Looks like you are dropping a video the same time as me, it’s a good day for people who like jet ski videos. Can’t wait to to sit down and enjoy this video. Dropping a 👍 and I will be back later
@@JoelArseneaultRUclips well I am glad you are headed out to the water. I do like how you laid out the electrical setup on the surf bracket. The fresh water filter looks great, very convenient spot for inspection and cleaning. 👍 the tractor starter relay is good because if it works who cares and the fact that it’s cheap makes it even better. It’s great when you find a battery cable that works perfect 👍 makes sense that the stator is giving you trouble it’s always the stator and the cdi on those 1100s. it makes sense that you are going to try to run it in the water but not ride and then it will work good and you will have to ride it haha. Sounds great 👍
@@JetSkiBrothers The stator that I had issues with.... that's the very same stator that you had issues with, lol. It's the one that you sent me, that you got off ebay and said it may not work. It tests fine with a meter ... but doesn't work. WEll...sometimes doesn't work. It worked around Christmas a few times on and off. Anyway. I'm kinda glad I went out and did some water testing, because there are a few things that I need to take care of. You know how it is. There are lots of little things that only become obvious when you actually run it on the water.
Wow Joel that thing sounds amazing, people will hear you coming from a mile away, I also love the way the green hoses look very cool, I am also amazed how you fitted all of the engine and everything else in to the hull, can't wait to see you out on the water for a test run, cheers and good luck
Thanks Adrian ! I don't think enough people wished me luck, because today was a real mess 😂 You'll hear all about it in my next video, I'm sure. I have a few bugs to work out, but you are right... it's loud and sounds awesome.
The story of my life... looking great but it not getting me anywhere in life 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I guess it's true what they say. "it's what's on the inside that counts ... and I'm clearly all outa spec.
Thanks MJ ... This thing is going to be an absolute beast !! It may also give me as much trouble as it gave the Jet Ski Brothers, lol... but it's going to be intense.
Awesome video man! I'm totally impressed how you worked out everything thus far, your battery mounting plate "E-Box" turned out incredible, so cool! Congratulations on the start-up, you got it to idle nicely, that's a great sign! Really good job man, really! (Edit: not battery mounting plate i meant the plate for your ignition System, duh!)
@@AtimatikArmy Between my last comment and now, I have finally diagnosed my starting / backfiring issue (narrowed it down) and I feel like an idiot ... I had said a few times in videos what it was, but was too stubborn to deal with it / look into it. Oh well.
@@AtimatikArmy I have two stators, one I got from the JSB, it is flaky (they told me that) and the other from the ZXi I bought last year... It works fine. This is an issue that I mentioned around Christmas when I was having a really hard time starting it. If you really want to know I can just tell you.... or you can wait for my video, haha.
If nothing else they sound amazing!! Before you sign up for it, you may want to watch my next / upcoming video... today was a heck of a day 😂 JK ... I think that would be a good project.
Only a little concerned about the CDI box. These components are potted (sealed in epoxy) and on dirt bikes, ATVs sie by sides, street bikes etc, these components are left in the open. ATVs live a pretty harsh life and do not have issues with wet electronics, not since they did away with points 👍 In salt water I would be concerned about the connectors corroding, but as it is I'm not worried about the connectors either. This probably won't be my final layout / design, as I have a programmable, Zeeltronics CDI and will be installing it. I will probably make a carbon fibre cover to house everything, at that time. (as the Zeeltronics box is over $700)
You have a serious issue. Sounds like it has no compression or you have a seizing piston, maybe crank is out of phase.... or something. It's backfiring due to improper timing... and it just sounds like shit to be honest. That's not what that engine sound like and that amount of backfiring should have been your first clue to STOP and analyze what is happening.
Yup ! Unless you know the whole story, then I just come across as an idiot ... but yes, you are correct. If you haven't followed my "story" from the beginning of the install, then it's a pretty long story. The short story is that I have known for months that something was wrong, very likely that my compression was low. They MAG and PTO cylinders were out of round and I was hoping with some breakin they would seal. I ignored this for several reasons and it was, in fact, very low compression on two cylinders. I stated this in a livestream back in early January. It is working well now, but yes, it had lots of issues and I ignored them and kept moving "forward". Stopping and analyzing the problem meant spending money and time that I didn't have (at the time).

Haha... a great day for jetski fans. I will have to watch yours later, as well, as I am getting ready to load up and try to test my rig.

Are you worried about those electronics getting wet? Without them being enclosed in a box?
