Great review. This is one I was waiting for. Loving the addition of the ⭐ rating system at the end also - nice touch! I have the Honor magic 5 Pro and very happy with it overall.
Looks like Honor have just released another camera update! Would be great to get a mini video on this. The photos look even clearer to me with greens less saturated, but you're the expert so be good to get your thoughts also. Side note I think they have fixed the 120hz RUclips stuttering bug!!
Nice comparison again. Not a big gap between the top flagships from all the major Chinese brands this year in terms of cameras. They are all quite closely matched as seen here and in your other comparisons. Based on price in Europe I think the Honor magic 5 pro is a much better deal. Xiaomi flagships are priced too high in Europe for the last couple of years

I feel like back cam recording of Xioami was too saturated, graphics seems higher but over saturation on face with sunlight wasn't good. In recording zoom magic 5 was over sharpened which I would put below Xioamis zoom.
-front facing recording pretty obviously better on magic 5
-rear cam photos, Im quite surprised to say that, Magic 5 pro performs better in most shots.
- zoom shots at 5x magic 5 has oversgarpened but I would take it, it's very close but yea colors are better on magic 5.
- at 10x zoom Xioami keeps it natural, magic has done aggressive sharpening and I believe with zooms higher Xioami will be better.
-Macro is sharper and better on Magic 5 pro.
-front facing camera I like the bokeh on magic 5, picture is pretty even tho.
And nowadays the Magic is half the price...

On most shots both phones looks very similar - but on most shots when you pixel peep Xiaomi 13 Ultra is soo much better and natural, but Honor Magic 5 Pro try with computing 'magic', but it's just not the same. I hate oil paintings and Xiaomi has rly a lot more detailes. Except macro rly seems better on Magic 5 - but on Xiaomi 13 Pro (not Ultra) is probably even better. I'd love to have Xiaomi 13 Ultra, but with macro from Xiaomi 13 Pro! :)

I have the S23U, the Magic 5 Pro and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra: the 13 U almost tie with the magic 5 Pro ( a little bit better the xiaomi), but, both clearly win to S23U ( with exceptions: zoom range and 4K UHD videos better for the S23U and very more polished UI). @@lltechview That's lame tbh, I have the same version as well, It's been two months already.. Idk what's taking them so long, there's a stutter bug on RUclips that makes me don't wanna use the phone, the refresh rate randomly drops down to 60hz or even lower when scrolling between videos, hopefully they'll fix that in the next update.
@@RovianGameplays You are absolutely right. RUclips sp far can only be worked around by using dynamic refresh rate. Btw. does not only affect RUclips. But every video player like it. So even third party player like Newpipe or Libretube suffer from it.
Afaik it has been fixed on the chinese models already so will come soon as an update aswell. My guess is latest end of this month early next we will get the update.
The update will also split notifications and control center. So left top down swipe for notifications and right top swipe down for control center.

I am surprised in a bad sense by the magic 5 series. they have the same sensor as the magic 4 ultimate, but night shooting is just a cut worse. magic 4 was amazing, but this one is somehow mediocre ... honor was smart with algorithms (

I like the Xperia 1 V a lot. The whole feeling of using it with a shutter button and Photo Pro app is a breeze.
Best point and shoot is the Huawei P60 Pro.
Magic 5 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Pro + Ultra aswell as Oppo Find X6 Pro are also very very good for photography.

