I told them that I'd only work with them if I could only use the browser-based store and they were totally fine with that. I also disclose this. I like it because I have more control this way. However, I will not stop you from living however you like. I know some people put all the apps on their phones. I don't have any major store/shopping apps on mine... basically you do you.
I base all of my purchasing decisions on what i can quickly insert inside me, just in case of a raid.
I don't necessarily buy electronics from Temu (I'm picky about brands and most importantly safety) but honestly for the price the quality is actually surprisingly good. I love their large mousepads for like $5, just as good as any Corsair or name brand one I've spent way more on.

Validate? If you see Windows logo at boot and it runs *.exe files and you get notifications of the updates.. you are good to go.
I have whetstones, but even watching videos knife sharpening is hard. I spent like 10 minutes working on my cheap knife I won in a giveaway, as I was afraid I'd mess up my expensive knives, and I'm not sure I did any good.
Amazon or Temu , it's all from China anyway (unless it says made in Japan) (or somewhere else)
Thanks for this vid I always wonder about USB hubs! With the knife sharpening stone you gotta apply a lot more pressure than you are in the video (I know you said you don't know what you are doing yet) but just thought I would let ya know! Takes a lot more strength than it looks!
You get what you pay for. Everything from temu sucks or break sin a week or 2.
I'm not recommending the cheapest stuff. Generally pay a little more to get the stuff that will last longer. All this stuff is still working
I have done that few times when i have bought cheapest available without looking reviews. Example magsafe charger mount 4€ broke in a week, did little bit research and got one for 18€. Local store had it but couldn't justify paying 30€ for same product just to get it 3days faster. Temu has just as much bad products as amazon, aliexpress etc

(edit) let me clarify something here: Temu (and in a similar way, Shein) are currently hurting the South African economy with their business practices. they're a foreign business selling products within SA, but without employing anybody locally to do so..
this means when anybody buys products from them, that money is permanently leaving the country, not just changing hands to another citizen.
to make it worse, they're undercutting local business, selling products way cheaper than we can make them locally. their business model is quite literally "get rich at the expense of others"... now what makes you think that they will ONLY do that to SA? hmm...
so, no.. I will not support their business.

@@teksyndicate nope, not for a long time.. most sellers on Amazon don't ship to South Africa (for good reason, our postal service is severely broken). Amazon are trying to get their online shopping side into the SA market a bit more these days, but it's not going very well so far..
for context, last time I checked, Amazon don't even sell their own Kindle products direct to SA.... our best options are "gray imports" through places like Takealot. otherwise it's almost half my monthly salary for one bloody "no ads e-book reader".

There's no difference between shilling for Amazon and shilling, Temu; however, you are here shilling for Temu and that is equally as bad. I know that this channel isn't generating the income you were accustomed to, but surely the path back to the glory days of this channel is generating interesting tech content and places? What we have now is shilling Temu products, of which any are not vetted through the appropriate safety checks, and shooting a vlog of your office (though I appreciate the Lego and PC big boxsets, especially the Morrowind's) in 30FPS for the thousandth time. I stay subscribed and watch occasionally because I want you to do well, but you're not helping yourself.

What's wrong with Temu for these products, honest/ignorant question? They all come from the same factories and eliminating a layer of middle men sounds like it should be good. Most products last fine for me, or fail fast and returns are easy. Clothing might be a different story re: sweat shops?
