I see you good night moon, you're all over the place hurmie. Can I just have a complete discography of all of the music that you listen to? I'm sure that I would love all of it based on all of the videos/songs on youtube you make comments on.
lptomtom What's wrong with using old cheap guitars? I've found they usually have a more unique voice, and if it sounds good and gets the job done then why pay an arm and a leg for a new Fender or other big name guitar.
Let's be honest: the choice isn't between an old Harmony and a new Fender: for the price of these guitars (which is hugely inflated because they're "vintage"), you could buy a second-hand Mexican or US Fender, or a new higher-end Squier. Those are arguably better-built guitars, can stay tuned for more than one song (unlike the Harmony models used here), and are immensely more reliable and solid for touring. Thus, the only reason one would buy a '60s Harmony is the perceived "cool factor". Which is fine, it's their money and they can spend it as they want, but it's still a bit of a hipster choice IMO.
lptomtom You’re absolutely right. I actually own a ‘64 Bobkat and it’s always out of tune, the pickups are too noisey, and it’s tone is super thin. I wouldn’t recommend buying one, seeing as how I bought it for its “cool factor” and not for its overall quality. Do yourself a favor - Go buy a Fender.
lptomtom maybe for the guitar center shopper, my local music shop sells these old guitars for $100 give or take depending on hardware. You're partially right cuz ive seen them go over 500 at gc. Most look pretty rad and are light weight as hell, I did go with a newer fender but if I find something lefty for that cheap id trade

How to make a Harmony guitar sound decent? Drown it in reverb! These guys are good though (once you look past the hipster instruments)

IDK dude-bros I paid $200 for mine and it's sick. Find me a better 22.5" scale guitar for $200 and I'll buy it right now.