I have 13u before and now Magic5 pro but you have eu version for the magic right ? Beacuse still no udpates there for Jun Jul for the magic, and both these updates have camera changes. Sadly for honor delayed so much.. Also for Magic5 pro you have falcon capture none phone can campared with that! is unique. The magic 5 pro is better overall even without the newest updates.

ich bin momentan auf der Suche nach einem neuen Hautpgerät, da der USB-C Anschluss meines S23 Ultra nun schon zum dritten Mal in Folge defekt ist und repariert werden muss. Ich habe vor das Gerät zu verkaufen und mir vom Erlös dann einen Nachfolger zu kaufen. Nun steht das Honor Magic 5 Pro bei mir ganz oben auf der Liste, da ich einfach etwas neues ausprobieren will und ich es momentan neu für circa 800€ bekommen könnte. Nun ist mir die Video-Performance, die Kamera und insbesondere der Pro-Mode und die Qualität der RAW-Files besonders wichtig und ich habe an einigen Stellen gelesen, dass das 5 Pro hier mir einigen Punkten negativ auffällt. Wie ist deine Erfahrung mit dem Gerät? Würdest du für 800€ zuschlagen oder eher ein wenig Geld drauflegen und dann zum P60 Pro, dem 13 Ultra oder dem 1 V greifen ?

Für 800€ ein no brainer. Also klare Kaufempfehlung. Kameras sind sehr gut und preislich sind upgrades hier nur nuancen an Veränderungen.

@@lltechview non of those are available where i live. i do have the magic 5 pro just recently but i don't really like it, mostly because of the software. do you recommend the s23 ultra over the magic 5 pro or is the honor much better camera wise?

But give the S23 Ultra a try in a shop or so. Its a massive phone but maybe you like it.

@@lucaspanasski331 I think they will update still this month to July security with new UI changes like split notifications and control center. They did update this already on their chinese models
@@lltechview so looks like without rom installed, they bad as each other with updates. I bought honor magic 5 pro and regreting now that i didn't do before any research about the updates, just believed in their promise about regular updates. Not feeling safe to use it for mobile banking or online shopping ect.
Please review ZTE Nubia Z50S Pro because it has the largest camera lens.

@@GrandAdmiralGumo yes I know. However, Xiaomi 13 t pro is better in video editing work. The processor is also better. There is Dimensity 9200+. and very fast. I use a phone for 3 to 4 months at most.

Shame Honor don't do updates or support. Every one of their devices forgot about on release.

I cannot confirm that. They claim longer updates however.

der 1 Zoll Sensor hat deutlich mehr Details, vor allen bei Zoom, das sieht man deutlich an Gesichtern der Menschen, mein wird nächstes der 1 Zoll, Xiaomi/ Oppo oder Vivo, einer von denen. Dann GCAM drauf und es ist dann einer der Besten. Habe jetzt Mi10T Pro mit Gcam, super Fotos.

Bought the M5Pro for 780€ on Prime Day, been absolutely loving it so far ✌🏻
Its a great device for the price. Maybe the best flagship device this year for the price.
Had any updates for it yet. Mine is already 3 months out. Despite their promises.

@@markcaiger-watson1104 yip. I have a week left to send mine back. Zero confidence they will keep to any promises. Looking at the magic 4 pro from last year - some UK users are 5 months since last update. Took them 11 months to send out Android 13 too. Xiaomi 13 pro it is I think.

In short:
* Magic 5 Pro wins in main camera, Ultrawide, Zoom up to 4.9x and selfie, including dusk scenes.
* Xiaomi 13 Ultra wins in zoom from 5x, and in very dark scenarios.
In terms of details, I think the Maic 5 Pro is incredible... the photo is extremely processed, even more so than the Samsung, hence my criticism for those who don't like excessive sharpness and saturation, nor overly processed photos, stay with this device and don't stay with the S23 Ultra, which is even more versatile and very different from the others launched this year, despite having outdated hardware, it has processing that puts it at the top of the rest. It's hard to understand you... it looks more like your tantrum with Samsung.

@@malikomar909 Yes, the average person, when you tell him a 400 mpx phone, only understands that it is better, in truth, in my opinion, a well-made 50 50 50 is better than something else. And then I could tell you that people are convinced that without image stabilizer you can't take good photos, that mono audio sucks. Counter example Honor 90, excellent display, battery, runs well, average photos, esim...the only flaw perhaps the proximity sensor
