It was reported that an intoxicated male was outside the residence causing a disturbance and trying to break into the home. Prior to law enforcement arrival it was reported that the male, identified as Lawrence Drennan, age 35 of Spring Green, WI had left the scene driving a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. A responding deputy located the Outlander parked on an adjacent road unoccupied. The deputy then approached the residence on foot where he located Drennan back outside the residence. The deputy detained Drennan and conducted an investigation into the incident. As a result of the investigation, Drennan was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd offense, Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Criminal Damage to Property. Drennan was transported to the Sauk County Jail where he was transferred to the custody of jail staff without incident. Chip Meister Sauk County Sheriff
Some people cannot figure out life. They can't manage to navigate all the little formal steps and rules and interaction subtleties and forms that need to be filled out. And it all piles up until everything falls apart, for most of them over and over again. It's sad to witness. Seems like one of those dudes.
- doesn't want to stop committing crimes - doesn't want to go back to jail You can't have both.. (..unless you're a politician or a very influential person...)
In October 2023, Drennan was charged with such felonies as OWI Causing Injury, OWI Hit & Run, multiple counts of threats or battery to police offer, and threat or bodily harm to health care worker. This was in Iowa County, in the SW corner of Wisconsin. But in typical Wisconsin tradition, despite no having no ties to the community and multiple felonies pending, the judge had let him go with a signature bond.
Pennsylvania here, I did 1 full year in jail for 1.2 grams of weed & a pack of rolling papers. It was actually the rolling papers that did it for me. Had I been caught with just one or the other I’d of been fine. If I just had the weed then the max is 30 days. If I only had papers that would be no charge at all. But having them both together that turned the rolling papers imto “paraphernalia”. 1 year. That was in 2001.
It is horrible. They are trained for so many other things and sometimes rank and file want them to do negotiation techniques or hostage negotiation - not in their wheelhouse. There are officers far better trained and with a decent sized force - even on night shift - the Lt. or Force Commander should be making the callback to a suspect!
Police operators are often given a hard time but their job is incredibly hard. Dealing with people on the worst day of their life, having to follow protocols and ask questions that are stupid, dealing with management that make the job harder than it should be, and worrying about the officers sent to deal with these jobs.
A drunk driver that forgot to turn his headlights on thought he could bully and convince Police to leave him alone by threatening to shoot them with a non-existent gun and was willing to forfeit his life over a misdemeanor and infraction crime!

On Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 the Sauk County Sheriff's Office received a report of a disturbance taking place at an address on North Baltimore Street in the village of Spring Green.

Some people cannot figure out life. They can't manage to navigate all the little formal steps and rules and interaction subtleties and forms that need to be filled out. Well, he did accomplished what he stated in the phone call: he never went back to prison
SO being in wisconsin the not wanting to go to jail thing was total BS. He was just done with life.
so basically typical blue behavior and results.

Depends on what the goal is.
I feel so bad for that 911 operator. That must’ve been a horrible experience.
I need you to not do that.
