I often notice that comments are just opinions, judgments, assumptions and distorted thoughts/thinking. And those alone are not facts.

Take it from a Gen Z person, almost all Gen Z people that I know are Democrats or leftwards, many of them support universal healthcare, many want a $15 minimum wage, almost all believe in climate change, etc. They’re the ones who founded the Sunrise Movement and led the resurgence of the Climate Activism movement and SchoolStrike4Climate, they were incredibly active in Black Lives Matter and the George Floyd protests, they’re the generation that is pushing most for the acceptance of non-binary people and other underrepresented LGBTQ+ groups, and they’re the generation that has most embraced the Green New Deal and similar ideas. I know that obviously this is not the case everywhere and I live in a pretty affluent, progressive, liberal state, but even in more conservative places the youth are often significantly more progressive than their parents.
I LOVE this girl. This gives my 60yo heart such hope for the future of humankind. BRAVA!!!

In his 39 years, MLK did a many of great things, now just imagine what his granddaughter can do! She is destined for greatness just like her grandfather!!

@@mplussant except if you watched the video, her parents say did not force her to do any of this. She chose this path because she wants to fight to make others’ lives better. Even if she didn’t participate in social justice, there would always be a spotlight on her simply for being MLK’s granddaughter. She just chose to use that spotlight for good. It’s not “child abuse” unless her parents force her or unless they let the paparazzi and haters surround her, and it seems that they are doing neither. She is a very mature and well-spoken 13 year old, and I’m sure she’s more than capable of preparing for and handling the adversity coming her way.

She is awesome. I had the blessing of meeting her aunt Yolanda back in the 1980s when I was a student activist. The younger Yolanda gave me goose bumps when she spoke at that rally a few years ago.

Ah yes, child activists! They're "stunning and brave and the future" when they read a speech someone else probably wrote, but ask them a question they can't answer or challenge something they said and you're "picking on a kid".
That doesn’t mean the beliefs and dreams and convictions of children don’t matter. Plus her parents literally stayed they didn’t want to force her to be in social justice. Since she is thirteen now (and mature and well-spoken to boot), she is definitely able to think for herself and answer tough questions. Adults seriously need to stop underestimating kids.
