I used Miss Jessie's one time back in the day I paid $23 for that mess and it had me looking like Frederick Douglas part and all 😂😂😂😂. I haven't used it since. Maybe I should try some of the newer stuff.
The Salon closed down?😢 Does she still own the company. So many black owned hair products companies are being brought by white companies like Shea Moisture & Carol's Daughter and they change the ingredients
“Use one tablespoon”????🧐🤔 who do they think finna use they kitchen utensils to measure hair products? Chile when you ran that comb through that first section.... curls POPPIN
I finally commented on the young lady that met you at the chase bank in Conyers!! Sorry it took long to comment but grl I'm here!! Love your energy just like I did when I met you! Stay blessed
I was a faithful user of Ms. Jessie’s around 2010-2012. It’s a great line can’t lie but I got tired of paying 30, 40, 50 even 60 dollars for one product. Natural hair products are generally high for no reason and the bottles are small. It’s ridiculous. Just the other day I saw some edge control for 16.00..... why Sway?? You’re hair came out gorgeous❤️
Yes I was just tellin my husband that it’s not enough. That’s y I’m not sure if this a product I want to get. Probably as my wen I go out on dates or special occasion
Ok so upon doing my hair I did my leave in and let it sit and marinate like you said and omg...bigggg huggeee difference...my hair was more than ready for my twisting products...my twist out itself even looked great and was cooperating
Yes!!!!Yes!!!! You are so right. Doing that has made a huge difference. I put on my shampoo, deep conditioner, and leave in while in the shower. And always use a cap and sit under the dryer every time. And I have been using a ginger and coconut treatment. Love and Light.♥️♥️
I have very coarse very thick strands and out of this world density. Miss Jessie’s is one of the only product lines that works for my 4b hair. The only reason I don’t use Miss Jessie’s is because the price tag but I love the whole line
Faye In The City Walmart prices are slightly cheaper and the jelly soft curls is better than the pillow soft imo!!! On my hair the pillow soft flakes and the curls aren’t as defined and jelly soft is the complete opposite, but like again thats my opinion based off of my hair...😘
Miss Jessie’s product line is the truth. I need a sale hunni(discounts). Now that I cut my locs I’m going back to Miss Jessie’s. I need my curls to pop pop pop like that. For some context, I have 3c, 4a, 4b low porosity hair. Miss Jessie’s used to be a lot more that prices have come down.
I am a huge fan!! I've been using Miss Jessie for about 15 years. Can't believe I used to pay $58 for 16oz. plus $10 for shipping 😣- this was before they started selling in stores. They started having BOGO Free sales, that softened the blow a little. I wish they'd start back. To be honest, the Curly Pudding and Meringue made my hair flake even without using gel. The only styler I continue to use is the Curly Buttercreme. It is amazing!! Your hair will grow like weeds. It adds so much moisture that I don't have to moisturize between washes. I'm not sure if it can be used for a wash and go because I only use for twistouts. The smell is really strong. I don't mind it, but my mother hates it. The Baby Buttercreme has a milder smell, but works the same. If you don't mind twisting and want your hair to grow quickly, Curly Buttercreme is the answer. I love the Super Sweetback Treatment as well. The Rapid Recovery Treatment is also amazing. It seems like as soon as you put it in your hair, you can finger right through.
Although it’s a bit pricey, I LOVE Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls! My hair was super soft and very defined. After watching this I’ll have to try the other products. 😊 (I have 4a/4b hair low porosity)
Omg!!! I bought the coils custard this past Saturday andddddd hunty!!!!! My coils and curls are poppin!!!! I wish we could insert pics! Plus it’s soft even after applied my olive oil eco (we don’t have wetline here )! I will be using their line from now on!!!
I got all types of negative feed back from others before I tried it and was presently surprised. So far they are the only natural line my hair agrees with because I have extreme allergies. Their Coil custard is sticky but if I want tightly defined coils it works beautifully on my hair. They also have Jelly soft and Pillow soft gel. I use either or for wash and go’s and just lift for volume. I am glad they dropped their prices.
