SevenEves is probably my favorite, but Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon aren't far behind. Also another good first read is Zodiac (not about a serial killer).

Snow Crash is amazing. I have been wanting to read more Stephenson, but I'm onto Asimov now and looking into Adrien Tchaikovsky next.

Children of Time by Tchaikovsky was fantastic, but also gave me the creeps lol. If you are looking for more I thought The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu was the best scifi series I've ever read. (another honorable mention for me is Hyperion by Dan Simmons) If you have found anything else please let me know! I'm always looking for new ones.

I don't care what your background is, if you don't find the chapter of YTs mom working in an office hilarious, you're not human.

The memo about toilet paper, the time of reading of which must be not too long and not too short. Neal is so damn smart, and funny, and a word chef.

Snow Crash was my first by N.S., but I was a little turned off by the silliness. When he says you have to get the joke, 100% agree you have to read everything with a grain of salt. Went next to Anathem, which was a chore at times to get through but more my style. Not sure where to go from here.

My favorite is "The Diamond Age". If a nerd like N.S. had a soul, he would write "A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer". )IMHO(

    What about The Diamond Age?
Is it so bad that there's a consensus to not mention it?
