we were there in July 2020 so there wasn’t much going on from a night life perspective. However they did have some shows and events at night. I believe they’d upped the nightly entertainment now that restrictions are ended and there’s a great sports bar as well. It’s a really nice property so I have no doubt they’ve increased the amount of entertainers and nightlife
Super random Max, but where’d you get that killer shirt? Your review put it over the top for us, we’re heading to Zilara next month.
Hey Donny! Thanks for your comment! Haha the shirt is actually from target!! It was a “good fellows” brands shirt. Love that one! Also - that’s awesome to hear! I hope you guys have a blast. Let us know how your experience is :)
Have you ever stayed at the hard rock in punta Cana? That one was highly recommended to us but our friends would rather check this one out instead!
The Hyatt complexes have over 700 rooms between the two and I imagine occupancy has picked up quite a bit since July.
you think you will be safe in Mexico I'm not think so with all drugs traffickers

@@VoyagerGuru ok but right now Mexico looks dangerous for tourists and Mexico city have more Corona virus problems than Dominican republic I'm not from Dominican republic but my friend travel to Mexico and now every one has covid 19 virus

I appreciate your honesty on your views. Is the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana all inclusive?
Hey there! Thanks so much for your comment - yes, it’s all inclusive and it’s fantastic!
which months are worst for seaweed ?
We have heard that hurricane season is the worst so September-November. Spring is supposed to be the best, but honestly it depends on the weather of the season as it changes every year. I’d say stay in cap Cana to avoid most of it all year.
Hi there, how snorkeling around there??
Hey there! What time of year was your visit?
Max, love the shirt! Where is it from?
haha, thank you so much! It's from Target! Their Goodfellows brand :)
I just got back from Secrets CapCana style was like a 10. I loved the resort but didn't care for the food. Sounds like this is a winner overall.
Thanks so much for that feedback- that's really good to know! The hotel does look incredibly stylish but I wasn't sure about the food or service since we haven't been to secrets yet- We will have to go see for ourselves at some point but good to know we should keep our expectations low compared to hyatt!!

ZILARA OR SANCTUARY IM IN BETWEEN both ! Please help lol😅😅😁😁😁
I'm looking for club level treatment and a great room and overall experience and I am a foodie Lol
Great thank you very helpful 👍👍😁😁