Back in the day the Miss Jessie's Creme De La Curl Cleansing Creme was the best shampoo. Till this day I feel it's the best shampoo I've ever used. I would use it and it literally defined my hair like the best curly pudding ever. I don't know why they've ever discontinue it and it lasted a long time.
Listen that sweet back treatment had me with near waist length hair!!! I love that product. I think there are less pricey leave in and curl cream options but for a deep conditioner- sweet back is worth every bit of that hella pricey tag.
I'm a 4B and recently switced back to Miss Jessie's. I used them when I first went natural. Since I live abroad it is very difficult for me to get their products. I finally had to bite the bullet and go through 3rd party shipping just to get it. Their shampo and conditioners have always worked the best on my hair.
You should try the Ms Jessies gel. Gives crazy shine and great definition. At this point I only use Ms Jessies. It works great for my type 4 hair. I use the deep conditioner, leave in, curly pudding, and coily custard (gel).
Miss Jessie's used to be for mixed chicks back in the day...I've been natural since 2006 and it used to be only sold in salons and it was super expensive!! One product was $32!! It didn't work for my hair and I ended up giving it away to a co-worker who has like a 3a hair texture and she loved it. I haven't finished watching the video but I don't think you're gonna like it...
I just tried them this week ! Never heard of them before . Smh idk why but my hair is in LOOVEe with their products . . All their products are made with Gylcerin which 4C Hair loves ! Instant Softness and hydration. No more dullness. I'm so happy . I hated Mielle, my hair didn't agree.
Baaaaybae!!! This was my go to back in the day for my wash & go. The leave in conditioner and pillow soft curls!!! Only those 2 products! Maaaan! Da truth!
I have been using Miss Jessie's since 2010. I love, love, LOVE the Super Sweetback treatment!!! You should try the Curly Pudding (Purple stuff)...it works much better on tighter coils (I have the same: 3c in back, 4a on sides and 4b in top/crown). Pillow Soft Curls works well too, but it doesn't have a really strong hold, imo. Your hair came out great!
I snuck off to watch this video and then I realized I was working from home so who's gonna know. Old habits die hard. Your hair is looking mighty gorgeous. Also Samantha got minimal airtime in this video...just saying...
I have several of Ms. Jessie's products and Curly Meringue is my favorite, BUT it is definitely not enough for my super thick, 4b 4c hair. I get flakes with Miss Jessie's products. I will try it with wetline and see how that works. They are some of the best smelling products, so I hope it works with the gel.
GURL! Your lights are on; but, AIN'T NOBODY AT THE HOUSE!!! I swear you and Samantha be having me on the floor!!! Queen, stay BLESSED, stay healthy, stay safe...AND PLEASE STAY CRAZY!!! WE NEED YOU!
Ok now....I used to use The Curly pudding on both my hair and my daughter's when I did my big chop years ago. It smelled amazing and our hair looked great (however it came with flakes). I slowly moved away from it to try new more cost effective products and to get rid of the flaking. Sadly....I forgot about them😳. As I watched your review- I decided to go back and give them another try. Your hair looks great! And I'm loving the ombre color look you have from the top to the bottom.....gorgeous!! Great review💞
I got some flaking too! And I assumed it was from the creme not mixing with the gel but you’re the second person to say they’ve gotten flakes too. Yeahhhh I might not use this often. And thank you!
Good morning from Alabama!! Great review. Their prices are high, like anything else we want we still buy it. Next time I'm in the store, I might try some of their products. Thank you sis!! Hey Samantha 👋
Just to let you know. You have the most positive and infectious spirit that makes me proud to be a natural. I love your videos especially since you did the big chop since we have very similar hair textures. Looking forward to more suggestions
glad you tried Miss Jessie's. They're products just do something to curls that cannot be compared to the other brands. I am type 4 and I love them. I've had some issues with customer service but their products are great. I've never used the items you have. I would like to try the treatment. I was interested in the leave in but I apply my leave ins to soaked hair. I love Pillow Soft and Jelly Curls. Honey Curls is a little drying but very defining and has great hold. Coily Custard is cute and long lasting without being dry. Curly Pudding makes my wearable twists look so good and juicy. Baby Buttercreme, on the other hand, stinks and is pretty greasy, I'll play around with it more next quarantine wash day lol
This stuff had me looking like a flaky head axx Rev Al Sharpton.... That’s been over 5 years ago. I threw it in the back of the trash truck on trash day. Pissed me TF off.
