Oh my goodness, what a great collection! Kudo's to the time and effort it takes to restore these.
Thanks so much for visiting us and our fiberglass family!
Thank you for having me!
Wow all the A&W Love! I was OBSESSED with the Root Bear when I was a kid. Bugged my mom to keep asking to get me a bear-shaped straw looong after they quit making them. Thanks for this, Jacob!
Thanks man... Brings back so many memories. I've lived in Seattle and Portland. Thanks so much.
Eff is effnn cool...have a great evening☺
I don't know about up there, but down here in the south, "yardbird" is an old term for chicken (because so many people had them running around in their yards). You don't hear it as often these days, but you sometimes see it listed on menus at restaurants trying to sound folksy, as in "southern fried yardbird".
Excellent video as usual!
those doughnuts, look very good to eat...!
A doughnut right now, sounds great right now...!
They need a chain going to Texas.
Voodoo Doughnuts!
Dang...making me want to buy a coffin full of doughnuts now!
Loving the statues!
All I could think of when you were talking in the Campbell's head was Spaceballs!
This guy is my hero. A storage unit full!
So I see you went through the oh so lovely town of Longview on your travels. Great shot of Weyerhaeuser as you started crossing the Lewis & Clark bridge, or locally known as the Rainier bridge. That’s interesting that you chose to cross over into Oregon through Longview. It’s not the quickest route to Portland, but it’s definitely more scenic. I’m bummed I didn’t know your were in the area until now. Yes, I’m a little behind in videos.
Welcome to Portland! I’m amazed that someone from this south is pronouncing “Oregon” correctly. Enjoy your visit!
he actually from the mid west moved to the south
Shawn Duffy That's what my girlfriend said too! She hates it when Oregon is mispronounced. The Carpetbagger definitely gets a gold star!
Loved this one. A cool friend also.
Come to Colfax. The Codger Pole is here!!! 60 miles from Spokane.
Yardbirds in northern CA was a local hardware store, then Home Depot bought them out & they closed up, I miss them 😢 probably not connected to the Yardbirds you saw
There's a house in my area that has a giant bust of the old Texaco Man in the back yard. You used to be able to see it from the Road, but the owner's were apparently tiered of all the attention and put up a huge privacy fence, so all you see now is the top half of the right hand that was raised to make the figure wave. Don't know why they just don't offer it to The Henry Ford Museum.
Yard birds were hardware stores
I lived in OreGUN for three years. There is so much to see. Too bad you didn't make it to TV highway to see the big duck, or visit the Tillamook Creamery. Boring, Oregon is also a good stop...also Wankers Corner. Oh well, next time.
Jacob. Come to Beaufort sc. Tons of history, big houses and movies filmed here. Forrest gump, forces of nature,gi jane, the great santini, etc...
I'm a HUGE fan in Oregon!!! I emailed you to see if I could come see you!!
Yard birds is an amazing thrift store lol, i found some pretty cool things there, to bad it looked closed when you came.
Fantastic stuff, really interesting. They never had much in the way of fibreglass mascots in New Zealand. I'm keen to investigate now, cheers. This channel is a constant source of fascination. Hi cats.
Ive dreamed of owning a rocket slide.
I grew up with one in the 80's Laguna Beach, Bluebird Park
The Yard Bird is descended from the Yard Dinosaur as far as you know.
I could literally eat every one of those donuts.
I hope the Muffler Man makes it outside someday! He is super awesome!
That was kind of creepy 😱
Yardbirds was "The" Shopping Center for miles. had everything a mall of today had. They started out at another location just down the road from that one as a military surplus seller and moved into retail. They also had a location in Olympia,Wa but that building has since burned down.
some majors floods in the late 80's and early 90s (one was several feet deep inside the store) killed the store. www.yardbirdshistory.com/
Hey Jacob. With in 2 weeks of D B Cooper pulling off his stunt there was a tavern in Seattle that had D B Cooper Night.Dress as DB Cooper and get 1/2 price drinks....! Never went but it must have looked cool !
Sounds like a blast
And they said that way DB could come down and party with his fans.!.. I'm going to do a story about Pikes place market 1968...... a very BAD part of town....from the market to pioneer square was Skid row...and all that goes with that....
Awesome video. Keep up the great video work!
loved this. The statues and yum those donuts looked sweet!
Man that was a Awesome vlog ! I really enjoyed those fiberglass attractions ! Especially the " Harbie" the seal one ! They got one for sale near me but it's pretty pricey!.I your buddy going to make t-shirts of that Harbie, if so, I'm willing to buy a couple !
New Years diet ended at 10:47
What a great collection! Love those things. If I had the money my home would be packed with automatons.
Wow! this has been one of my favorite episodes you've done in a while!!! I loved seeing all the cool old figures! glad to see they are getting some tlc!
DB cooper was said to be possibly a TV repair man...maybe there was a connection.
Favorite Yardbirds, Clapton, Beck and Page
Have you or woo been to Wisconsin dells or the house on the rock?
fun stuff. happy new year!
Hi Jacob, those figures were awesome but terrifying. I hope you bought your friend some donuts too, they looked delicious although some of the shapes were erm questionable lmao. x

That voo doo neon light sign gave me the heeber jeebers for some reason😂
Very awesome blog today!
It is so sad that the 24 hour Church of Elvis is gone now. Could have been a good visit for you.
Lol that yardbird does have a creepy finger .
Welcome to Portland. I want Jeff as my neighbor. It has to be the Muffler man. I know exactly what you mean by the rocket ship slide. They were every where in So Cal. I hope I see you if you visit Harvey.
I remember going in that Yardbirds all the time. Haven’t been in years though.
OK, found out the answer to my question in other video, I found out who Jeff was.
yardbird was like an indoor swap meet
Wow! What a great collection! VooDoo doughnuts for the win!
Man,.. now I REALLY want a donut. I guess that fourteen people are mad because you didn't share. Oh well, they should go get their own instead of taking it out on this amazing video! 😀
Mah boi EFF
HaHaHa!!! That was ShaNks NOT Skanks!!!
Big George reminded me of Al Gore for some reason.
I want a coffin full of doughnuts....
Some Yardbirds later became members of Cream, Renaissance and Led Zeppelin.
Did Jacob go Missing in Action in Portland????
Nope, backed up on editing though
glad you are well!!!!

Does he get any assistance from any preservation or historical organizations?
Hey Jeff - No outside help on the restorations but we feel lucky to have the chance to save these pieces of history.
How do u pay for all these plane tickets and rental cars and hotels? Love your channel. But would be interesting to know. Is ad revenue that good on a smaller channel now?
No, someone was generous enough to find this trip
a Pentagram is not satanic... its pagan... HUGE difference.
The one big donut is called the c*** and balls. My wife got one of those one time.
How nice
The Carpetbagger yes indeed
I knew doughnuts were evil.
Its always a good time for a doughnut. His place is like a retirement home for large fake people.
Good call! We've actually called our place a retirement home for roadside giants. :-)
