    Lived on Martinique back in the 1980's, and loved it. That "bathtub" area you mentioned is named after Empress Josephine (wife of Napoleon) who was born here.

    How do you manage your budget around this Caribbean island I back then use to live in Antigua and Barbuda and is very expenses , , the far I being was curaçao maybe pass true Saint Lucia and Barbados 🇧🇧

      @IslandHopperTV Sorry, it's one pet peeve of mine. I used to work at a distillery for a couple of years. I love your videos working my way through the caribbean right now. Since the wife works for Hilton, I can get a good rate at any Hilton property.

      I came from Martinique and you can have Dengue only if you get bitten by tiger mosquitoes.

      @@berkhasan07 There is “epidemic season” for dengue. I had dengue only one time in my life. So it’s not that surprising you survive!

    It’s a paradise. But there is a big problem. Dengue Fever is endemic .

    Haiti was the first country to "free itself" from France, Martinique is still a French possession but watch only this documentary about Martinique and Haiti, it is better not to show anything because of its disturbing images.

      They do speak English as the island is an Overseas Department of France 🇫🇷 and its inhabitants are French citizens.

      Some did a little. We used Google translator. Everyone was very nice. The GPS in the car gave us issues until we changed the language

      Yes and no. They are different as there are some West Indian Islands that are not bordered by the Caribbean Sea like Barbados. However the islands you mentioned like Puerto Rico are both Caribbean and West Indian. And those of us from the islands don’t even make that distinction. We use the terms interchangeably.