I always run across Mrs Jessies and I just 👀 and keep moving...you paying for the container the lid errthang..lol No but I'm always hesitant to buy products on high end when I don't know much about!....Love my keracare naturals line and mizani..your hair looks cute!!!
Yes!!! I used the jelly soft curls in the pink and white bottle and my curls pop instantly! I just randomly tried it a year ago and been hooked since. It’s definitely not cheap and for my I’m getting extra cute days 😂
The leave in condish has been my go to for years! I had stopped using it cause I felt like they changed something and the smell was different but it always made my hair feel super soft! Anyone that told you it wasn’t for type 4 hair was lyinnnnn lol been using it on my thick hair for years! They also have a smaller cheaper bottle of the leave in condish
Thank you because that's exactly why I haven't used it. On and off again relationship with natural hair too, just chopped it all of and I'm only 2 months natural so I'm gonna try it for small curl styles. Thanks again!
I’m just figuring things out with the use of gel. This technique is interesting. I’ve never used Ms Jessie’s either as I’m 3c and 4a also. It turned out really good!
I have wanted to try Ms. Jessie. Thanks for your review. I tend to use Shea Moisture but I have been wanting to try new products. Your review was right on time
Your hair always looks great! I’m glad to see you gave their products a try! I’ve been using Miss Jessie’s products for about 15 years, the prices today are nothing compared to back in the day! Everything came in jars and the cheapest item was $36! The rapid recovery treatment is my favorite deep conditioner of all time!!! It used to be $52!!! They used to do a BOGO deal every year at Christmas time and that’s when I would rack up on all my products! Also, if you have a CVS near you, sign up for the rewards card and use the 40% off coupon they send every week! That’s my hack to get them cheaper! As I type this, they’re 25% off at CVS, and you can stack your 40% coupon on top of that!
Girl yesssss back in the day, Miss Jessie’s was OUT OF CONTROL! I remember the buttercream being something STOOPID like $68?! And yes that Sweetback was $52 and like you I would wait until Christmas for the BOGO 😂 but honestly I hadn’t used Miss Jessie’s in years and it was honestly the most consistent when it came to having soft, moisturized and GROWING hair (that Sweetback is straight sorcery). I loved the cowash and the creme de la curl as well. Thank goodness that chilled on the prices lol maybe I should revisit
you hair is the business. great results 😊👍😊 thanks so much for the great demo and review. i tried one Miss Jessie's product and *ated it - it was horrible and scared me away from trying any other MJ items. maybe one day I'll try something *else*.
Faye In The City ....I haven’t, but if I remember correctly, I didn’t use a leave in either. It didn’t need one. I think it was a heavy glycerin product, so you can’t be to heavy handed because it could get sticky. My mother still uses it as a one and done product. The only reason I don’t use it is because for some reason it made my scalp itch a tiny bit, but my hair looked amazing. I haven’t heard anyone else have that issue. I’m mostly 4b, 4c in crown, 4a very front and at very bottom back. The product cost about $13 with the same type packaging you used in this vid. (Note: it’s called Coily Custard)
I used Miss Jessie's 2008 - 2010 ish. I was a new natural trying to find my way. The products are thick and quality. I noticed flakes but that could have been I wasn't using it correctly. It was very expensive. I only bought it when they had Bogo. I stopped using it because I eventually found products that worked just as good or better for smaller price.
