There are countless Tesla boosters on RUclips and half just recycle old information, while the other half just do current updates. This is different! This is real solid information that is not being covered. Subscribed!
Tesla also works with suppliers down to the 2nd and 3rd level to optimize the process including optimizing supplier provided products. ... Great points.
Idra being a great example, Tesla worked with them to design the press Tesla needed, designed for Tesla's aluminium alloys, etc.
That's why it's funny hearing legacy autos saying they'll just buy an Idra machine and "catch up" with Tesla.
Another company that does this is the GPU company Nvidia, they work with chip maker TSMC to help them make better nodes, and sometimes exclusive nodes E.G. 12nm

This was an inspiring video that highlights the incredible advantage Tesla has in its AI processes. Great job as always, Lars!
If you take a Tesla product that just came off the line today, tore it apart and analysed every part, material and process that went into it, then started designing a new production line the moment that report came back, your car company would still be 5 years behind what Tesla would be doing by the time your factory started to ramp.
To even begin to gain ground on Tesla, you need to figure out a way to make R&D cost almost nothing. Good luck with that.

I'm an investor and now tesla driver I firmly believe tesla can give model 3 a hud or like model s in an affordable way and gain more drivers especially older drivers who already struggles with transition to new electronics.

Great vid, Lars. I've watched the Joe Justice vids and I wonder how the mobAI approach with interfacing teams working within 3 metres of each other works with components made by tier 1 and 2 suppliers. They must be so closely linked to those suppliers. I can see why the Tesla engineers go to the suppliers and help them set up their manufacturing lines (and, I guess, change those lines regularly).

Last year Tesla made $15.5 billion profit and had less than 160,000 employees so profit per employee was very close to $100,000 per employee not $5,000.

@@Gunter_Custom So you don’t think Tesla has 160,000 employees or you don’t think Tesla made $15.5 billion in 2023? 100,000 times 160,000 is 16 billion and I think Tesla profit was adjusted up by about 500 million so they had a profit of about $16 billion. Revenue per employee was about $625,000 per employee. Revenue for BMW was about $1,000,000 per employee.

but many of his employees are making 100k on avg salary. To make 100k profit after paying them of course is not a lot of profit for a company .. I used to make my companies at least a million in profits as a salesperson vs my six figure salary.

Just imagine how quick travel will become when the number of self driving/autonomous cars outstrips ICE vehicles. Less total cars will be needed because car sharing will be huge and all teh cars will talk to each other so there will be almost zero accidents which in turn will lead to higher safe speeds.

I have a question. Tesla uses Exone 3D sandcore printing. What do they do exactly with that? You doesn´t need it for a casting part like this.

They won't on ICE. On EVs it's down to the parts manufacturers, I think it will be a profit killer for legacy as suppliers will want a premium. NB Just my opinion, I'm not an expert on legacy supply chains.