When I first went natural in the early 2000's Ms. Jessie's was the first product I used. Loved it! The whole line is good! Keeps hair moisturized and curls popping! I never had to use any other product with it because I was happy with how it turned out. I stopped using it because it is pretty pricey! I'm glad you did do a review on it! Looks good on ya!
I have 2 sample packs from miss Jessie that I haven’t used yet. Recording my first wash n sit my butt home today 😬😬 imma be all over your videos to get this thang done 🤦🏾♀️🤣😂
Ohh that looks good!! 😂😂😂 That was my SAME reaction when I used Miss Jessie’s! And the same thoughts I had using the products on my 4C curls! I lovvvvvve my Honey curls and Coily custard! Bomb!
I haven't tried these products as of yet. Your hair is beautiful. ♥️😍 I believe that's why I have not touched it as well. Because of looking the people's hair who designed it. Thank you for the review. Love and Light.♥️♥️
Hello, YOU ARE SOOOOOOO AMAZING! Your personality is appreciated especially in times like these. God Bless and keep using your talents to bless others....ummm by the way where do I find that brush you were using?
I am subscribing due to the whew chile thumbnail, and using Ms. Jessie's for the first time as well. Making sure I am not the only one having the same reaction.
I have 4C hair and have been natural for 5 years. I haven't found any products that give my hair definition. I have tried some Ms. Jessie's in the past and wasn't impressed. I'll keep trying to locate something that works for me.
I always liked Miss Jessie’s products. The only issue I had was it made my hair crunchy. Some curly girls don’t mind that, I can’t stand it. They have great products though!
@@FayeInTheCity Ahhhh, I can't believe you responded. You made my day. I love your content and energy. Stay wonderfully you. Oh and tell Samantha I said, "Hey girl!".
im happy i came across your video. this was the most recent video i could find on this product. i love the way you showed what you did. and you made me want to go natural. you just got a new subscriber 🥰

Lol!
Yes girl lol mine looked great the 1st day but by the next day my hair would be dried out like the Sahara!!
I tried it over 10 years ago and end up giving it away. It sat on top of my hair and flaked once it dried.
The founders are Black and Japanese. However she use to do my 4c hair when she 1st opened Curve Salon which is no longer.

Ha ha! I'd probably get a special (plastic) spoon for the purpose!
I've been natural since 1998 and never tried this brand either 😂😂😂 as a college student I felt their prices were way too high back then
Lol! They’re still high to me! I like them but they’re high! 😂
They just recently dropped their prices too. I paid 20.00 for the sweet back treatment in 2018 lol
Please, they are high for anybody.
It’s still to high. $32 for creme for my child is just crazy!

For some context, I have 3c, 4a, 4b low porosity hair.
Miss Jessie’s used to be a lot more that prices have come down.
Oh wow!!!! I thought it was expensive but honestly, it’s cheaper than my Mane Choice products so I’m not mad lol
I hate that they stopped doing the BOGO free sale at the end of the year. I used to stock up.

Wow. I’m impressed. I like it. The price point is out of my range but like you I was biased because I thought it was for mixed chicks.
That’s exactlyyyy what I thought! I just didn’t wanna phrase it that way in the video because I didn’t wanna offend anyone lol
Thank you for telling us about using the leave in and adding the plastic cap after. Game changer 🙌🏿🤎🙌🏿

I love miss Jessies products especially the sweet back treatment deep conditioner.
The pillow soft gel, feather soft cream, and sweet back work well in my hair. Worth the price tag

Anyone that told you it wasn’t for type 4 hair was lyinnnnn lol been using it on my thick hair for years! They also have a smaller cheaper bottle of the leave in condish
I lovedddd that leave in!
I like Miss Jessie's products not happy about the silicone but it's good when you are in a rush 💁🏾♀️
I watched one video now I wanna binge watch like a Netflix show. I love your vibe
Oh, I forgot to say you're beautiful!
I’m hooked too! I found her about a week ago and I’m happy that she and SAMANTHA are in my life! Yasssss!!!
Your review was right on time
Heyyyy! If you do try it, tell me how it works for you!
@@FayeInTheCity ......I sure will.
Thank you for being so down to earth
Ms jessie and cantu line are the best line ive ever used for my hair.
I saw Miss Jessie’s in CVS today. Pricey but I still want to try the line! 👍🏾
you hair is the business. great results 😊👍😊
thanks so much for the great demo and review.
i tried one Miss Jessie's product and *ated it - it was horrible and scared me away from trying any other MJ items.
maybe one day I'll try something *else*.
lol understandable! One bad experience with a Cantu leave in was enough to make me hate the brand lol
as I sit here as a mixed girl (Egyptian and Chinese) with my 2b/2c waves, I highly enjoy ur content and yo vibes is out the DOOR mama. SUBSCRIBED
Thank you!
Same! I have 2b/c hair and I just love Miss Faye!
Your hair is really growing👍🏾
I’m so excited to see it!
her gels are amazing...they come in a tube like that and the hold is bomb..i use to use it on my daughters hair when she was younger
I can’t wait to try it one day
I love this line one of my favorite lines but I haven't used everything
You can use the MJ Coily Custard by itself (no other gel needed on top) with 4b hair. Trust me❣️
Will do. Have you gotten flakes from it?
I love miss jessie stuff. I cannot use regular gel. I use her coily creme and pillow soft jelly
Thank you!
Yeah i recently bought pillowsoft curls, I never bought it bc it was expensive no. 1 and i thought it was for looser curls too... I'm about to shop
Try the Multi Cultural gel and creme those 2 together worked perfectly on my type 4 hair
Ok! So far I keep hearing about pillow soft curls but I’m down to try this one too!
Faye I followed your lead and finally cut my hair! Your videos been helping me so much

Faye In The City thank you for the support 🧡❤️💙
Ohh that looks good!! 😂😂😂
That was my SAME reaction when I used Miss Jessie’s! And the same thoughts I had using the products on my 4C curls! I lovvvvvve my Honey curls and Coily custard! Bomb!
Yes, she is giving out important information. But chilllle, I need check out all you all comments. It keeps the Corona virus out of my mind.
Morning, Love! I've always wanted to try Miss Jessie's, especially PIllow Soft Curls, but that price point make a sistah think a few times lol
I totally understand!
Pillow soft curls smells like fabric softener!
@@ileanasantamaria2364 and I HATED it! They sell trial packs now so I tried it.
I love to see you try her Curl Boss gel I was pleasantly surprised by it
I am subscribing due to the whew chile thumbnail, and using Ms.
Thank you so much for your reviews on these products. I have wanted to try but was also apprehensive about it.
Your hair turned out really pretty!
Thank you!
Miss Jessie’s jelly soft curls is the best gel, everrrrr
I keep hearing that!
I always liked Miss Jessie’s products. The only issue I had was it made my hair crunchy. Some curly girls don’t mind that, I can’t stand it. They have great products though!
I think your hair does look cute like that!
Try Jelly Soft Curls and you can skip the Wetline. A summertime winner!!!
Faye you're such a beautiful person inside and out. You're my cousin in my head, lol.
Heyyyyy, cousin!
@@FayeInTheCity Ahhhh, I can't believe you responded. You made my day. I love your content and energy. Stay wonderfully you. Oh and tell Samantha I said, "Hey girl!".
I started with Miss Jessie's but after I found much more affordable products that worked just as well...I never looked back.
im happy i came across your video. this was the most recent video i could find on this product. i love the way you showed what you did. and you made me want to go natural. you just got a new subscriber 🥰
Thank you!
You are giving me Sherri Shepherd. The curls look so natural.
I get that a lot lol
Yesss. I have to try the meringue. I tried the coily gel which is good
Try the curl cream...
In the purple jar
What would be your best recommended natural hair products for 4c hair?!
I use the leave in condish and love the product. I want to try the honey curl
ooh girl you should search the sisters of this brand story. soooo sad!
I did! It’s so terrible. I didn’t want to be Debbie Downer so I just did angel emojis around her name
